Keep in mind the tracks were all extremely soft at the rounds he raced last year. He looks good in the videos I've seen, but everyone else looks blazing fast. Agreeing with most everyone else, close to a top 5 in the right night, but won't be shocked if he's straight up outside the top 10. Also don't expect his starts to translate in SX.

Outdoors if he's healthy is a different story.

Humm...between 4th and 8th...and maybe a podium? and that he stays healthy until the outdoors.
but this is supercross...you never know...anything is possible!

I don't see any reason why he should be worse than 2024. Sure he's getting used to a new bike but he also has 4 races under his belt (6 if you count the triple crown) and months of prep.
I'd say 7-9. Maybe with a top 5 here and there if things go his way.

One of the best starters and he doesn't crash much. Maybe two of the more important qualities for SX

If I recall correctly, he even won a heat race last year, so it is not like he has never done this.  My biggest concern for him that may be unfounded is the bike.  He is going to a very different bike, and aside from Febvre, I have not seen anybody do anything fantastic on the new(er) KX450.  Seewer last year definitely went the wrong direction going from blue to green.  I realize that is the MXGP teams, but it didn't seem to help Anderson much here either.  Maybe it (and the team) will jive with him, who knows, but kinda like when KTM made a sweeping bike change a couple years ago, they went the wrong direction and based on results, I am not sure if Kawasaki didn't do the same.  I think the new KXs are the best looking bikes on the track, but at the pro level, something seems to be missing (IMO).

I could see him getting a podium or two in a mudder or a more MX style track like Daytona. Otherwise, top 10 and try not to get injured. MX is were he should be a consistent podium threat, though I don't see him consistently beating the Lawrences and Sexton.

Top 10 in this field is no joke, but I’d guess he wants more. Didn’t ditch MXGP for 9th in SX.

Top 10 regularly, maybe some podiums.

Learn, stay healthy and crush it in the Nationals!!

5-10 guy, with maybe a gang bang podium or 2, as their shorter races. He's also on an aluminum frame for the first time, and will have to get used to much closer racing than he's used to. By closer racing I mean physically, he's probably not used to going 2 to 3 wide off a jump as much.

We have a couple of guys on the back end of their careers, riders like Anderson and Roczen that we often see fade late in the motos. Throw in Barcia to the list of older guys to. I can see Prado around 4th-5th on a good night and would not be surprised to see him around 8-10th in some nights either.

The reason i mentioned the other guys is that sooner or later some of the regular guys lose their peak ability and naturally start to fade back, and if this happens to some of them this winter, it could bump up Prados results a couple of positions.

He is still fit and hungry to a level that i don’t see in some of the veterans that don’t have won anything in many years now.

I think he can podium a mudrace or Daytona, but in a regular night with Jett, Eli and Sexton at their best, he won’t be able to match that this SX season, but as a multi time world champion, he has the ability to adapt better than many others for the future seasons.

All he has to do is qualify for the main at A1 and he is having a better start than Huntah did last year. If he plays it smart he will build through the year, i think by the end of the series he will be 7-5th.

He's smart/fast/young/a champion and not all busted up, only thing I see as an issue is the green bike.  If he's dialed with his bike, then he will be one of the front runners.

And he's a marketing teams dream, he's gonna make a lot of money over here, I wish him well.

Assuming that most of the top guys stay healthy for most of the season. I think he starts out slow and might even look worse than last year to start out.  5 to 10  starting out and midway. If things go well and he's consistent, I could see him getting closer to the podium towards  the end of SX. Daytona could go a few different ways, if its a mud race and he is confident and healthy , perhaps he battles  and leads for some of the race. and finishes on the podium.  Jett, Eli, Hunter, Chase, Kenny, Cooper, Anderson, AP ,Malcom   there are so many solid guys that he has to beat .

I could see him using 2025 SX to learn the bike and series . And building towards outdoors to come out swinging. And 2026 being a more serious year for him in SX.

No matter what happens, its cool to have him come over and add to the number of guys that have talent and speed to win against the best in the world.

While Jett could possible go out and win every round, its not as much of a given as a lot of the past seasons have been. There are multiple guys with legit shots at the title. In the past if there were2 or 3 guys that had a real shot, it was a good season. For years we had MC than RC than   JS . And it was more of a how much will they win the title by and how many races will they win and the only reason they would not win the title was if they were injured and could not finish the series  .  Now we have Tomac ,Webb , Sexton and Jett  that its not crazy to say that any one of them could win the title.

Prado seems to be a ‘wise’ rider to me.
he knows the task at hand for 2025.
I can imagine him throttling back 5% in SX, to be ready for outdoors.

I do think he’ll start and finish every round, so at season’s end, his overall result will be quite impressive, even though he won’t have stood on the podium.

That’s my prediction. I can’t wait to see.

He is prone to cross jumping. Needs to stop that, or SX will end in tears.

He looks pretty slow in this one, especially in the whoops and turns. He might’ve just been playing around.

Does anybody know anything about lap times between Prado and Anderson... Are they any closer?

Win the opener like Seb in 1998 then settle in for 6th overall.

Different story.

Tortelli didn't ride the whole SX serie in 1998 (only a few races at the beginning of the season).

The cheater line on the edge of the triple bothers me the most on that video. There are tough blocks in sx so that line doesn’t exist so it shouldn’t on a practice track. I think he will be worse then last year, muddy tracks to start the year on a manufacturer he had ridden he’s entire life in a short, zero pressure situation versus now 2 months on a Japanese bike with zero experience, expectation and pressure from himself and Kawasaki plus throw in a preseason injury. I’m not suggesting he can’t get there but he has a steep climb ahead. 8-12

Lol. It did say Fast Laps.

Okay, well he doesn’t look like he’s “pressing” in this one 😎

Top 5 may be a podium if things fall right.

He is in for a huge curve, but with our aging group in SX, I'll say top 10's if injury free and that will require a lot of mistakes on the part of others.

1) Jett

2) Eli

3) Hunter

4) Sexton

5) Ando

6) Webb

7) Malcolm

8) BamBam

9) Craig

10) Cooper

See what I mean?

I'd take Craig out of there, put J Coop further up and of course put Kenny in there.

It's a different challenge now. Sure last year was zero pressure from the team, but he had the pressure to not get hurt. He had a job to do in Europe in March. You could clearly see how timid he was riding. That bit him in the ass in the whoops.

Apparently he has been rehabbed, maybe remove Malcolm, Barcia and Craig. Move up Jcoop and add KR. BOLD move on his part with this crowd
