he had elbow surgery 4-6 weeks ago, doubt he will be at the races anytime soon in any capacity. 

If not for his injury he would be an awesome choice.

They've asked him in the not too distant past I believe and he said no.

He undoubtably knows that bike better than anybody, even the Lawrence bros.

Exactly, he has a beautiful role where he gets to ride a factory Honda bike almost every day and travel to the races and enjoy them without pressure.  Zero reason to come back

If Honda wants publicity they should have Gajser come over and make a go at making the main at Daytona.  People would follow that.

 But really...Honda just needs to get DeanO back out there. 

His riding style is awesome. He had the speed to beat anyone on the planet. 

HRC will be riderless and unrepresented until someone heals up.

I hope Trey rides, just because he had an op 3~4 weeks ago, don't mean he aint ready to ride, if he's been testing the bikes, plus he rode the elec bike in Japan, he'll be up for it. I've never been a fan of Trey, but I think the series needs him.

According to Truman, Ferrandis is the only rider they’re considering and it kinda makes sense. He rode/trained with the Lawrence bros not too long ago and apparently spun a few laps on their bike. It reconfirmed his decision to get on a Honda and he based his current setup on what he felt on their bike. It would be an easy transition for everyone involved. 

Finishing 8th in Detroit (top Honda rider in the class), you have to wonder if factory equipment would even help improve results but I’d imagine Honda brass are keen to get a bike out there ASAP regardless if he is finishing in the top 5 or not. 

Bummer because I'd really love to see that. No expectation or pressure. Just to see try line up for a race or two. I've seen his YouTube channel, he still cooks

TC was a fast mother trucker.   But man did he have some brutal crashes. 
Another rider who if he backed it down 1% prols would have had many championships.   
I think the Dungenator really did have this figured out.

I really like Deano and have always been a fan....but MAN, did he get to be whiney toward the end there.
