Wasn’t sure on the 250, but the topic was Eli’s bike which is a 450. It holds about a liter. They definitely need more of something though.
I think Schock also blew his engine according weege show red bud wrap…
Due to a broken exhaust.

Does this mean the Yamaha is a piece of crap too? Or is the Tomac bike failure bashing reserved for Kawasaki only?
Yes, then a squeeking sound and he said he it blew.
I just feel that it’s relevant to mention the cause of it. It’s not a yzf problem if the silencer brakes and creates to much back pressure.
Same goes for a 250 rider that goes around trying to blow the bike up reving the piss out of it all the way through the air and going in to the corners when he is on the brakes.
If the track is deep and heavy on the engine, just use your brain for once and don’t do all that unnecessary crap ”just because you can”.
And the failures are relatively recent only - some sort of “development”. Pushed a little too far?
Despite the downvotes, I think this is a legitimate take. Yamaha has positioned themselves as the most reliable brand in Dirtbike manufacturing for many years now. The amount of failures seen this MX season does not meet the standard that Yamaha has set. It's past time for Engineering to jump in and right the ship. Time for an in-depth FRB.
I’m not sure why the new Yamahas would be considered reliable. Everybody I know that has one has broken.
. Of course that doesn’t have much to do with the race team bikes engines.
Are they only recent? I seem to remember quite a few Star engines expiring.
To be fair Deegan, Eli, and Coop are clutch bangers…especially when they see red and are going for it.
I've been seeing a lot of Instagram reels, YouTube shorts, and chest cam vids from Red Bud as of late. All I can ask is what the hell have they done to Red Bud? It practically looks like a mud race. Did they rip it 2' deep? AC said it on his podcast, why did they have to make it so deep? No wonder all these bikes were blowing up. Remember when Red Bud had the best dirt on the circuit? It doesn't even look like the same track surface anymore
Just imagine if Webbs bike would’ve let go at the last SX round…
Anyhow can you imagine the comments from Prado if his bike expired during one of his motos??
Everybody was on the same track, not all bikes blew up.
With the heat they probably went a little extra deep to keep the moisture.
Once the dust starts to come out it’s to late to do anything about it since the ground will be rock hard and the water you put on it will just evaporate.
I know back in 06-09 the Team Green guys were running 500cc's in their stock and mod 250f's and said it was to get as much power as they could out of them. Any more oil apparently hurt performance.
It's mainly a sand track now, plus I do believe they rip it 24" deep and soak it on the regular. The track on Saturday looked just like the practice days I've ridden over the past few years - it's tough out there as a C rider on a 125...
Pit Row
A higher oil level can cause parasitic drag from windage. If the oil is in the crankcase or rotating parts. An external cooler somewhat acts like a dry-sump setup. The extra volume is in the cooler and not causing drag on the engine. It's also dissipating heat before it returns to the engine.
He should have jumped into the pits for a splash of gas, Right side tires and round of wedge😃
They need to lay off deegans big bore.
Yes I saw a POV vid from Friday's 25+ class. Definitely not slow riders. There were guys going down everywhere in the corners
