looked into this the other day... Jim O'Neal distributing owns all of the one industries stuff, and they also own Alloy MX as of a couple of years ago. Alloy making a comeback? No Fear has been renewed as well and just being sat on. They are using the logo and leasing it out to brands like Hollister. Yes. Hollister. Has No Fear shirts these days.

JT Racing was the iconic brand of my youth and I was psyched for the re-launch. Then it happened and the execution didn't live up to the hype and I kinda think it would have been better off left alone. Don't be surprised when the re-make of that No Fear stuff that looked so iconic on MC, Windham and TP199 looks a little dorky now.

Throwback gear is okay as a limited edition, but to make only throwback gear makes you look outdated. Fox has re-released some of their RC gear and whenever I see it, I think someone held onto their 04 gear for 20 years

I think that gear looked best being baggy. The retro designs on modern fitted gear just doesn’t hit the same.

The problem IMO is the new products are always interpretations of the past. They can't be content with just remaking a classic product, they have to update it and refine it and reinterpret it. And they usually fail, bigly. 

I'd love to see old school JT, AXO, Moose, and Sinisalo done right.

Didn't JT do that when they first came back?   I remember the excitement at first and then it faded away.  There must just not be a market big enough to make it work. JT was making  casual clothing  based on the mx stuff the last time I looked.  I think that a mix of past designs and modern stuff would be the only way to bring one of those back and keep going.  A few  retro designs each year and current stuff to attract new customers.   

How in the world have they stayed in business for this long with gear looking like that 😂😂 I did have some Wind gear as a kid in the mid 90s in So Cal, how my dad got it, not sure 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I don't think old designs would sell well in bulk, so the big manufacturers probably aren't interested.

But it would be great if somehow the designs could be licensed for Canvas to make them to order, since that's what they already do.  So people who are interested in paying a premium for some classic designs could get it done.  As opposed to nobody getting it.

Looks like Axo is trying to give it a go again. Nothing in the US from what I saw. The gear they did for the Dakar Fantic team looks cool. Its similar in design to one of the earlier Dyemax jerseys.  

  That gear was some of my favorite when I was growing up. The mission control with the paint splats . It was so cool how Axo had the sayings on the collars, the logos woven into the fabric. So many cool things that I am surprised are not still being done.  

I think that if they just remade old gear identical to the old stuff, people would be surprised at how bad it fit. When I got my first pair of Fox  360 pants in the early 90's I was blown away by how much better they fit than the Axo and MSR stuff I had worn before. I wore fox up until the early 2000's when I got some free No fear gear.  The pant  was one of the worst fitting pants for me. I am a giant though. And I went back to wearing Fox after that.  Then years later it seems like the other brands have caught up, and I have Thor and Moose stuff that fits amazing.  Durability has just gone away in favor of comfort and mobility. 

AXO gear is bitchen. Especially the 90's.

I have noticed that Alpinestars has taken a lot of inspiration from the 90's AXO gear for some of their new stuff.   

One of my first sets of axo gear had a watch at the end of the sleeve and on the inside said “time to ride”. I always thought it was a cool small detail

And recently bought my first set of TLD gear and it has “pop wheelies” inside the collar, immediately brought back memories of the axo gear

They do remake those. You can build a whole 55 chev, 69 Camaro and plenty of others right out of a catalog. 

I wore AXO until they pulled out of the US.  The gear towards the end didn't look great and the pants always fell apart but it was some of the most comfortable stuff I've ever had.  

Speaking of older vs new gear...

I do not know why, but new gear do not have cuffs around your wrists. Same for the neck. 

Cuffs make sense for me because they keep dirt out from where it does not belong.

Just an observation. YMMV
