Feels like 2005 with RC, Reed, and Stewart getting injured (last season of the 2 strokes).

Bummed for Jett and the HRC crew.

It’s almost exactly 4 months to Pala. I think he’ll have some pretty good PT and be in as good of position as possible come then.

I don’t think he’ll go undefeated in the Nationals again, but I think he’ll work pretty hard to prove he’s the fastest guy on the track.

I think Ferrandis, but Savatgy has been decent so far as well.

But we all want it to be Justin Hill.

No, that is not it at all. Nobody says Jett is not the fastest out there. He is, without a doubt. But,  Webb did beat him first race, and Roczen second, perhaps Tomac the third. No doubt Jett is faster than these riders, but they can beat him, and did. Perhaps Jetts biggest concern shouldn't be injury but three different riders beat him in three motos at Glendale. Speed is not everything to win a championship, otherwise Tripes and Bradshaw would both be multiple time champs. Jett can for now lay claim to being the fastest rider, but the most wins - most championships not right now for sure. We will see. Right now Kenny looks so strong, not Jett speed, but he doesn't need it.

Why would we say that?

...Especially considering Sexton and Webb had both also beaten Jett prior to the injury.

Every injury is different, but Hampshire tore his knee back in 2020 and was back on the bike 10 weeks later.

110 days until Hangtown.

It wasn’t a snooze fest before he got hurt. He won 2 of 9 gate drops between mains and heats. Not exactly dominating.

He needs the break to give his fingers a rest. If Jett's recovery timeline were to get pushed through outdoors, it'd be fun to see Jo on a 450, though.

ETA: Hope Jett has a quick, full recovery, this season was just starting to get really good with Webb coming around to join the top group.

Please provide evidence to support Jett being the fastest rider out there this year.  No one argues he’s not fast (or wasn’t).  The fastest?  No.  Wasn’t always the fastest qualifier, only won one race.  Got passed and beat straight up by Eli.  Chase has 2 wins.  Eli has a win.  Etc etc.  no one will argue that Jett wasn’t really fast.  But claiming he was the fastest is ignorant if facts.

4 months? That’s pushing it man. He’s 20. Heal ALL the way up, then come out swinging next year. Too many riders rush on knee injuries. Honestly most riders never feel 100% again. This is the worst part of our brutal sport. Damn it!

I was just reading that interview with RJ. Pretty wild to be riding after 10 weeks!!

…Does Jett normally wear knee braces? At one time I thought he used Mobius.

I re- watched his right foot twist at the start of the third heat, IMO it honestly didn’t seem like his knee hyper-extended  or twisted excessively?

Not sure, but knee braces dont really help with the type of foot dab that happened.

That asterisk shit is played out. I never bought into it.  Keeping their body healthy and being consistent  is a huge important part of the sport. Just as going fast on the track is.

A championship is a championship....regardless.

Like, you re-tore it 3 months after having the original tear fixed? Oof, that's brutal. Just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and back to square one.

My own dumb fault for not being patient, now I just live with no ACLs. The pro's probably do 5x the amount of physio that most of us do though.

Shows how amazing RC was with such a low injury tally.
