I think a lot of you people need to take a step back when being so critical of our commentators. I mean hell, one of em is the Greatest Of All Time and we are so very lucky to have him and everyone is so quick to call him out for saying something like “asking too much out of the tire” and that’s just RC4, Leigh did a great job tonight calling it as he sees it and riffing along with RC4 along with Will Christien giving us trackside analysis. Everyone is too critical, be thankful that you get to watch Supermotocross on tv.
Nah just because you’re the GOAT on the track doesn’t mean you’re good in the booth. He’s not even average in the booth. And we can all speak our mind on this forum about how terrible he is.
Hey RC!
I’m not Ricky, although I do have a photograph of him standing on 4 phone books at Arlington 2020,

I'd say you must be new here...but you joined in 2019.
This place is a cesspool of hate.
I wouldn't be so critical if they didn't suck so much.
Yeah it’s getting tough around here somedays…
Brought my kids to their first SX last weekend and it was magical for them. Enjoy the sport dudes.
Do I think people focus on the commentary too much? Yes.
But do I think the commentary is poor? Yes.
Hunter’s short foray tonight was better than anything we’ve heard from the ‘professionals’ all year.
its not hate if its fair constructive criticism , just because hes the goat dont exclude him of criticism at commentating & I for one is extremely biased when it comes to RC cause hes the reason why I got into moto but commentating ain’t really his thing , it is wht it is 🤷🏾♂️
A little ironic from someone that was hating and spreading negativity in almost every race thread over the last years, but you are definitely more chill this year and it seems like you enjoy the racing more again, that's nice to see at least!
I don't think it's as bad as people think honestly. I follow a few other sports here n there and let me tell you.. The MX community is very mild compared to anything else out there.
I’m glad there’s some like minded folks that don’t mind Leigh, Will, and RC4. Just a lot of complainin about broadcasters these days on here, I miss the old threads like Open letter to Cooper Webb and the boot cleanin guy
Turn the bikes and crowd noise up, turn the commentary down. Win win
Why do you think it’s hate? That’s a strong word and unnecessary in its self. However, when you want the sport you love to be represented in a professional manner criticism is warranted. I am a motorsport nut and every other form of racing is head and shoulders above what we have, MXGP, MotoGP, F1 are all head and shoulders above the four person swirling pot of goo we have…It’s ridiculous! Will is more verbose and is great on the podium and would be better utilized during the down time between the racing but she is absolutely distracting during the race. Everyone picked up on Huntah being very clear and concise while on the mic and giving awesome insight from a racer perspective… RC needs to pay attention. Someone needs to pull Duffy aside and tell him its UFO Plastic … not ewfo plas…. he has done it at least for the last three races that I remember and it is down right embarrassing … if I was UFO Plastic spending money to advertise I would be Irate! But if you are cool with mediocrity… that’s cool!
Yes, I've had my complaints about the broadcast, Will, obnoxious fans... I wouldn't call it hate though.
I’m convinced that he has some form of condition that prohibits him from analysing what is going on during a race… either get some medicine or move on RC
Shits good to me. Y’all are some fucking drama queens lmao 😂
To your point
It's because the Vitards are miserable in life and are pissed when others are not miserable like them. True story.
Pit Row
don't care for your opinion I'll continue talking shit.
This ^
OP r u trolling drunk?
There's a million existing threads you could have replied to instead of starting a new one. Clearly it's not indiscriminate hate. It's pretty well directed at generally deserving parties.
Hey RC, nice avatar.
If Ricky wasn’t such a prick, he wouldn’t be copping the hate. I don’t care that he struggles to string a coherent sentence together.
We all saw it. And now can’t unsee it.
I mention how trash the ufc commentary is on weekly basis on my mma podcast but I ain’t the only 1 , yal think moto has it bad 🤔 try the mma world 😂 UFC commentary hasent been the same since Mike Goldberg left us for another mma organization
I’m really not bothered by how bad Ricky is.
I’m happy to listen to him, he means a lot to me.
Diffey, not so much, as he’s not important to me.
Whenever I think about the hatred towards the commentary in moto I think of how badly the commentators in MMA get criticized. fwiw Laura earned that spot on the commentary team and she knows her stuff. Off topic to anything in this thread but I think people in mma are generally sexist and just hate on her because she's a woman.
It is genuinely not hate. If you have lettuce in your teeth after lunch and someone states that you do, it's not hate, it's stating fact. If you watch WSBK, MotoGP, MXGP, Trials, or even Speedway on TV, Supercross's broadcast sucks in every regard. As far as the whole, "at least it's on TV" narrative, that's like stating a restaurant with shitty food has fast service.
I’ve said all along that the focus on the commentary, as bad as it is, is misdirected imo.
I’d take the commentary status quo all day long if it meant we could change the production crew.
E.g. Tonight, as happens every round, they threw to a prerecorded interview on the second lap of racing!
The first race of the round, and we can’t even get a full lap of racing in without a planned interruption.
There were two of these interviews, where the riders basically told us nothing, in a short heat race.
And it’s not Diffey’s fault, it happens when Weege is there too, or anybody else. That’s a production/ director’s preconceived decision.
Improve the production and I think the commentary would organically follow.
I’d argue it’s not hate at all causing most of us to be critical of the broadcast. It’s quite the opposite. We all love the sport. Most of us ride and race ourselves and respect the hell out of what these guys can do on a bike and as evidenced last week, the major risks they’re taking out there. When the powers that be hire buffoons behind and in front of the camera to treat the sport and us the viewers like a bunch of fools it hits us hard. We’re a passionate bunch about the sport and don’t appreciate when we’re treated like that. Could you imagine a football game where they explain to the viewers what a kickoff or first down is? Watch Paul on MXGP then immediately watch the clown show nbc is producing. It’s an embarrassment to the sport and it pisses us off.
You're miserable? I'm sorry brother. Life is amazing. Every day. Some days are better than others, of course. Have you tried riding motocross? It might cheer you up
