Bring a few more layers than you might normally think for DFW!

Looks like I am (sort of),  wife and I flying in Wednesday then driving to Waco to spend 5 days with our oldest daughter/son-in-law/7 month old Grandson (we make this trip every month- we rented a house 2 blocks from them so we had someplace to stay without encroaching on them too much).

We have been to many SX events together over the years, but with an infant in tow it makes it a little more challenging (and an almost 2 hour each way drive from Waco to Dallas).

So we are just buying the shittiest nose bleed cheap seats, so we can get in and watch qualifying, check out the pit party festivities, and then leaving to head back to Waco to watch the night event later that night (or probably the next day since the Peacock replay takes hours to load).

I actually just realized today that we will be passing through the area the day of the race on my way to Louisiana from Utah and grabbed some tickets for the fam and I. Anything i should know about the area before i go? Parking tricks etc? Never been to the Texas round before. Should be a blast

Parking is pretty easy to get to and it’s all around the stadium.

Not to brag, but I got second place in the 125 Novice class on amateur day in 1992, in the old Texas Stadium with the hole in the roof.

It was muddy as hell and they only let us ride half of the track.  Great memories!

I don't believe a word of that, you knew all along and just hoped it would work out.  Good for you

I have only been to Arlington once before (2021 I think), the only off site venue I can recall was Texas Live over by the baseball stadium?

That was a pretty awesome venue, but is there anywhere else within walking distance for food/drinks between the qualifiers and the night show?

This is my dad’s last weekend down here with us for at least 6 months, so probably not an attendee. If it were 20-30 degrees warmer, he might want to come with but I can’t blame him for not loving a cold snap in Tejas. Still might buy a few cheap seats just in case he goes to bed early Saturday!

In theory it’s only about 25 minutes away!!!!!

Don't you think they'll have the roof closed and temperature controlled?

Yeah, but the suspense over who's gonna replace him on the 450 is killing me! Or does this mean ET3 will be back so they have both classes covered?!

Tune in and find out!

Bummed I cannot attend, due to reasons I don’t even know. Recommend Division Brewing in old Arlington. Best red IPA ever. Straight from the vat. Enjoy yourselves, you filthy animals, please permit no further injuries. Chachacha.IMG 5753 0.jpeg?VersionId=7eRtPCC9QeiQ14ONGY

I’ve actually never been to that stadium and for some reason I thought it was like Safeco Field in Seattle. That roof covers the field and could provide shade, but the sides are still open.

Might be an option now, depending on how dad is feeling!
