After the reputation he's earned for his lack of speed in the whoops, who had CW2 pegged for 2nd fastest in the whoops behind Mookie (who was on another level)?
Tremendous improvement and it looks like reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated.
The surprises keep coming this year. 👍
I think we can finally put the "Webb doesn't have the speed" bullshit to bed.....
Coop was amazing tonight....the moving through the pack was incredible. To bad he muffed the start....but still, 2nd place is pretty good from where he started.
Webb is fast as hell don't get me wrong, but he still doesn't have the speed to run with Eli, Chase, Jett when they're feeling comfy and on it. He's a savy racer, thats how he wins races and championships.
Getting pretty damn tired of Webb making me eat my words lol. I was struck by how skinny he looked facially when he was interviewed for his heat win. Fitness is on point. Webb is about to make it a long season for whoever the other title threats shake out to be

Webb is killing it, looking good while he’s doing it. But also while we talking about whoops… da fug was Jcoop doing? Jumping them first lap in the lead. Bro even id try hitting those bad boys if i was leading a 450 main
Agreed, Coop is looking fit and determined. I would have loved another 2 laps to see him and Jason battle.
LOL.....Webb was turning laps faster than Chase in the main....
His speed is definitely underrated . Kind of a Dungey syndrome .
I've never understood people writing him off and saying he doesn't have the speed. I'm not a fan at all but have learned after his first KTM championship never to count him out. He is just so consistent, it seems when others yo-yo in speed and blaze away at first but then fade late, Coop just keeps the same pace and is there at the end
Something about him this year looks different too, and it’s probably just me but I honestly think he’s faster. Crazy to say that after the off season he apparently had
So Eli, Jett and Chase just happened to be off on the same night 4 different times last year alone? How in the world did Jett ever do 22-0 with so much inconsistency?
In the past few months Jett has been beat by Gasjer, Roczen, Webb, Tomac, and Sexton. Pre injury he may have been faster, but those riders have still beat him at times. Post injury will be difficult for him. Webb, Tomac, Sexton's, championships were not free, nor were Roczen's wins and outdoor or world championships. These riders, and the coming fast 250 riders, will not fold. Jett has yet to complete a 450 season, either missing outdoors or now indoors again. Cooper Webb seems in the cat bird seat for SX championship this year, maybe Sexton? Will Jett have the willpower to take it from then going forward......lot of fast 250 riders going to move up too.
you think Chase looked 100% comfortable last night? Reread my post...
You really think Webb has the same raw speed as ET, Jett, and Chase? You can never count him out of the championship, but it isn't his blistering speed that wins his races/championships. This is coming from someone who's favorite rider and has been since the supermini days. With that said I believe Webb will win the championship over Chase.
I must give credit where credit is due and at the same time, make known to you.
Because when you see is when you will believe that there is not another DJ with cuts like these!
Webb and Malcom had the best whoop speed. Webb definitely stepped his game up.
Webb has way more sprint speed then previous years. It’s amazing to watch. That said he doesn’t have that crazy elite speed of Sexton, Tomac or Jettson, but then again we are seeing how well that “elite” speed is working out. Maybe Webb has that speed but doesn’t tap into it because it isn’t consistent enough 🤷♂️
Did you even read what I wrote?
Pit Row
Yes I did, what do you I'm not understanding lol? You said you never understood why people said he doesn't have the speed. And I said because he doesn't...
He looks more aggro on the bike and has been throwing it sideways more than he ever used to. His style lately is more similar to the other top guys, whereas during his KTM days, he always looked kinda stiff and rigid, even when he was winning.
he was blazing fast on the 250 and he’s starting to ride like that a bit more while hybridizing it with the RC strategy he adopted for the 450.
he also appears more lean which I didn’t notice heading into the season.
