Similar to my other topic, would KTM's recent financial troubles cause you to not purchase a new KTM for now? Does KTM's recent financial troubles make you concerned or apprehensive about buying from KTM now? Do you think this will have lingering effects of the quality of the machines or availability of parts?

Not at all. There are so many in circulation that if KTM somehow dissappeares(they won't) the aftermarket companies would step up and make whatever part needed.
I think a poll is needed.
I just bought a GG 350. Doesn't bother me at all even if GG is phased out.
They are not locking the doors so warehouses full of Parts and bikes will not just disappear and dry up.
Haven’t GM Ford and Plymouth all gone through this in the past?

My only concern would be future contingency for the Austrian bikes
I would be slightly less inclined to buy one right now... Not that I wouldn't. But all other things being considered, all of the bikes are pretty equal and it does make me think about it a little. But, if a 350 was the target bike, I'd still buy one.
I won’t buy another. But it’s not because of their current financial situation though. I wouldn’t be concerned about that at all if I were a customer.
I would probably try to look at different brands. I just bought a 2025 KTM 350SXF and this situation is not ideal from my perspective. This could affect resale value and many other issues.
I think the resale market is going to be real bad. When they start blowing out new bikes for way under cost the used market will tank.
This is fair and I suspect many feel the same way- If a person is on the fence about buying a KTM versus say a Honda, Yamaha or Kawi, I think this pushes them away from KTM.
I am sure KTM will make it through this, but its certainly a stain on their reputation- Much like GM needing to be bailed out left a stain..
They haven't made a RM250 in 20 years and yet they still sell pretty well. Starting to get harder to find RM parts but you will be absolutely fine with a new KTM.
Nope.
They make product that people need to live and earn money - KTM makes toys - big diff.
More importantly, the distressed automakers got $80B worth of federal bailouts.
I get what your saying but, bad examples. Ford has never filled for bankruptcy and Plymouth has gone under. As in Chrysler killed the name.
One of the best bikes ever made!!!
I have never seen a 2t with such poor build quality as an RM250 from 2000. The clutch was immediately jerky, and the gearbox was worn out after 2 years.
Best 2t I ever owned was the 1996 CR250.
Is ktm going away absolutely not. Is this going to affect parts and availability and quality nope. Are you letting the trolls who don't know wtf is happening get to you most definitely.

You misunderstood the question completely. Nowhere in my statement did I make my opinion on the matter known, I was asking other's opinions on the matter. Nowhere did I state KTM was "going away", or did I state I knew anything other than KTM is in financial trouble. Again I was simply asking people's opinions. I find that interesting, if you don't that is fine. The general lack of reading comprehension among adults is alarming.
Set on straight then Joe.
Set us straight then Joe!
No way! Between the 350”s and the 2 stroke lineups… I will go down with the ship if needed…I”m shocked they are in this much financial crisis… I figured they would have been profitable just from the Motorex oil sales😂
I sold my -24 350 excf last week, was it just because the financials of ktm? No I hated it very much, but I wasn’t gonna stick around to see what the second hand market was gonna be like when shit hits the fan
Not living up to your name.
Of course I'd purchase a KTM/Husky/Gas Gas if the price right.
But, that's part of the problem: it is not a marquee for bargain shoppers like myself. KTM positioned itself during its massive growth phase as the premium dirt bike brand, with premium expectations from buyers. Someone purchasing the most expensive mass market dirtbike expects they're getting all the stuff that goes along with buying the best: no cost-cutting anywhere in the build, unquestioned service/support, and high resale. The fact that none of those are guarantees, definitely takes some shine off the brand.
a dance poll?
I was blown away at the build quality on the 2025 KTM350SXF. It's going to be tough to find a replacement for that bike. If they can't restructure...the 350's will be valuable.
From what I understand KTM has 100,000 unsold motorcycles and 80,000 unsold bicycles. How did it get this far? Why did they not stop at 50,000 unsold? Curious but they had to have been able to read market trends, interest rates, etc., before becoming so overstocked. If anything this may certainly hurt used bike values. As Smokin Joe stated I know none of the specifics, but if anything this could genuinely hurt the brands value.
That's just what's in the warehouse. So many unsold units at the dealers as well. Look for big discounts, soon.
Can someone please explain how the transaction works between the OEM and the dealers. When the OEM is paid, how incentive from the OEMs are paid , etc… I am genuinely curious about this piece.
