I think Deegan is simply just a much better outdoor rider than SX rider. I would be surprised if he didn't win this outdoor title without an injury or a bunch of mechanicals.

When he is at his best he is. Problem is that We only see prime Deegan like 30% of the time.

I hope he doesn’t go Fox, for one reason, ever notice that PC and Kenny all wear fox? Almost every one of those guys has been hurt this year. Craig was hurt last year and in 2023, J hope not this year. This is just something someone else notice that really made me think about it.

I see Vialle and the new version Marv, at best. And that is probably giving too much credit. He'll never be the undisputed #2 guy in the 450 class like Marv was for a while.
Smith said in an vital interview that he will “probably be back on 250 next year but it’s up in the air”. Said they are in talks but as of now he is signed for 250. That’s why my guess is cooper. I wouldn’t be surprised if smith moves up either tho. Smith mentioned maybe doing a split program. Regional sx, 450 on opposite coast and outdoors/smx.
Personally, I'd like to see JCoop head there as the number 1 guy.
You are correct, I missed his Ironman win as I was scanning The Vault.
My opinion remains the same, he wasn't a threat for the Championship at all and will need to greatly step it up to compete this year.....69 points back, Deegs coulda sat out damn near 3 motos and still won it.

I am no Deegan fan by any stretch but you have to call it like it is.
Deegan's first two outdoor seasons he average 5.08 and 2.09 finishes. RV went 3.08 and 2.0 Pretty damn close.
I don't like Deegan's antics at all but you cannot deny that he has speed and fitness and he is not afraid to hang it out to win. I respect his riding 100%.
Is he RV? No. But he clearly has to potential to be one of the greats.
Here's the thing friend, perhaps it has nothing to do with fitness. Some riders are good towards the end of motos because the track becomes rougher, and they ride those conditions better, everybody's suspension is heated up and performing less than ideal, and he can ride with that better, or perhaps he is just able to focus longer than others. Jumping to the conclusion he is on PEDs disregards a number of other reasons.
