It's as if the NFL announced in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl 'did we mention that field goals are now 4 points.' Everyone, from the announcing crew who doesn't know the rules (and consistently mis-stated it over the past 5 weeks) to the AMA who failed to communicate/correct it to Feld ought to be ashamed of themselves. Absolute amateur clown show.
And why was the red flag shown? McAdoo was conscious and apparently mobile. Was he in absolute need of urgent medical care in the next 2-3 minutes? He walked off the track. Couldn't they have red-crossed the whoop section for 2 laps?
And how does a rule get changed and NO ONE KNOWS????? Makes one wonder which officials had their bets on Kitchen. (And don't tell me they're not betting...who monitors that? The same crew who doesn't stay current on rules?).
I agree with the red cross flag in the whoops and the corner after, especially that late in the race. But they made the decision that they did and it is what it is 🤷🏻♂️
I disagree with the rule change, but its on the teams if they don't review the updated rules prior to the season.
Nope they don't get off that easy. The apparently incorrect rule was stated on national TV 5 weeks in a row. No one from the AMA should've said something??? I reiterate...total clown show.
the whold night was weird.
the track was meh. That was the most tame SX track i've seen in a long time.
RC doing his typical shtick that required a few facepalms.
the restart (What the actual F?)
That said, 450 main was fire.

Every week is a clown show..... amateur hour starting with the production and right down the line. I can get past the flubs in the announcing booth, it happens....but the rest of it. Horrendous. Imagine someone watching this sport for the first time and sees a win stolen from the clear winner with 2 minutes left because a rule took away his lead. Imagine them seeing the tiny split screen where you can't see anything. Imagine them hearing the crowd screaming and you're watching some lone rider on the track while some commentator is telling their life story.
It's a travesty to the riders who take on so much risk each week....
My wife was casually listening as I watched and she chimed in regarding the stupid announcing comments. She also asked why I kept muting the show..... I unmuted and she was like.....oh that is bad. Yes....good ol Shrill Christien with the babbling useless word diarrhea.
The rules are the rules, for now, as far as restart. The MAJOR problem I have is they let the race go on for a full 2 minutes, McAdoo went down with 2+05 left in the race, and then 7 seconds was so critical to the care of the downed rider. They never used the Red Cross flag but went straight to the red flag as they started waiving the Red Cross flag…..AFTER 2 minutes….without waiting SEVEN seconds while they could have waived the Red Cross flag…which froze the clock while riders still raced till they GOT the red flag. So…either red flag sooner, or use the Red Cross flag for 7 seconds. They weren’t even waiving the yellow flag when Max went through the whoops and passes McAdoo with 45 seconds left. Could the AMA have fucked that up worse???
Saying Cameron walked off the track doesn’t paint a full picture, he had the medical crew controlling each one of his limbs to help him get out of there
The TV package did not know...they thought it was 90 percent.
This ^
The screw up was not going red flag when he was laying there flat on his back in an ultra vulnerable position. About 2 minutes before they did.
The rules were changed over a year ago. Should the AMA, did the AMA, inform the teams of any and all rule changes? I think they should, even if just by pdf in an email…. Here’s the changes for this year.
What do you think supercross is? It's a big circus and the riders are the neglected animals. Been a clown show for a while.
It’s called “growing the sport”. 🤦🏼♂️
I just want to know who suggested or made the rule change for 2025? Was it Musk or Pelosi?
A summary of changes would be great, because I bet almost no one actually reads the rulebook each year. Maybe part of it once in their life, then never again.
This occurrence has produced some of the most braindead takes of all time. McAdoo did require immediate medical attention and couldn’t get off the track on his own while on the racing surface? That is the definition of a red flag situation. Did you see what condition he was in? They practically carried him off the track
OP is retarded full stop
Reactionary politics. Calm down people.
What world you living in bro? Rules and laws don't matter any more.
You know whats a clown show?
Cashless stadiums, No Parking anywhere, Way too small of stadium seats for a 6'4" person to even sit in and $68 for 2 shitty burgers and two "collector lions" cups. Ive been to 10 supercrosses in Detroit and this was my last.

Pit Row
This is the part that they think should be overlooked….

they do, also, if you run a million dollar plus race team, you should read the rule book, and as Cooper Webb stated in his vital interview, his mechanic knew the rule, it has changed before last year,
i think the red flag should have come out sooner,
Seems nobody on the broadcast knew of this change, last race they had a graphic with the 90% rule and the goobers at the ama did not say a word?
What a clown show.
The production team not knowing the rule and posting the wrong rule is just embarrassing, but that's it. AMA followed the rules although executed poorly.
Pretty sure that rules has been explained several times… ya know, at the Riders Meeting.
Well, you can then see where everyone's confusion is. If the ama makes a rule change updating the racers and the broadcast team, would not be asking too much?
And it was a bad rule change.
No, they do not go over small rules in the rider's meeting.
It was changed in 2024
Every single sport except ours, apparently, sends out a rules change summary at the beginning of the year to all interested parties (including the press). Don't know where the ball was dropped so I'm invoking my father's rule...all you idiots are grounded until one of you comes clean.
It's not the AMA's responsibility to monitor everything. They put out a rulebook, people should know it or not complain about stupid shit.
No rule was changed. If you want to say it’s like a ref calling a ticky tack holding or pass interference flag to give the trailing team an opportunity to score a td late in the game then I could maybe see that comparison. Other than that, it was with it was. Max had all the opportunity in the world to keep the win, he just let Levi by.
If NBC gets all that money and can't figure out a simple rule book what excuses will be made. Their constant failure to put out a quality product made this event much worse than it should have been. Lots of folks got fired up and are having a bit of a challenge letting go here.
They sure as hell make sure they push all their BS on us and get it right.
