I'm watching my 2 month old nephew for 2 days. His diapers are filled with nothing but big green turtles.
Nice to see the Green Turtle toward the front today. Was it just the sand or do you think he'll be up front at Red Bud?
Turtles aren't the first bike to the first turn! Get rid of the label
Hard to tell. At least we saw some speed today.

I think its a mix of a few factors. Sand being one of them. Red bud will be interesting. Prado looked so much better today, the sand can't be the only thing that led to this massive change in riding.
I think it was the sand. He was :46 seconds back moto 1 and 1:33 back moto 2. Huge improvement over last race but I think the gap increases next week.
He crashed 2nd moto. Maybe also the 1st moto? I can't remember off the top of my head.
I feel like those small, simple crashes were a good sign. It shows he felt comfortable enough to push, when clearly he was not comfortable enough to do so before. I hope he and the team can take those small mistakes and make them a "learning lesson" about what his limiter was, and how to overcome that moving forward.
But, yes. I do agree that his performance next week might not be as strong.
Prado got a great start today so it seems the power is there now....after watching his Washougal interview where he says the bike is the problem, is it just all about suspension now or is it a torque/power thing lacking in a certain range?
Making HP for starts isn't that hard, full rev available at 10k (450). A 350 was kind of competitive for a long time in starts, but completely different thing on track. We saw Villo get starts at his 250. MXGP 250 revs at was it 15 or 16k 😄
Making torque and HP at the track, 5-8k very different challenge. Prado is one that rides in the middle of powerband, not a rever.
And when the power is in place, you need to work on suspension. Maybe chassi some but more suspension since that is so depending on having the power you will ride with available. Chassi balance you can most likely find with a broader range of engine packages.
They are flying engines overnight so sound like stuck on step 1. Durability testing must be a factor that makes the process slow. Cant imagine Kawi letting a top rider out on just a dyno tested version?
This is painful to watch. I know he states give me a bike that can win and I will, yet....I don't know at least consistent top tens, yet that sucks for a four time world champ too. He is just doing so piss poor, just awful.
Finishing 2 minutes behind the leaders is embarrassing
Sounds like Prado is the problem
At this point the only issue Prado is dealing with his being a massive whinger.
He just gives up after a couple of laps. Just because he's not able to race at the front right now because of his bike it doesn't mean he should say fuck it and drift back to 20th.
Hiroshi Ito: Prado, pull your head in and stop whinging!
I know Prado is taking a lot of flack for his interviews and placing the blame on the bike....but, I do believe he will be up front battling with the top 3 when they finally figure things out. Or I should say, IF they figure things out.
Boy I don't know. Once you start quitting it gets easier and easier. This whole deal sucks, I thought he would be competing with Jett, not Lorenzo. Is he just cashing in? It sure seems it.
How high are the chances they could mutually agree to part ways if the last outdoor rounds look like today? And what would be next even for Prado? It's so rough to watch man..
My thought is that he doesn't want to push and get hurt riding a bike that he's not comfortable on. I think he pushes for a couple laps to show he be better but in the end he's riding a bike he doesn't like, be it the power, handling, or most likely both.
He's not even on the same planet as those guys
Pit Row
Kawi is looking at their ROI with Prado right now and trying to find a way to drop him.
Last night I was thinking the same thing that Gordon Light Foot (@goofyfoot) is saying. Just give Prado some more time. Dude, Im not getting any younger and I want to see him battle up front.
Right now I can’t imagine him in the top 5 on either Jett’s or Chase’s bike.
Even if Prado was on a completely stock bike, he shouldn’t be where he’s been finishing. Hes gotta be embarrassed with himself and his excuses at this point.
I hear you, he's not up to the pace. But, I do believe he'll get there eventually. Perhaps he is boycotting his team with his rides/results by basically saying " until you give me the bike that I want I'm not going to push and risk injury". I could be wrong, time will tell.
I mean he has to be purposely trying to do bad. I just don't get why he would do that. How can he go from one of the best in the world to barely top 20? He holeshot a moto and then just disappeared....
Harrison beating him on the kawi is embarrassing. They aren't even close to the same caliber of rider. Prado has had 8-9 weeks of racing/riding. With almost zero improvement on a factory team with a long history of winning. Something just doesn't add up.
You could put the top 3 on bone stock bikes and they would still crush him. It's not the bike, Prado just isn't good enough
It starts to make you wonder if there's a get out clause in his contract where if his performance is below some agreed upon standard the contract can be voided - without financial penalties.
I was watching him in the GP's for the past few years & couldn't wait for him to hit the US outdoor circuit. Especially after his decent part-time SX rides last year. The kid was an absolute ripper on the Gas Gas in Europe.
He should at least be running in the top 10 for 30+2. Anyone that watched him last season would know that. I'm looking forward to eventually hearing the whole story because something is way off with his program this Summer.
Why does everyone make excuses for him as well? Wasn’t Chase super uncomfortable on his bike and still out there giving it his all? If I’m any team right now seeing this I wouldn’t want Prado. Poor attitude right there. He’s paid to go give it 100 and he isn’t.
I just realized in the GPs they can change anything they want to a bike, full factory. In the AMA series not so much. Is that why he is pissed about the scooter? They are not allowed to change the things he wants changed? Honestly, he is behaving like a petulant child.
Lmao!
