You know who the fastest is? The guy that crosses the finish line first.
The rest is just FUD.
I know Sexton wanted the win, but he was smart to back off when he got out of shape there in those last laps. It was a tricky track and Webb just handled it better. All things considered, Sexton looked fine on the bike.
If Webb gets this one done that will be 3. Very elite company. Reed and Stewart and Tomac who are considered hall of famers all time greats only have two.

Whew, I'll tell Coop he has your endorsement!
Who’s more under appreciated as a champion…?
Dungey, Webb or Gasjer.
I'd say Webb loses quite a bit of points with people because he's quite average outdoors. One 450 mx win in a mudder. He gets wrecked by a minute outdoors.
That’s fair. He’s been quite underwhelming outdoors on a 450.
Those guys have much better MX resumes. 3 will tie Coop with Hannah and Stanton
A 2-time 450 SX Champion with 29 race wins is a next-level rider.
Don't know how ANYONE can underappreciate Dunge..... you ain't right in the head if you do.
Well, typically,,, they throw the checkard flag on the last lap and Webb was the first one to it. Go figure. Must have just gotten lucky. Again...
Webb is fast. Webb was fast Saturday night. Yet despite ripping the start and setting the fastest lap early in the main, Chase chased him down and passed him. How?
Because it’s racing, and there’s more to it than pure speed. Webb got passed by Roczen too, and then got caught up in a battle that undoubtedly helped Chase close in.
But back to speed. If we’re going to talk apples to apples about speed then let the clock do the talking. Check out the data provided in the Bench Racing thread. Who has the most qualifying poles this season? Sexton. And who had the fastest average lap time in Seattle? Also Sexton. Why didn’t he win? Everyone saw it.
I would say Gasjer, especially by US fans.
How is it physically possible to have the fastest average lap time and not win? It isn’t unless you’re trimming data. It literally can’t be done
Because average lap time is different from overall race time.
This has to be a joke. Average lap time is total time divided by number of laps. So, since the winner is the one with the lowest total time, the winner also has the lowest average lap time. Webb finished 26 laps .794 seconds ahead of Sexton so Webb’s average lap time was lower by .03054 (rounded to 5 decimal points) seconds. Did I really just need to explain this to another adult?
This is 4th grade level math. This sport’s fan base embarrasses me

This is why championships aren't necessarily the best metric. Tomac and Stew have almost double Webb's wins, and Reed has 16 more. I do not agree, under any circumstances in any world, that Cooper Webb is on par with Tomac and Stew - or even Reed.
If you are wanting to focus on race wins, or even Championships for that matter,..in either case,..Don't you think that race starts/seasons are an important thing to consider ?
Tomac and Stewart both had 12 years of 450 SX seasons. Webb is working on his 9th. I'm not trying to make a case that Webb will achieve the number of wins those guys have, but it is still an unrealistic comparison.
Take it up with kaidodragon. Per his stats, the difference is only .11 seconds, basically a rounding error.
Championships are the whole reason they race right?
Yes next level........at sx. He's very fast ......at sx. No 450 mx titles and one outdoor win. Hes pretty far down the list of all time greats because of that
Change your name to "Is hillbilly" because your math is terrible.
I thought it was obvious that the focus is SX.
LOL
During the race you could just see the yo-yo between Chase and Webb. Both were making small mistakes, nothing real major, but Webb is just soooooo damn good on capitalizing on these small errors with other riders.
If only he would quit tucking his ears into his hat!
It takes a special kind of person to even notice something like that.
