Well he is the first to ever go 22-0 his rookie year which is an amazing feat. Sponsors entire objective is to publicize champions especially if what they do is spectacular, which thus far his career has been. Do you want corporations running the sport to humble themselves and stop publicizing the very thing they want to capitalize on?

I see a lot of people making statements like this but a lot of them do not understand what it's like to make big money and how difficult it is to hold onto it and make it last. If he grossed 20m you pretty much cut that in half and you are left with 10m in your pocket. You buy a couple houses, nice cars, clothes, women's shoes and handbags, and you are left with 5m. Then you get a divorce and she takes half and one of the houses, so now you are left with 2.5m and paying alimony and possibly child support.
Pretty soon, you are in your 40's and 50's and only have a nice house to show for the fortune you made. And then you soon realize you don't have money to pay the property taxes on it for too many more years, and now you are out trying to figure out how to make more money to keep your house...
I can't tell you how many times I've seen this happen. A couple of them are former professional riders. If you don't know how to properly invest your milions when you make it, it will be gone in 20yrs. Proper money management is not usually a trait of kids who grow up racing dirt bikes.
Nor is it a trait of tons of celebrities who make a lot more than 20m. Whitney Houston lost 250 million, MC hammer over 70 million. Here's a list of many more:

Jetts bringing it up cuz hes genuinely confused about why so many ppl hate him, whereas deegan brings it up all the time cuz his dad taught him its rad to say f the haterz. This whole thread is laughable, but also a sad demonstration of today’s mentality.
The interview is there for all to see for what it is; a wry comment not to be taken seriously. Maybe it’s lost in translation because of the typical dry Aussie sense of humour, but Diffey’s lead in even states it’s humour, and Jett makes a sideways eye movement and slight smirk as he says it.
Yet here we are with everyone taking it seriously and denigrating the kid for something said in jest.
