Amazing pod by both guys! This is the most genuine and loose I've ever seen RC. Hearing those old Honda and Suzuki stories was awesome. Probably biased, but I don't think we'll ever see another time period in SX like the 2000-2007 time frame when Chad, RC, MC, and James were battling each other. Today's top guys are like machines, back then those guys didn't like each other, they weren't bro's, they didn't let the other see how they were training etc. Just a different era and I feel lucky to have been able to have grown up watching those dudes.

You guys still don't like Ricky when he's out of the booth too huh? I think he's a good genuine man, the best that will ever do it.

This is a good reminder that this guy was everyone’s hero for a long time. 🐐

RC is still one of mine! He is the absolute GOAT and was so amazing to watch. Can’t wait to check this out.

Blew me away hearing RC talk about how he knew he couldn't beat James and MC with technique he had to have more fitness than them. Dude is tough as hell.

When RC and Jace talk about adding technology to the racing, its's next level.

Ricky’s great in podcast form, he sucks on the broadcast. That’s been my stance for a long time.

Hell, he's even good on the post race show. Just seems like something triggers in his brain during the night show that makes him skip a gear or two.

4,700,000 in 2005 is like 7 million a year in todays dollars. Nuts

On a podcast, he’s fine, in the booth, with the pressure, people talking in his ear about whatever is when he makes his mistakes, and honestly, it’s understandable.

Agreed. He's always been great in a long format. The live format doesn't suit him

He very good on podcasts. Everyone has always said that. He's not good in the booth and he's great on podcasts. Both things can be true. He's absolutely The Goat. But he can also be fairly critiqued

Agree but had the same thoughts with the guys before them and when they took over.

Say what you want about Gypsy tales (I have been critical too) but his guest lineup lately has been insane..

Prado, Herlings, Daniel Blair unfiltered, Dunge, AC, MC, freakin Eli..

he gets the top dudes for sure!

Looking forward to this one. I enjoyed the Eli one too. Still can't stand the host. His worst habit is asking a simple question and following it up with a long explanation of why he asked it. Like, "when did you realise you could go Beast Mode... beceasue blah blah blah yaddah yaddah yaddah bro bro bro."

Pro tip, if you're watching the episode on your phone, you can hold your finger on the screen to fast forward through the bits where the host is talking. Made it way more bearable for me.

You’ll take that deal every time. Crazy idea to ask for that, but you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Props to his agent for selling his value to Suzuki.

This is a good reminder that this guy was everyone’s hero for a long time. 🐐

He dethroned my hero. I grew up idolising MC and hated seeing his reign come to an end.

But a couple years later he was part of the trio that provided my favourite era of racing. 3x guys who hated each other and just willing to push so hard to win.

It must have been so tough on the other guys lining up knowing they would need a lot of luck just to podium. But that era is made even better knowing these guys are all friends now who respect each other. Just so awesome how grown men can do that. No hard feelings.

I love how RC and Bubba can admire guys who challenge their records too and not seem bitter about it.

He needs to get Kdub on next, I haven't seen Kevin do any podcasts myself. I'd love to hear about his time at suzuki and honda.

Why can’t I see chapter 339 on my podcast app??

He releases them on YouTube first, because he's able to monetize and gets the views for Monster. Annoying but a good business plan.

Agreed!!! Jase must spend upwards of 60% to 65% speaking, which is just way too much for a host. He needs to learn to just ask the question and move on, without going in to some long diatribe about MMA or something else we could give two shits about…

With Eli he had to speak a lot to fill in the gaps. Although its as open as you'll see Eli, his natural instinct as an introvert is to give shorter answers. Like if roczen was on there it would be 70% kenny rambling. Different personalities require a different interview

Best part of that episode was RC talking about the possibility of Stewart beating him outdoors and he says, "There was no shot. I knew I could handle him."

Imagine being able to say that about arguably the most talented rider ever. RC was on another level in motocross

Understandable yes, appropriate no. I could understand a seven year old fucking up operating a nuclear sub, is it appropriate to let him do that, no.

Ricky is a real pleasure to listen to outside of the broadcast, but I also think he's gotten a lot better on the broadcast.  I can imagine that the pressure is real when covering a live, really fast-moving action sport.

Nice to hear the behind the scenes stuff too.  Does his son ride at all?

Toward the end of Eli's episode, I felt like I was listening to Jase interviewing a teenager with no media training. He's super short in his responses and took a minute with each to craft what he wanted to say. Was great listening to him, but you can tell he definitely doesn't open up like that a lot.

I wish Ricky wouldn't downplay his racing accolades so much. That is the reason people complain about him. He provides his opinions and analysis with the confidence and humility of some random they just plucked out of the stands. He's a bit too self deprecating at times. You are the GOAT, it's just fine to act like it instead of acting like everyone knows more than you. An expert opinion is no longer an expert opinion when the expert providing it always second guesses or minimizes said opinion down to nothing. Say it with your chest Ricky!
