Two national titles is rarified air...  I expect he'll get better every round.

I think Webb would’ve beat JMart in 2015 if he was healthy. Webb broke his wrist or did something to it at the east/west shootout race in Vegas before the nationals started and missed the first couple. Pretty sure Webb won some rounds in ‘15 when he came back.

What happened to JMart this weekend?

plowboy wrote:

He did not die so there's that.  With the current 250 field I wasn't expecting magic but I think he'll be a little better each week.

Yeah I think he,ll do better when he leaves the Cal. Tracks some riders not from the west struggle with the dirt .  What was it 2 yrs ago he crashed at Pala while in 18th & got injured.  Hopefully he enjoys everything about the races and has a good experience throughout the season.  It would b tough rt now to run inside the top 20 in either class .

I remember the same as you. Him and Alex both had mechanicals that same weekend. Something about a bad batch of coolant supposedly lol

I'm not hitting the panic button on JMart yet, but my hand is hovering over it. That said, it feels to me like he's back to get that itch fully scratched so he can retire in peace, not to contend for a championship.

Yep, that was a bummer of a day. I actually have the number 1 plate from his bike that moto, when it blew up. it's in my garage with the dirt still on it lol. That was a weird day, for sure.

He looks really good. Didn’t qualify by setting the world on fire. Started almost last both motos. Rode well, strong and consistent. In the 250 class when you start outside of the top 30 and you’re not a top 5 guy you’re not cracking top 10. I thought he woulda have came up through the pack more but he looked like he rode cautious. Keep an eye on him the rest of the season nowhere to go but up from here.

To be honest if this was a three race deal like originally rumored the result would be less troubling for some. But now we have a full season ahead of us and I question what the expectations were from the team and if thoughts of beyond this season is in play.

Regardless, I’m excited for him to be here and will look forward to him building on this race as I’m sure he is.

Thanks to Star for allowing this opportunity for him and all the JMart fans.

Pre season he was faster than everyone besides J Coop. Don’t know what happened yesterday.

I don’t know why people are downvoting this lol. It’s true.

Star wouldn’t of gave him a deal if he didn’t show something when he rode the bike. He will be better, Pala is a weird one.

Does Star need him riding their bike? Seems like they have a fair few out there as it is. Sponsors cannot surely be demanding another on track? Seems odd they call him to ride

It’s simply billboards..

a sponsor pays for ten billboards- they don’t wanna drive round town and only find eight.. or next year, they’ll only pay for eight to begin with!

Putting a former champion and former fan favourite on the track is GREAT publicity, no matter what the result.

His results will get better. But regardless it's cool to see a 2 time champion line up and  give it a go. If you have a problem with the Martin Brothers then I don't know what to tell you.

I didn't watch moto 2 but moto 1 he was in 21st then 20th for the majority of the race. He didn't progress beyond that.

Hopefully he continues to build. But in saying that, considering how the likes of Kitchen etc did I guess it wasn't too bad

He came from the mid 30's to 20th in both motos.  Check out the lap chart at the bottom of the page.  There are only a few who moved up the same amount: Dilan Schwartz, Drew Adams and Jordan Smith.

In the first moto, Jmart came from 33rd to 20th.

In the second moto, he came from 35th to 20th.

Uhh, bet on the past? Nobody said he was faster than everyone besides JCoop before round 1. Think about what you’re saying, he had 8 days on the bike before Pala. You think he was faster than Deegan within those 8 days?

I believe Matthes said on one of his shows that at the “tryout” JMart was faster than a couple of the Star kids on practice day, that's it.

Doing a marathon is a mass amount of time quite a few weeks of training for 1.  That’s the problem his body is used to long endurance & not quickness . Once he gets that worked out his sprint speed will come back.  My nephew was a great relay sprinter then he did cross country. His quickness was gone for relays . His parents sent him to a quick twitch retraining camp retired Packer players hv in a huge warehouse type of bldg.  it worked .  The 30a Midwest riders r probably happy he’s doing another yr of pro racing.  I know of 1 rider that raced & lead him at his 1st pro am . He’s from iL. & races d16 Wi. Every week  Real fast gets 2nd, 3rds at red Bud 30a .

Jeremy had to work to get the lead big gates but won all 4 motos 250a, 450a.  His interview he’s exactly the same guy as today , which is rare . IMG 3023 0

Ok so moto1 it took him 10 out of 15laps to get to 20th through the weakest part of the field? Moto2 it took the whole race to get to 20th? Either way its not good. As I said hopefully he builds from here and gets better

Agreed. I didn't expect him to already be in racing shape.  A few weeks ago, he was a tour guide.

Nobody was passing at Pala really. The track was one lined for half a lap. AP ate roost for 33 minutes trying to get by Hunter, it took him going off the track for AP to get by. The only way you were getting by is if you were 1.5 seconds  faster than the guy you were trying to pass. Can’t base anything off Pala. Also If you check his laptimes he was 10th-ish place guy.

Respectfully, what you’re saying is practically impossible to believe, especially when paired against what has been said. You’re saying JMart was the fastest 250 rider in the US off the couch but went 20-20 on the weekend. Got it.

I remember the same as you. Him and Alex both had mechanicals that same weekend. Something about a bad batch of coolant supposedly lol

I remember that season A-Mart and J-Mart were both riding great, but both had a mechanical at High Point. I think A-Mart was leading or 2nd when he had his.
