He’s pissed about what exactly? He didn’t get his contract renewed? Happens all the time and is part of being a professional athlete. IF that turns out to be the reason he’s MIA, that should ruin his reputation professionally. You gotta fulfill the contract you signed.
Stab in the dark..
Jason has been requesting KYB suspension because he can’t get comfy. But being denied..
chase said “I’ll sign if I can use KYB”
Kawi said “anything you want”
It was being discussed at Seattle amongst riders, Jason said “fuck you Kawi!” And split..
on the basis ‘the bike is unsafe to ride, evidenced by Prado’s injuries’.
Tinfoil hat
Maybe I should have said "disgruntled"

Which one of them has as many titles/wins as RV?
The point was, by all accounts the team ran fine with three A caliber guys. It happens.
If what Cooksey says in the video is true 1) the “family emergency” was not true which is a terrible thing to lie about and 2) if he’s training so hard, who is he training with and where is he training? Training without Kawi team or bike? Not likely. The whole situation is bizarre. I hope he and his family are okay.
Does he have zero friends in the industry? Usually news of any kind spreads like wildfire behind the scenes and quickly leaks out.
If Ando walked away from the team over hurt feelings, its definitely unprofessional. Kawi does have a track record of not changing the bike to how the rider wants it. Thats for sure.
I guess we have a different definition of "A caliber"
All of them won races, and beat the best indoor rider ever, and the best outdoor rider ever via wins. The titles didn't come but if you don't think those three are A riders in 98-2001 not sure what to tell ya.
Anyway, back on topic.
Then Chase is gonna love it over there...
You sound upset...
There was a BBQ with Barcia, Hunter and Jett and a dozen others. Ando didn't mention the reason to them.
Oh i know. I'm a Chase fan and I'm not understanding the move at all. He looks great on the KTM. The way Mathes talked about it, the move to Kawi was about the bike amd not money. I thjnk the only thing holding back Chase is Chase
That just makes it even more weird. Trouble at work and general life stressors are the kind of things friends talk about.
You would think a bit of an update by now. So bizarre. Surely we don’t see him in outdoors. If he’s butthurt on Kawi signing Chase that’s insane. He didn’t do enough to keep his ride imo.
I was a big fan of the 21, but the last couple of years he’s really been on the decline. His attitude sucks. No interviews, shitty moves on track instead of racing forward. Priorities all fucked up. The too cool for school attitude works when you are winning and on the box every week. As you slide down the order you just look like a salty prick. Tommy tenders and team Fried videos did wonders for his career at the time.
Pit Row
I've been following along with the story & expected something like "My older sister went on an ayahuasca retreat, met Larry Brooks, and came back with breast augmentation." 😁
Think she’s single?
Prado injury is just evidence that the sport is dangerous. Brand had nothing to do with it.
Be like blaming Honda or Yamaha for the injuries Lawrence and Tomac have.
Brother....You don't know how much I regret that post!
It would have been COMEDY GOLD if I would have done a follow up on my first "my older sister" post with , "My older sister went to an Ayahuasca retreat and came back to racing with bigger boobs"
Comedy fail on my part.
I know that. You know that. Everybody knows that.
But if a rider’s legal team want to get out of riding the bike, they would claim “rider has requested ‘x’ on the basis the current equipment is unsafe for purposes, but has been denied by management”
To then be ‘proven’ correct if the next rider turns up with ‘x’ on the bike..
It’s all a legal nonsense. None of it would be logical.
Yes, agreed. To quote myself - “stab in the dark”
Really didn’t need you to highlight it.
But…. What if…..
Another what if, assuming not a family/health issue:
Jason learns of Chase's signing through a third party, with Kawi not having the decency to first let Jason know they are not renewing his contract? If your employer seeked out and hired your replacement before even letting you know you weren't keeping your job, would you hang around and see your term out? (of course we're not pro athletes that run contract to contract).
I root for Anderson and love to see him race when he is ‘on’.
But I don’t think that I could ever understand what his psyche is at any point or understand his motivations.
When he talked about how he resented his SX Championship, it seemed a little bit bizarre. People aren’t generally motivated to repeat things that they resent, so in my mind anyone who hires him should know that a title isn’t as motivating as you’d hope.
Like I said, I’m still happy to see him ride well and I’d like to see him do that more often, but based on his own words his motivation is enigmatic.
Didn’t he get sent on a sabbatical his first or second year as a pro to sort some things out? Or was that purely performance based? Perhaps he’s had some issues that he was able to manage until this point?
I can see him being salty about Chase. First AC was Kawasaki's golden boy, then Prado - who will wash out at SX, despite outdoors results, now Chase supposedly. We all know by now how this works out too, things that Anderson requested, needed, or wanted to succeed he was denied and the other three I mentioned were granted, whether real or not, for some reason adds to the resentment. We have seen this before in this sport, most recently Chase getting the suspension that Webb wanted all along. At the level all these riders are at now, where it is not uncommon for top ten qualifiers all within one second, little things matter. On a recent podcast AC stated he made 1.2 million his final season, despite knowing his lingering on going injuries making it hard to practice, develop the bike, or get good results. I can see how this would piss off JA, carrying the load for the team, while a rider not capable of helping is making 100K a month. I could see how Chase would be the last straw. That being said, costing yourself 100s of thousands of dollars by taking your ball and going home while under contract seems impulsive to me.
The bike was plenty good enough to put a 32 year old rider on the podium multiple times early in the season against the most stacked field we’ve seen in years (a field that includes arguably the most talented rider in history). Whatever demons Jason is fighting, I would guess the bike is the least of his worries.
JA is a washed up has been that has a problem with anyone that passes him.
