Ever listen to Matthes JT and Weege do their weekly race recaps. Lots of ball busting... Ripping Weege for being cheap, JT for going to bed at 8pm, etc. Or do u think they actually all hate each other? It's BALL BUSTING!!!
That RC/DB interaction was a pre recorded segment (I'm pretty sure). Wouldn't they edit that out or re&record it if it was an actual beef between the two. I'm amazed so many think that was actual on air bullying. Crazy.
I don't think it would have been a good career move for him to start a beef with the GOAT. He was already making some questionable choices back then. Maybe Ricky picked up on it or maybe he had other reasons.
This is when the guy was hitting rock bottom and he has bounced hard..
RC can dish it out but can't take it. he knows he's inferior to blair professionally, and being the narcissist he is, everything has to be a competition. the way it was done in front of the public was heavy handed and off color. RC isn't one of the bros and he knows it.

A one off remark when Blair is not really in a position to respond isn’t really ball busting, it’s just a dickhead thing to do.
NO chance Ricky is busting balls. He had every opportunity to smile and slap Daniel on the back after his rant and say he was kidding but he didn’t. He has become very arrogant and this is coming from a HUGE Carmichael fan. Loved every minute of his career and especially his perfect seasons but he has been a big disappointment in the booth. A true professional would be confident enough in himself where he would not be threatened by someone like DB unless he really felt like he wasn’t measuring up.
I really doubt that was "ball busting", RC took needless jabs at every other guys riding he worked with on TV, except James. Blair was getting praised and Ricky was getting roasted and it chapped his hide so his passive aggressiveness exploded. Blair had no idea Ricky would be that vindictive when he made the quick witted crack about him hitting the boat, that sunk Blairs TV ship right there.
Was Blair the lead singer in a metal band? Sang “ get your ride on” or something similar?

Lot of RC apologists here. No doubt greatest MX/SX racer of all time, bar none. Incredible work ethic. But it seems no secret he is an insecure and combative force amongst his broadcast coworkers, with many not-so-subtle hints from most of his coworkers. I would think he has seen his own criticisms and shortcomings in the booth, he has said as much on his podcast, dedicating an entire episode to "keyboard warriors". And he has also seen the lauding over Blair, Brayton, and now AC, and can certainly see them as obvious threats. Which I would assume they would be. His firing of Chad Watts, Gosellar, and dumping Emig as his podcast partner over his career demonstrate his short temperament. To think he can be a champion and not a prick as well is short sighted, of course he can be both.

Aside from the video clip posted, can u give examples? I'm pretty neutral on RC, but am surprised there are so many opinions in this thread about him. Seems all opinions, where is the proof that he's such a problem child with these other broadcasters? He's even kissed and made up with Matthes. And JT has nothing but good things to say about him. Why do all the vitards hate him so?

I am not going to research or investigate back podcasts or video for examples to illustrate a casual observation that I believe is self evident and common knowledge. I genuinely don't believe that this is a shit worth giving. You misunderstand this topic completely, there is entirely no hate, quite the opposite, there is no emtion at all. It is simply stating an observation that is quite obvious to many. That you don't notice is immaterial to what others do notice, you can not take back what others observe by wishing it away. So as far as Jason Thomas singing RC's praises, as well as AC and Brayton doing it as well, they are all part of the same very public broadcast team. As far as even caring that RC is this great generous coworker, despite the obvious, that we can all hang with and drink beers or play a beach volleyball with ala Top Gun is way too much idol worship to stomache.
Still no proof LOL, just speculation and opinion of a guy you've probably never even met. Probably repeating other opinions you've read that support your opinions too.
I've got a little proof.... Go watch Pulp show #500, with RC and McGrath. 5 hours of him sitting there interacting with Steve, McGrath... and hey, even DB is sitting right next to him. I didn't even know at the time, but RC and McGrath have been good friends for years, even though they were fierce competitors in the past. And there appeared to be no beef, no awkwardness, etc on that show, even in interactions with DB. And they even talked about the beef RC had with Steve back in the days RC was racing, but Steve was finally able to get him on the show and they seemed to have squashed whatever beef they had.
So there, I've given some proof to support my opinions about RC.... he did not come across as the arrogant prick that people in this thread seem to paint him as.
Which doesn't prove anything. If you're DB, you know Ricky isn't going anywhere. If you want to keep your job you either avoid him at all costs(impossible) or just try to make the best of it/win him over with kindness.

Show 500 was great, RC's interactions with everyone but DB were as you say. He complimented EVERYONE except DB. Was it in good fun? Maybe, but RC went out of his way several times to give DB a hard time about LCQ's and stuff like that. You think DB is going to publicly ridicule or go after RC? He's not stupid. He knows his place.
Is RC a total a-hole? Probably not. In MY opinion, his humility is manufactured. Show 500 is a great example of a humble, but also realistic, champion in MC. He'll say how good he was but he somehow never comes across as arrogant.
Show 500 happened before the "Blair's Breakdown" video above. Show 500 was April 2022, and the "Blair's Breakdown" was February 2023. So things may have changed in the interim.
I posted earlier, Blairs Breakdown was not a live segment, correct? It's pre recorded. If this really was RC bullying him as many suggest, why would it not get re recorded? It's freaking DB's own TV segment lol, why wouldn't he demand they edit that out or redo it if it's him being bullied?? But if it's simply ball busting and in good fun, he'd let it be shown on air as it was.
It was posted to YouTube by the Monster Energy Supercross account. So whoever operates that would have to take it down. I don't think Blair has any reason to ask for it to be taken down. He doesn't come off looking bad.

I said back at the time (why are we re-hashing this? lol) I think Ricky meant it as ball busting but it was obviously awkward and the more he tried to fix it the more awkward it got. I've been in similar situations where I say something I think will light up the room only to have everyone staring back at me with jaws dropped like I had a giant booger on my forehead.
You leave it in because the only one that looks bad there is RC. It’s an easy way for Blair to take a shot back at RC without doing or saying anything. I bet if RC watched that now he’d be embarrassed.
