Twizzler (MD) Started a new thread 93' CR250

I have a good lead to a 93' CR250 in Indiana for $800. From what I'm told it's in good shape overall and runs good. It has a Pro Circuit pipe which is dented and silencer and an oversized tank. My question is, do they still make 93' OEM tank and plastic and graphics? I want this bike to resemble...

Did any of you watch Real Sports on HBO and their segment/interview with Lenny Dykstra - the ex chew spitting, temper tantrum baseball player for the Phillies? He's now one of the nations TOP stock market investors and is worth and makes multi MILLIONS! Jim Cramer 'Mad Money' claimed Dykstra to be one of the most trusted and VERY best...

Twizzler (MD) Added a reply to HP difference 250F V 250T stroke?

Part of me thinks this new rule was added and accepted by the OEM's in order to sell their inventory of leftover dusty crates of 2-strokes. As soon as they sell out in a year or two...back to 4-strokes and the rule will change again. I could be totally off base here...but it would not surprise me.

Newport Beach is full of 20-30 somethings and has plenty of rooms for rent, so does Huntington Beach. Both have good night lifes and as mentioned 1 hr or so commute to LAX on the 405. Areas of Costa Mexico are OK too, but keep in mind the Mexico comment. Laguna Niguel is further south but the area is very...

When I was 16 I borrowed a buddy's new 87' CR 250 and raced it in my first 250 B class race at Red Bud. I holeshot and jumped the first set of doubles on the old double-double my first lap. Then cross rutted coming down the off camber after the double-double and fell over. Picked it up, took off...

Twizzler (MD) Added a reply to price quote for new fork seals
Did you try the ol' film negative cleaning trick?[/quote:1t4dz8ea] This trick does not work. Any reputable suspension shop will tell you that is a no no. The fork dust seal keeps the dirt particles from making their way into the fork seals. Leaky seals are usually caused by general wear or a ding in the fork tube that wears a...

Twizzler (MD) Added a reply to Mark Melton
Mark and Brett Melton are from Indiana. Some of these posts confuse Mike Melton of Team Husky/Offroad who is 10 to 15 years older than the Indiana Melton's. Mark's parents were some of the best and smartest people at the races in the early 1980's. Mark was a Yamaha Competition Support rider at that time. Yamaha had Connie Feist, Aaron...

I went only one year without a 2-stroke (06'). And hated every minute of it. My younger brother who races A class (250F/450F)rode my YZ250 this past Saturday. He'd never ridden a 2-stroke 250 in his life. He loved it. All he's done since is talk about buying one. He's determined to buy one now.

(I might have missed their rig) I miss the...

Local racing is "amateur" grass roots type racing. Maybe not what it was but it's the closest you'll find. The "Pro" amateurs and all the $ follows the BIG amateur nationals and that prized 7-8 race national series. Different strokes for different folks.

He was injured the majority of last season and didn't race much. He and his wife had a child. He is on a new team. He is on a new bike. He and his team are new to KTM's and there's a learning curve. All contributing factors. All facts aside, he doesn't seem to have that drive/motivation when I've seen...
