I just saw something online a few days ago were someone was sent a readjusted bill for an ambulance ride, readjusted with insurance coverage the bill was almost double what it would’ve been if they didn’t have any health insurance at all. It’s such a horrible industry.

And fuck Rich Taylor.

I looked back through the pages, but does anyone have an actual link to the court case, or how it’s labeled (eg Rich Taylor v Los Angeles County Raceway, or Rich Taylor’s middle initial)?

Funny how Taylor plays the victim card when referring to his minor son. Sorry Rich, you should have scoured every inch of that track on foot if you were so worried about your minor son. As his parent/guardian, the negligence is yours. But in this upside down world of blaming everyone else. You like many others point and blame someone else for your failure as a parent...

And fuck Rich Taylor.

Another thing  I noticed while not having health Insurance VS having it. All of a sudden  I was super healthy and did not have to do so many of the tests that were " required" or medically recommended. Then back on insurance and that went away.

An office visit at my primary was $75-$90 without coverage

And $300-$500  with coverage.

Meds are the same deal. Without coverage You can get a discount card and then pay much less. Sometimes 75% less.

The least expensive coverage I could find is $360 per month with a $10K deductible. I  have to pay out of pocket for those Dr. visits at the insurance priced until I get up to the 10K. If all goes well I see my primary 4 or 5 times a year. After the infection I had ( MRSA in the bones of my foot) and still having hardware in me, I am more prone to infections so I still have bloodwork done often and have to take antibiotics before certain things. Its crazy how messed up that industry is with pricing. I was blown away at the retail pricing and then what insurance ends up paying, and then what they change for somebody without insurance.

I've found out recently that the rehab that was telling me everything was covered and ) deductible, was BS and bills keep rolling in for my mom after they talked us into doing some extra stuff.

The court case stuff has been posted and screenshotted here for sure.  Might be able to search and find it.

If you're trying to determine if it was Rich that sued or his insurance, that horse has been beat to death, it was Rich.

Yeah, I’ll have to go back and look through. I wonder if Rich would’ve even sought it ought if Rick Ryan hadn’t approached him and basically told him to do it and Rick would testify for him? What kind of axe did RR have to grind with the LACR track owners?

And I’m curious if Rich Taylor lied and raced for his son more than once?

What a tragedy (the track unable to operate)

On the plus side of this, doesn’t sound like the track is done just that the insurance doesn’t want to deal with the Barbacovi’s. Which as much as that sucks to say especially with LACR’s history with them, it at least sounds like someone else could take over ownership and get things going again.

I’m just baffled by the tone deaf media and industry individuals of this sport that still accept advertising dollars from EKS googles.  Shame on you Vital, pulp, swap and anyone else that takes his money. Moto is a family and we don’t sue each other because we made a mistake and crashed. Such a disappointment all of this is.

Vital and MXA or  any other media outlet that takes Rich Taylors advertising dollars is no better than Rich Taylor himself and have zero integrity. But I'm sure they will have a excuse for doing it.

Every time you log on, visit this site, comment, look on the homepage you are actively supporting it.

You got two choices.  Stay or leave.  My guess is, you don't have the balls to leave and will in turn have an excuse for staying.

This isn’t exactly a speak with our wallet scenario, we don’t have another forum to go to. I personally feel it’s tone deaf of Vital to accept money from someone that the vast majority of their clients despise and someone that stabbed the very sport we’re all here for in the back.

So because you think the media should boycott them does not mean that we should. Don't get me wrong I will not buy EKS but that will not stop me visiting this site or supporting ML

While I get where you guys are coming from, don’t forget they are letting Darkside go because of budget and that’s with Eks paying to advertise here. Vital decides to tell Eks to go kick rocks, there’s zero guarantee anyone else steps in to advertise in place of Eks. That’s less money for budget and who knows what else or who else we lose from here because of it. Gotta think bigger picture.

I have been around this sport for 45 years, racing all over the place, and I have to say that compared to most sports, this sport takes a very lackadasial approach to safety at the amateur racing level. For instance, no flaggers on practice days is a standard thing, or having pros on a 450 on the track at the same time as an amateur kid on an 85. I once went to a big amateur track that had unattended practice tracks set up and I couldn't even tell which way the track went, so I left. I didn't want to go head on with a kid over a blind jump. A $1.50 paper arrow would have solved that issue.

The AMA probably should have much more stringent safety standards and applied them universally. Sure, it's a PITA for track owners and makes things cost more- but so do lawsuits. If you open a gym or a swimming pool I am sure there are universal safety standards that people have to adhere to. It's been pretty much Wild West in motocross, and in a sport as dangerous as this, a lot more could be done.

Thats a Cali thing having pros on a track with 85's. Or I guess I should say its not a Northeast thing. Practice tracks are always broken up. A/B, Novice, Vets, 85's

Is AMA event insurance not an option for LACR regarding practice and race day coverage? Maybe Cali doesn't have many AMA members, I don't know.

Nah, if it was so outrageously dangerous that it required a lawsuit, it should’ve been noticed well before the end of the day. Kid should’ve said “dad that corner is sketch” and then dad would’ve packed up the bikes because he is an adult and is looking out for the best interest of his minor racer he signed a release for.

Been this way forever and now even worse with the podcasts/youtube/IG etc.

Rich has been around a long time and is friends with all the big names. I agree with you, it's fucking insane that this guy can shill out his shit and people will still buy it.

I would seriously love to see a financial analysis of some of Steve's sponsors and the boost they get from being on his show. I'd be wiling to bet for some of the "smaller" companies (IE not Yamaha) it's substantial. Even Fly, a shitload of people buy Fly gear because of the relationship with Pulp.
