I like how he says that going for the massive OJ and eating shit wasn't his intention. No shit
Throttle issue on the bike? I wouldn't want that much power if it was unpredictable, whats the story here?
I'm really curious to know more about a potential throttle issue. I love my Stark but have a little fear of a stuck throttle. Would be devastating with all that power and no clutch.
It looks really intentional…you had your front wheel on the dudes bike. To bash the company and take no accountability is childish.
Boggy Man don't care...
Strange situation, I guess you have to take him at his word but that looked kind of intentional and he didn’t look very apologetic or perplexed at what had happened
And if it was a bike malfunction how did it magically stop and not keep the throttle stuck?
Unpopular opinion.... Taddy has always been kind of a douche to other riders.
Hard to say. Whiskey throttle on a high-HP bike with no transmission was one of my two fears considering electric. But looking at his approach to the jump he was not out of control, but it almost looks like something went wrong on the face, and he was on the brakes after landing and it looked like it was not stopping. It also kind of looked like he was trying to tap the rear brake in the air and that was not working (brakes work, motor on different agenda). On landing, I can't tell if it was whiskey throttle or stuck throttle which we know there is not a real throttle on a Stark.
It would be interesting to see what he would say happened there, strange crash, glad his ankle survived.
Weird. Eddie Karlsson is the second rider on the Stark's Team (world super enduro) and he's doing ok - and better than Taddy, tbf. He even got a P3 in one of the races in Deutschland. Theres must be 'more' to this story. A throttle problem in an e-bike is dangerous, sure, but its not like regular bikes have never had problems, u'know? Was that enough for him to just quit? Theres more to that...
Is this the first rider to leave Stark in the middle of a contract?
WTF was the other guy doing? Hes just parked there?
I’m sure this will bring rational and thoughtful discussion.
Don't all topics on here? 😄
Pit Row
The throttle isn't mechanical, it's a ride-by-wire electronic throttle. So maybe it could short out? I have no idea, I'm not smart enough. But I have been concerned looking at mine. I bought an entire new throttle assembly and I plan on changing them out every so often.
Copy.
I'm not gonna speculate one way or the other, but here's a few things to consider.
1. The Hirschmann throttle that Stark uses has a dual hall sensor setup, meaning that there is essentially a failsafe backup in the case that one of the sensors were to fail. I don't know what Stark's default failure mode is, but I would imagine if both hall sensors were not reading within a certain percentage of each other the bike would likely issue a warning and either shut down or go into a limp mode. These throttle have also been around for a very long time and were used on the Alta, so this isn't some new and untested design. It may be possible that there was prior crash damage or something of that nature, but who knows.
2. As someone who has experienced throttle failure on an e-bike (not a Stark, this was some time ago), I can tell you that the very last thing you do is pin it full throttle and aim right at someone else. I can also say that my body language was not that relaxed after the fact either, it's a little bit of a jarring experience to have a bike not react to your inputs or behave erratically.
Very strange situation and it will be interesting to hear what Stark has to say.
Subscribed.
Appears to be an unpredictable reaction of the right wrist.

Whiskey throttle with that much torque & power will do that.
Im curious of the legal ramifications of his exit and defamation of the company. Surely his contract had language in it that pertains to both of those subjects.

It looked to me like that right hand/wrist/forearm all go in a downward motion just before the bike launches. Looks like maybe he was used to rev'ving when up with clutch pulling in like you go when you are pissed at someone. Only thing is they ain't no clutch and the bitch don't make noise anyway.
Just my thoughts, I don't know the dude at all or his attitude but if definitely looked like he twisted that throttle to me!!
You see him lean forward right before then jerk back. I think he was trying to spin the bike around, by giving it full throttle to try and spin the back tire. Instead of the tire spinning out, it hooked up and hit the guy. I think it was 100% his fault and not the bike.
Was he trying to rev it like he always does but forgot he was on a Stark?
All I'll say is stating "unilaterally terminate the contract" is the most polite version of "fuck this company" you can pull off 😂
It wasn’t me!
