The teaser from Kawasaki wouldn't really make sense if they did that. It wouldn't really be bringing back 2 strokes in the way it implied.
Maybe the updated 85 and 112 will be shown at Loretta’s.
EXACTLY! Too many people are missing the point of the "bring back" portion of the comments of the teaser. Kawasaki isn't stupid. Only updating the minis after creating this much hype would result in one of the greatest PR blunders in history, regardless of industry. That, and the sound clip is obviously something 250cc or bigger. It doesn't even come close to sounding like a 125 or less. Even my wife picked up on that. Context clues, y'all.
At least Triumph must be pumped on this Kawi 2T rollout. Triumph can no longer lay claim to the worst new model roll out in the history of motorcycling.

KDX200 folks...calm down
When I queried my Kawasaki contact about the 'new' two stroke I was told this wasn't about bringing back a singular model, but multiple over the next couple of years. I think there will be something for everyone.
I think you meant to type KDX300. 😉😂
That would make more sense. Perhaps the 85 and 112 will have a fresh design and be announced at the sametime as the other 2 stroke(s). And all the bikes will have a similar look to the bodywork.
Kawasaki is also working on a supercharged sport SXS and has been teasing it, but it is not in the 2026 lineup either. Of all the manufacturers Kawasaki seems to be the one making the most changes as far as new vehicles and dipping into some segments that the other japanese companies are staying away from. A high HP sport SXS, an enclosed cab climate controlled SXS, electric balance bikes, 2 strokes. Its cool to see.
Absolutely. The main reason we are seeing a bunch of new models and products has to do mostly with the separation from KHI a couple of years ago and forming of it's own powersport division. Quicker decision making and a little more leeway.
I’m just here to brace myself for a major disappointment
This is in the latest edition of MXA
Would it make sense to release a 300 at loretta? Assuming thats the rumor it would not make sense i guess, 125 yes 300 no
85 and 112 at Loretta’s. 300 later.
Lol

From a business, environmental, image standpoint I can't believe Kawasaki is bringing back competitive 2 strokes. It would be so backwards.
... But playbikes, trailbikes etc yes, but I can't imagine that they will for serious competitive racing.
Doesn't the Japanese have a high sense of pride, if it's a racing bike it must be on alternetive ultra expensive environmental friendly fuel.
Did you notice my Lol above the pic
Pit Row
Yes I did.
It show how much fake news is posted to social media!
this once breaking news item has begun to feel more like an april fools joke.
With '22 & 23' models still unsold, and Tarrifs causing issues with adding considerable end costs, maybe Kawasaki have reconsidered?
Where have you found 22 and 23 models?
22 and 23 bikes aren't effected by tariffs bro
….and they’ve all been sold already.
I hate to speculate, I can’t help but wonder if Kawi has 2 strokes on the back burner right now considering the KX450 recalls and now the impending ZX6R recalls, the ladder of the two not looking good at all for Kawi.
You realize that more people are into racing Off Road than Motocross right?
The numbers don't lie.
If it's an offroad bike, I hope it's more of a KX300X than a KDX300... Better suspension, etc. More race bike than play bike.
This is what I understand from my source. Not a Motocross bike like MXA says, but not a slouch, either. Think "competitor to the YZ250X."
In my opinion it needs to be more of a competitor to the European off road 2 strokes or it's still a swing and a miss.
Whatever they do, they need to build it from a factory in the US.
