Would you mind giving a brief run down of your experience with the operating costs associated with running a track?

Specifically, how much have you dealt with the insurance companies that insure tracks?

How much experience do you have with the costs & requirements associated with this insurance?

Can you tell us how much experience and knowledge you have on how much the insurance costs have risen in just the last 12 months?

Looking forward to your response.

I like how the only thing you mention is insurance. I do not own a track or insure one. If we cant figure out how to properly use waivers of liability properly then we don't deserve to survive idk what else to say. If owners cant figure this stuff out the solution is not to just continue to pass the costs on until riding is a sport for the wealthy or unhealthily dedicated.

I like how you don't have a fucking clue but want to just keep shitting on track owners.

You'd have to be a fucking idiot to run a track without insurance and trust the Waivers.  Seriously.

I have a good buddy who is in a club that puts on about 6 events a year.  Last year they paid $8k for insurance, this year they paid $21k.  That is happening all across the country.

Tell us, since you are so fucking smart and have the answers to everything....how does a track owner absorb that cost without passing it on to the consumer?

You're angry. Calm down. Sorry this is so emotional for you.

Idk brainiac the math isnt mathing here so the costs either get passed on or the business shuts down. I'm not paying $50 to ride so the alternative is SHUT ER DOWN i guess since you only see in dichotomies. Go be bitter old man somewhere else.

What math isn't mathing you arrogant fuck?

So in your world because other businesses are posting record profits you think all MX tracks are too?  I wish my brain was so fucking simple to think the world worked like that.

How about just admit you don't actually have a clue what you're talking about and you're bitter that you are too broke to pay to ride?

Wouldn't it be easier to just admit you don't know what you're talking about rather than having to constantly deflect?

Your arrogance is pathetic and is obviously from some deep insecurities.

But hey little fella, you keep on playing the victim ok.  Hopefully you can find a safe space to go cry in.

Oh look, more deflection so you don't have to admit you don't know what you're talking about.

You have a history of that.

I'm sorry you weren't raised up to be a real man that can just admit when they are wrong.

I tell ya what, shoot me your Venmo and I'll send ya $50 so you can afford to go riding.

Well, that was my point. It is cheaper here now by 50 cents or so.

Fuel is down and food is down, general costs are stabilizing.. yet all the sudden all of our local tracks and moto venues are still raising prices due to “expenses”.

The expense is called “I want to get more of your money in my account”. Don’t get it confused.

Kinda hard to compare this far apart. What’s a pound of 80/20 beef where you are?

Where have you been buying gas at for $3.10? I've not seen it get above $3 down here by the lakes.

I live about an hour and a half from Loretta's and went for the first time in 2017. Anyone who has gone to watch knows you pay by the car at the gate. Not a bad deal if you and 3 of your buddies roll in together. in '17 it was $40 a car to get in. Honestly not bad at all even if you roll in solo. I checked it last year to find out it was now $80 a car! What's just as crazy is in 17, if you came in on a bike it was $20. Last year it was $25. I'm seriously considering talking the wife out of going so I can just ride down solo on the bike and get in for cheap.

I paid the same at Pala two GA with pits was like $232. Decided if skip the pits at hangtown $136 there 3 hour pits for $30 is too much for me. At hangtown if been fucked. Took me an hour and twenty-five minutes to get inside and parked then another 20 to get to gate and thru the line. If had missed the whole three hours

Nat tickets are high. It was going to cost $100+ just for tickets for myself and 10-year-old for Hangtown.

That’s because Gavin is running the oil companies out of CA. Dumb move that’ll have people paying $7 or $8 a gallon next year. But, people keep voting for him, and for why.

For two tickets and pit passes it was $217 and some change. I didn’t think it was too bad honestly. Driving from Texas, we’re pumped! Never been to Thunder Valley.

Sooo was going to go to the Thunder valley National and its pretty damn expensive to sit in the dirt for a day and attend the pits. Adult GA 74$ w/o pit pass, with the pit pass its 108$ per person.....

I paid less to go to the Denver Sx lol... 34$ and we got the suite level with the carpet...(Entered pits with a monster can)... which was a whopping 40$  total for supercross...I cant seem to justify spending double to be wayy less comfortable, other than its Hardcore lol.

Also add in the family (Total of 4) and it was 160$ for supercross vs 432$ for a national.

I have no qualms with them making money but gah damn. I have never paid more for a national than a supercross and i've been attending races for a good while.

It’s been $300 for 4 years in a row. Is the promoters goal to get more spectators under some form of VIP experience and minimum GA? I couldn’t believe the amount of tents at Hangtown. I’m guessing 4-5 at Pala - 20 or so at Hangtown

Funny you mention that - I was looking at the track map and all I saw were VIP-type seating areas and thought, "Wonder where all us white-trash commoners are suposed to congregate - at the Porta-Cans? Or not at all? (or is that the hint they're trying to drop? 😄)

The AMA Motocross Series - brought to you by Rolex and Grey Poupon: so you'll know what time the croissants are being served in VIP Lounge. 👍

I know it was hot but all those damn ex-ups and vip areas did make it hard to find a place for viewing.

Hangtown always rough with tents but this year imo was chaos. Everything was a vip tent of some sort with very minimal viewing. Let’s hope more tracks don’t do this because it’s just not worth going if your only going GA.

Possibly. But do you know how many people were places they weren’t supposed to be etc. And trying to watch from more than view point sucks as there aren’t to many GA places you can see anything. Also not sure the vibe with the club that puts on the Hangtown national. Do they just hate when the event comes to town? I couldn’t count how many power tripping guys stopped me asking the same questions that they had zero authority of.

I wasn't kidding about my first impression when I saw the track map. Looked like you had to have some sort of "upgrade" if you wanted to spectate while at the track -

It was very hard to find a spot. I finally just squeezed my ass in between some other folks on the fence line. Then they all got hot and tired and it became a little less crowded. But was still very inconvenient to wrestle around looking for an opening. I'm still glad I went but for someone's first ever Cali rounds I liked Pala a lot better.. took me 15 minutes to park and 25 to get out and I could see decent on the infield. I could move around to different spots eay easier.

Hangtown 1.5 hours to park, 50 minutes to get out. And viewing was way worse. Still was a good time!!!
