I appreciate the poll, but I cannot imagine anyone voting for RC unless it's a troll or RC himself.

I don't believe NBC really cares what it's customers think... but I voted for DB.

RC has a lot of pull in this sport compared to DB.  RC could simply throw one of his behind the scenes temper tantrums and get his way in most areas of the sport.  

Someone should send this thread to DB. Maybe next time he talks about this topic - he will have some fan support leverage he can bring up to the powers that be.

As more time passes, I think less of RC as the GOAT and more as a shitty announcer.

RC is an egomaniac, and a guy who thinks his status as a multi-time past champion gives him the right to push his weight around, blind to the fact that he is ruining his legacy by his douchebaggery and ineptitude. 

I’ve said that to my friends also. It’s ruining his image to me.  Clearly an amazing racer, but also clearly horrible in the booth.

If I watch old races on YouTube and he’s in the booth I pick a different race to watch, I can’t stand listening to him at this point any longer.

We will sell you the whole seat butt you are only going to need the edge of your seat! Or something like that.

How could you not think of him as GOAT?  Leigh Diffey tells us he's the GOAT 10 times every broadcast.

No offense to OP, but nobody who makes decisions on this is going to listen to a poll on Vital.      We've been bitching for years about the broadcast and it hasn't changed one bit....it's only gotten worse.

The strange and sad part about RC is, for example, in the gypsy pod he did (IMO) and excellent job explaining himself and his pro career. I thought it was one of the best interviews I've seen in a long time. But when he gets in front of a camera his IQ drops 100pts and some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is just ignorant.

Not long ago People have had the total opposite take of this .

  People were saying how RC has all kinds of experience and should be leveraging it and not going so easy on the racers. Calling them out when they were doing something he saw.  I heard Steve Mathis saying it, and I imagine that NBC may have also said something to him for him change the way he has. Many were saying that its his job to do all of that. And were saying that he was too soft on the riders and teams before. 

Perhaps some of RC's connections have even helped NBC ,Feld or MX sports put together some sponsorship deals too.   I would bet that when the time comes for RC to hang up his mic . That I could come on here and see as many posts about why he should come back or why he shouldn't retire from TV .  

I do like that it seems like people love to hold onto the good parts of stuff long-term, and forget the bad parts. That their long-term memories are more positive than their current states of mind. 

If only people could enjoy the good old days before they are the old days. I'm not saying not to point out what can be better. I am pointing out how overall everything seems to be better in the past for many on here than it is currently.  But in the past , people were saying the same stuff about whatever was the current thing.  People hated Emig and called for Baily to come back, If there was a forum before that I'm sure that Bailey would have gotten hate too. 

How have I never seen the '23 Arlington Blair Breakdown until today? wtf was RC's attitude about? I understand giving friends some shit, but that was some heavy shit with personal attacks thrown in. Once personal hits get thrown in, its no longer a joke. 

Edit: I said a while ago I don't understand the RC commentary hate...After seeing that video, I totally get it now. But I'd still rather hear RC than Emig, Ralph, Will Christien, or Leigh Diffey. What's the infatuation with needing a British accent on the announcing team? This is happening in America, keep it American accent only.

the broadcast has 100% gotten better.  They just have the wrong voices.  But the coverage is as good as it's ever been.  But you only watch recaps so how would you know.

I'd much rather go back to Ralph and Fro.      ...and Jenny Taft while we're at it.

Many people seem to have tried to persuade RC to use his extensive knowledge and experience on the broadcast to give a more in-depth take, yet he seems content to stick with the 30,000ft perspective, as Blair put it. 

I think he could be good, he's just got to be okay telling it like it is, which he obviously doesn't want to do.

And, speaking of Jenny Taft...where has she been? Did she quit sports commentary...or am I just not watching the right shows?

RC is an asshole, can't speak well enough to be a good broadcaster, and makes our sport look like amateur hour. 

Just because he WAS a great rider, doesn't mean we need him on TV. He was such a douchebag to DB. Ricky can suck it as far as I'm concerned.
