I’ve wanted to see a simplified version of a race bike for years, something like an air cooled KTM 250sx with modern geometry, ergos and everything else slightly downgraded to make it affordable and durable, then build the same thing for 10 years or more. But every time a manufacturer comes out with a new entry level model they cripple it with bizarre ergos and geometry..

I think it could be a little more aggressive than the klx level bikes, but I do get what you mean, a flowy gp vet style track prepped and ripped on klxs battling a bunch of guys would be a blast and lower the skill and risk barrier and equalize a lot of us.

There's a track that this exists at right now in the middle of PA... The adult play bike class. The battles are wild. Once everyone gets their head around the fact that not everything racing is a big name series or LL's qualifiers, there is a lot of fun racing that still exists and isn't expensive.

How different would KLX/TTR/CRFf racing be then racing the bikes we raced in the 70s?

You mean when the sport experienced an absolute grass-roots popularity explosion?

Correct. Wouldn't be all that much different from that.

If it’s any consolation Osamu passed away at the end of the year

there is now one less road block in the way of Suzuki revitalizing their bike line up

So in the not to distant future they might actually start updating Mx bikes again (but I’ve heard nothing about it currently … just a euro 5 compliant gsxr1000 is getting closer)

Word from Suzuki CEO is that a new GSXR is gonna be presented this year at The EICMA. If it's a good news, regarding the RMZ models, i think that Suzuki is only doing a few new models every year, so there's very few chances to see a 2026 RMZ and even if they were working on it, it should be a new 450 or an electric bike. The 250 RMZ could disappear from Suzuki's catalogue or remaining unchanged like the 85 RM.

I haven’t heard anything about new mx bikes from any of the test riders or through work

The new gsxr is slowly plodding along with the CN challenge stuff they are doing

Patural did very well on the outdated Suzuki. Im sure he would beat all of us keyboard warriors on any new bike we ride.

I didnt realize he was riding mx2 back in 15.  Many of these foreign riders are 30 y/o.  Thats awesome.

Spec Miata classes for moto would be the best thing…

and steel tanks, etc., adding to way to much weight.

At 66yrs old I would buy a "modern" air cooled, carb'd 2stroke to trail ride for the rest of my riding days. With e-start, of course!😉

In the mean time I'll enjoy my 200xcw and fe350!

I may update my thread I made when I picked up my 450 but my 2025 is the best bike I’ve ever been on and it’s not close. KYB shock and racetech on the valving and it’s crazy good. Never have I had a motorcycle be that maneuverable, predictable, and planted. This is obviously personally but if they drop a 2026 update I’m getting zero FOMO bc of the one I have.

I'd even be happy with a kickstart RMZ350.

I was at the RMarmy Boot Camp last week. I do not think you will see a new RMZ 450 in 2026. I know, shocker.

However, there are some really good people at Suzuki and the whole HEP Suzuki team and RMarmy Boot Camp was an awesome experience.

Man I wish to go to the boot camp but I live in Italy😢.
I would love to see a new rmz in 2026, even if there aren’t any chances.

Buon Giorno!
I attended the Perris California Boot Camp with

My 14 yr old son😎 Really enjoyed the day!! the Suzuki Twisted Tea Team and Factory Served lunch and Track Time included! Got to meet Colt  and Benoit Super Guys!! We rode on vet track as I’m recovering from Ebike crash 💥 The only

Bad news is my son wanted to do a couple more laps before sunset resulted in a broken collarbone 🥲 But I would buy another Suzuki just for the Support!  I’m thinking at 71 I really don’t need a new bike but if Suzuki upgrades to E start 👍😎🏁 Ciao for Now!

Suzuki put the same effort into the placement of the clutch and front brake levers in that photo as they do into R&D.

Suzuki hasn’t presented any 2026 model due the presentation of the 2 new models.

Nothing but some BNG. Fat heavy dinosaur.

Also this hidden due to downvotes thing is soft.

@ML512 there was a poll where the majority of people said to can this feature. Vital can still be a safe space without hiding downvotes.

Yeah I get a chuckle every year when this thread pops up, sucks it is hidden now. Apparently there are some very sensitive 'zuk guys that can't handle a little good-natured ribbing.

Lol. The KX450 is listed on Kawasaki.com at 248.2lbs with full tank, RMZ listed at 247lbs, and CRF450 at 249lbs.

Ya I'm not a fan that it's hidden either, but thankfully you guys commenting gives me the notification so I can come back to it.

the heavy comment is because the suzuki doesnt have e start and the assumption is that the bike would be heavier if it had e start.

Obviously an e start engine would need to be lightened to keep weight in check with the other japanese bikes
