Back to a 2 stroke

How is the 200? I have been thinking about one, the 125 is to small and the 250 MX'ers hit to hard for me in the tight stuff so I have to add fly wheel weights, etc. How big are you? age? Thanks-

I went to Mount Carroll this past Sunday and had a great time on mine. I'll be there again this coming Saturday so if you happen to be there and want to try out my 144, you're welcome to.

I am riding a KX250 this year, selling the 450.

I race woods/scrambles and sold my 250F and went back to the RM250 smoker.

Congrats on the new bike. The KTM200's are incredible bikes. If you haven't found it already, go over to: http://www.ktmtalk.com and look around a while. There is a TON of great info there.

I have an '02 200EXC(well, we bought it for the g/f, but I ride it more). I can't imagine a better bike for the tight and snotty stuff. It does pretty well when the trails open up as well. And we've had it since '04 and other than routine maintenance, I haven't had to put a dime into it.

I got to ride a new YZ250 last Saturday. I had so much fun that I will be picking up my new YZ250 this week.

I have to chime in on the KTM 200. I was looking at 450's 250F's and 250 2smokes but I have wanted one of those 200's since KTM introduced them. I was not sure if it was going to be able to carry my lard ass around.
After my first HS in 22 years I knew I had made the right choice. It is without a doubt the best bike I have ever ridden in off road stuff. It thrives on muddy ruts filled with rocks and roots. Then when I get to an open section I fan the clutch a little bit and it comes on like a 250 2 stroke minus a little arm stretching. When I do stall it it always cranks on the first kick!
One other thing it is a lot of fun on MX tracks as well.

I've been looking at the 300! I'm 5' 7" and a buck fourty, And wan't something a little bigger than my two fiddy. It's not a Kaw but it at least start's with a K, And it's a smoker. WTF else could you wan't? BRAAAAP bitch's.

I ride a 2 stroke now because im a cheap ass and dont want 4 stroke repairs anymore. I have to spend my extra cash on my boys bikes.

I went only one year without a 2-stroke (06'). And hated every minute of it. My younger brother who races A class (250F/450F)rode my YZ250 this past Saturday. He'd never ridden a 2-stroke 250 in his life. He loved it. All he's done since is talk about buying one. He's determined to buy one now.

The thumper makes a lazy rider out of me. And, it's scary really trying to hang it out on the 4-stroke...when that weight gets going one direction, it doesn't want to change.

CRF450R going up for sale in about 2 weeks.

In my humble opinion, the Penton 175 Jackpiner was the best woods bike of its era. Looks like KTM has kept up its legacy, that's great to see.

And I've never owned a four stroke dirt bike unless you count my 1968 Honda Sport 50 that I tore up oil field roads with every afternoon.

This is not the only forum where people are talking like this, its everywhere. The OEMs have to be listening to all of this across the country.

Man 'o man...I hope the fever grows and brings back the smokers in full force.

I basically started in 2004 on the dirt w/ a new CRF450R. I then bought an '05 CRF450.

About 5 months ago I picked up a 2008 KTM 250SX and I was instantly a faster and better rider (I ride MX only) and I immediatedly sold the 450.

I have no intention of ever going back.

I just bought my "first" four stroke..... a Honda..................

This is the year of the Service Honda 500. After paying what I owed on taxes, I almost talked myself out of getting one this year. What was I thinking???

Harescrambled...AJ sometimes has used Service Honda 500's on hand. That's probably what I'm going to buy, since I can't afford the $10K + for a new one.

At one time, AJ was selling one of his personal bikes, I think it was an '03 Bailey replica.

I got a good deal on a used SX125 last year and the first time I took it to the track an older guy offered to buy it for $300 more than I paid for it so it was gone the next day. It was fun, but as soon as I rode it I knew I wanted another 250f. I was going to keep it for riding trails but I couldn't pass up a quick $300. If I was going to ride trails most of the time I'd think about a 2 stroke again.
