Bondo - Weekly Complaint box

I usually don’t pile on the broadcast crew but last night was a few steps backwards in my opinion

And the survey sayyssss.  Bondo sucks

Strong work to whoever started doing this the last few weeks! Definitely been easier to know what's going on off the start. 

I do live in a cave so Im not up to date on things. 


But who is Bondo?

Bondo is the producer of the show.

There was a jerk session going on and then a race broke out. They were even kind enough to show a few passes when they weren't too busy blowing whoever the leader was. Will blabbing while passes are happening. A cameo IN RACE from some pajama ball player no one cares about. Cutting the race coverage with a half lap to go to watch someone ride thru the pits. What the fuck Bondo.  

There we go, more replays in the midst of action..... Battle for lead, REPLAY TIME, " I want 5 different angles, paint the picture, every aspect annnnd go".  3 laps later, back to the race and have to play catchup on all the action missed.  Every single week, Bondo shows he is not capable of his job lol.  

Huge home race for Max Miller. He is in the transfer spot... let's show the 4th replay of Deegan being an idiot and running it in to hot on his team mate. 

They have so much time to do what they want, still fill the sponsor slots, and make the program insightful and well done.  Instead we get cookie cutter graphics from a 1990's Apple computer, and a producer who thinks he is getting into Hollywood due to his great work 

Full screen replays and lack of split screens piss me off.

Bondo strikes again. Screen goes black then a minute later it goes to showing the stadium empty all while Webb and Sexton are racing hard.

250s missed a good opportunity to display a rookies first ever win…. yet we focused on Deegan they whole race and poor cole got about 45 seconds of screen time 

Im muting too much of the race. 

Just give us the option of no commentary, and the ambient sound please.

First gate drop for the night, leaders come past the green flag for the first time, and Weege throws to a recorded interview! We haven’t even seen one full lap yet. The production decisions are ridiculous.

lol I can’t help but laugh. The cameras aren’t panned on the right riders, the camera is on one person while 3 laps they talk about Shimoda. For the love of god. Just call the race stop painting a picture and let be. 8 rounds per 250 class and 17 for the 450. You can’t tell us something without it being in the race? How can everything be so bad? lol 

One lap into the first heat and we are already watching replays from qualifying full screen.  Bondo, you suck!

I also don't understand the graphics and general displays? You've got a whole screen to work with? Whats with the 80s style blue background and only use quarter viewing panels to show the racing? Then larger panels  for replays etc? You've got a whole screen, use it. 

I would love to hear an actual explanation of what in the actual ef goes through Bondo's head most of the time with respect to completely cutting away from live racing (keep in mind, the races are very short races while the rest of the night show has massive amounts of dead air time) to show something from qualifying earlier in the day. How he still has a job is unexplainable.

He doubled down on it and gave you two different angles of the Deegs qualifying belly flop full screen!!! What the actual eff is going on???

Was nice to see the gate drop in the 250 main, watch the leaders for 2 corners, then focus on Hammaker for 3 laps, with split screen replays of his start, then flash back to the leaders for 2 seconds, then back to Hammaker again. Top notch 👌

Even Ricky went “oh…” when they kept cut away from a good battles lol

I love owning a huge tv only to have the screen a fully blue color and 2 little “action” boxes when it’s the biggest race to date and tire to tire racing is going for 1st place. Keep up the great work!

Credit where due, the addition of a horizontal ticker during the split screen is a welcome addition.  It’s a much better use of the screen.

I guess it's a matter of preference, because that horizontal ticker immediately make me think of these memes

Chuckled when it took them a few ro realize they were showing the same battle on both split screens. Shimoda. 

At least they sorta showed some midfield action with Deano this week. 

Funny, the production team seems to be scratching their heads and listening? Giving a bit of credit, they shut up for a solid 3 seconds to hear the bikes before the start of the second 450 heat.  So give a bit of credit when due, as well as less interjections this weekend. LONG way to go lol

This  has been one of the worst season s I can remember announcing  and producing wise.  Just plain awful.  I too mute most of the event .  I would pay extra to just hear the bikes and crowd.  
Or go to Weedge/Bubba in booth and JT on the floor.  Other 3 need to go.  

a couple weeks ago I made the comment that it feels like watching a 2am broadcast of lawnmower racing on espn2 in 1997. This week's was even wilder with RC having to explain why he "OOOOOOOOOO'D!!!" in the middle of his sentence and crazy camera work and then just odd dead air moments throughout the broadcast. I dunno - the whole production team needs a scrubbing and we jjust need to start fresh with everyone from Bondo on down. Some of those guys producing F1 and Red Bull events and the like could put on one hell of a broadcast.

I watched a NHRA drag racing event last weekend and the knowledge and vocabulary of the announcers put SX to shame.  They knew the stories of the competitors, knowledge of the cars/bikes and added to the show. No clue how we are this far back. Heck, go listen to Kellen announce the Pulp MX privateer race with Phil and Brayden. Far better than Leigh and RC.
