I was thinking the same thing watching Forkner and Barcia ride last week. Made them look kind of stiff.

Elevation would be better in this context. Airplanes fly at altitudes.

Chase by 20 tonight??  I’m getting the feeling we might have a snoozer.  I hope I’m wrong.

Time to switch off the TV & go for a ride boys… I would rather get hit by a car or run off the road than listen to one second from Gypsy. 🤢🤮

See ya for the night show…😎 👍❗️

Elevation relates to height of the ground relative to a measurement from sea level. Altitude relates to the air density at any elevation given the weather conditions.  example: air at an airport at 6500 ft at 90 degrees and 23% humidity will be much thinner than the same facility at 45 degrees and 84% humidity.

Altitude is variable, elevation is not.

Density altitude is variable. Actual altitude is relative to ground level at the location, so not actually variable. Elevation is relative to sea level.

I'll never understand why they think it's a good idea to make the audience watch little kids stumble through interviews. Thankfully this kid is actually pretty well-spoken.

Altitude is variable, elevation is not.

True altitude- vertical distance between object(aircraft) and mean sea level

Pressure altitude- indicated altitude when altimeter is set to 29.92 inches of mercury. Aircraft do this above 18,000 FT.

Density altitude- pressure altitude corrected for non standard pressure and temperature conditions(this is important for aircraft operations and performance)

Indicated altitude- Altimeter reading as shown with local barometric pressure set.

Elevation has numerous meanings including architectural definitions. The two terms or often used interchangeable.

They’re reworking the track.

Are we gonna see faster laps?

Will we see a 48 lap?

I dropped the higher end packages a couple years ago because of that.  Now, I only get the $20 specials when offered.

Because it’s an experience the kids will never forget. They don’t make these kids do it, they ask them if they want to. The kid or their parents can say no. No one in the crowd cares what the kid says or how articulate he is. They’re gonna applaud the kid and make them feel special regardless. Who cares.

From Google.

Difference between altitude and elevation. Altitude refers to the height of an object or point in the air, usually compared to sea level. We commonly use it in aviation to describe how high an aircraft is flying. Elevation, on the other hand, is the height of a point on the Earth's surface, also compared to sea level.
