Have you guys considered crying about it?

I'm not crying. You're the one who's crying!

The Blair Mathes Project is up and they get into the subject quite a bit. Steve still trying to minimize it all down to not liking someone, and even equates his Race Tech Rant to Daniels video, saying he's also a guy who pisses people off in the industry lol.

Blair handled it all well, and definitely took the high road to Steves odd fatherly advice type commentary about it.

I heard Steve’s side of the conversation as repeating what he and JT had said and giving DB a chance to respond to it. I actually thought it was commendable that he seemed to be making sure he said exactly what he had said on Pulp the week before to DB. Agree or not with his opinions I thought it was the right thing to do at least.

HaHa, I miss that bike.  But it hasn't gone far.  My buddy that owns the property has it now.  So it's still in the "moto family".  My "under-powered" stock RMZ450 is treating me just fine now though.  Love it's power delivery and handling and of course tractor-like traction.

A few more pics from the day.

that's fair. there was also a subtle dig at DC/RacerX for what he wrote (cue Cooksey jokes), that i wonder about how much they discussed it off air.

DB could have done a better job of restating what it WAS about if it wasn't about personality conflicts.

He did say, he basically had to get it off his chest. He had to get it out to move on 100%, now he can. Right or wrong, it was what he had to do to move on, and he's ok with whatever consequences happen, in that aspect, it's the right move.

If you listen to his Unfiltered podcast on Patreon, DC doesn't get a pass from him. No subtlety at all. He's very disappointed with his much DC commented on it without seemingly watching his video. Got a lot of facts wrong.
That said, I hope this starts to fade away for everyone's sake, especially DB.

In my opinion, Ricky Carmichael is one of the most qualified human beings ever to comment on a motocross race.  Whether he makes some mistakes while doing so to me is of no consequence.  It is live commentary and mistakes are made by ALL of them all the time.  As for being nice to people, I'd be willing to bet any amount of money you name that you are not nice to people all the time either. He sure is, which is one of the biggest complaints about his actual commentating. He doesn't actually lean on that experience or knowledge much, if at all. Maybe if he just worked off his racing instincts and observations he'd be much better, but instead he defaults to the lowest form of communication like "ohhhhhh!!" and other cringy nonsense most of the time.

Even the people who support him in the booth agree on this one.

The thread that won't die until RC and DiFFy are out of the booth, niceeeeeeee!

I've stopped watching, zero f's given to what happens this year. This season sucks and having the worst announcers ever, makes it pretty easy. Been following since the late 70s and last weekend was the first time i just didn't watch. It's not racing anymore, it's a 3 hour commercial, and a chitty one at that. Watched UFC instead and had a greatttt time!!! They even have decent announcers, who would have thunk???  SX used to change hands every so often, all i can hope for is they change hands again, to another company that actually cares about the quality of the product. Might not happen in my lifetime, which certainly opens up all my Saturdays going forward! Feels great to break old routines sometimes.

The difference is RC chose a job very much in the public eye, I did not.

Lots of people are on the edge right now. So much crazy shit going on, finances being tight etc. No clue what's up with DB, but you can feel the nervous energy in public

Thanks for that context, Nathaniel, I wondered who Daniel was commenting on when he said he was disappointed in some comments. Was really happy with how DB and Steve interacted, because I was NOT stoked with Emig’s rant on Monday. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.

But enough of this rational talk, I need to go grab my pitchfork and go after RC and Diippy again! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!?!?!

I was more talking about the general fan/industry person gives DC a pass, not DB. I will give the pod a listen, thanks.

He has my full support in his current job. I don’t feel  a need for him to be someone he’s not because he’s in the “public eye“.  As a matter of fact my respect level for is raised for him being real.  This country has been ripped to shreds by people pretending to be someone they are not and lying to everyone.  Give me real all day long over slick shiny and fake.

You go to a restaurant for the food, not the atmosphere but if you receive your Massaman curry and notice shortly after there’s water leaking out of the walls it detracts from the experience. I don’t think that’s an unfair comparison

I am not asking him to be something he is not. But if the camera catches you treating a coworker like an asshole or a " fan's pet" like RC called Blair, don' t be stunned if people talk about it in a negative way. It's good you don't like shiny and fake, because RC delivers home schooled, one dimensional, insecure, illegible, inaccurate, and incoherent "real" commentating every race. Just the thing you are interested in.

It’s funny rc isn’t  being real. He isn’t being genuine.

He is fake the entire time. He fakes modesty, he fakes compliments, he fakes seeing things once someone else mentions it.

He’s entirely disingenuous.

Although RC was homeschooled I suspect there was very little schooling actually going on. I feel like he's essentially had no education whatsoever.

SERIOUSLY. if he was "real", ironically only the die hards would listen to him because he's devoid of charisma and skews judgemental. NBC has him in a lose lose situation for everyone. The inflection changes and octave pitch ups are the giveaway. In Pilotdude's parlance, the dude be faker'n a three dollar bill y'all.

I can completely understand where folks like pilotdude are coming from, no disrespect at all intended. RC's riding made him a hero to many, many people. But despite being already wealthy, he is insisting on sullying his image and the sport itself by insisting on working a very public job he is ill suited to and has no previous qualifications to perform. It is a shame watching him fumble through his job every race, it's genuinely sad. And all these apologists saying he is getting better, and the job is so hard, no shit. He's been at it 7-8 years, and if the job is hard, why are we supposed to accept substandard qualifications from the crew announcing? If a doctor, lawyer, plumber, mechanic, waitress, or chef makes a mistake, is it forgivable because the job is hard? As I previously stated why can MotoGP, and MXGP have great announcing, even RDL now is great and SX has embarrassing and even laugh out loud fuck ups announcing?

Buddy, do you live in reality? doctors, lawyers, plumbers, mechanics, waitresses , and cooks all fuck up daily. Odd argument you’re making here…And yeah, I usually try forgive other people’s mistakes because I make mistakes as well. To err is human.

But maybe you’re perfect, idk.

The dude doesn’t just make a mistake, even at his best, on his best nights, he’s literally horrible at the job.

Strange how different standards and perceptions can be.

I truly think it depends on your personal linguistics level as to how you perceive just how bad Ricky is.
