Crossing borders into Russia with US made long range weapons that require US resources and personal to use effectively is a pretty large escalation that the largest nuclear superpower has established as a redline. That’s wild that you support dragging the US into a conflict with a power like that.

Just to be clear, if Israel used American made weapons or airplanes in their strikes on Iran and Lebanon, that would justify attacks on the US from those countries?  Or is it only in the case of Ukraine?

First, 2 totally different situations and scenarios. Israel already has the hardware, has for years and doesn’t rely on US assets and resources to assist with targeting, intel, direct training to the extent Ukraine does in this situation. We are not holding anything back from Israel and they just give us the finger anyhow. They have nukes. Ukraine is losing a war badly and desperate. Neither of those countries (Lebanon/Iran) are nuclear super powers or peer opponents. So let’s get real here with your question. Don’t pretend we need to operate in absolutes.

And to be CLEAR, I didn’t speculate nor convey an opinion on your specific question. I said escalation is a foolish strategy and foreign policy by the US and other NATO countries.

Sorry, I'm a huge idiot, can you remind me who the president was that signed us up for that recent 20 year war over in the middle east?

AS for the Missiles being used...and the silly things that have been said in reference to them...

Biden authorized the use of a 1980s short range battlefield missile system...the MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile System/ATACMS...that can reach around 175 miles into Russian territory and seems to require an 'American Presence' (aka, Boots On The Ground) to be utilized...this system is a battlefield artillery system that has been used during this last week to take out TARGETS INSIDE OF RUSSIA.

Vlad's response: his new Oreshnik hyper-sonic Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM) that can deploy Multiple Independent Re-entry Vehicles/Warheads (MIRVs). This system is designed to deliver Nukes...by stealth and speed that make it virtually undetectable to standard scan & track systems used for such things.

We authorized Ukraine to ATTACK targets INSIDE OF RUSSIA...for the 1st time in this war...and Joe did it just after the election. Hmmmmmm?

This is considered the most drastic escalation of he American-Russo Nuclear Conflict since JFK's "Missiles of October".

So, here's the question: Why does a Lame-Duck President (that's the literal term used) ESCALATE a war that's certainly not in need of further escalation or American involvement such that Russia feels the need to "Threaten the use of Nukes"?

Historically, these situations are left to the new administration and are NEVER "Escalated" during the ;ame0duck-days...especially by a man that's been deemed "not all there" which is EXACTLY why they threw Joe out and tried to slide Kamala in, remembrer...?

And. it must be asked...where was his cabinet...or...is it his cabinet that 's actually doing this? Is Blinken in charge...as many are saying...?

Cool, but not the question I asked hence why everyone avoided answering it or tried to change the question into something they could blame democrats for.

Also, I'm not 100% sure if this is the case here, but lots of times people talk about things the Democrats did back in the day that were actually things the Republicans did.

Most people know that in 1964 the parties basically flip flopped, so anything the "Democrats" did before then was actually the Republicans.

Oh dude, both sides have done so much fucked up shit we should all be embarrassed about large swatches of American history.

Difference is, I'm sitting here saying it, while you don't need to look any further than my question about who started the Iraq war to watch the cult like mentality of the current republican party avoid the question or try and morph it into something that also paints democrats in a bad light because they refuse to hold themselves to any sort of standard.

News flash, Republicans fuck shit up too!

I'm sitting here watching the new irrigation lines I laid this past weekend work their magic on the plants we just planted while grilling up some carne asada and reviewing a new contract we landed with a major streaming service.

It's clearly not as good of a day as you're having (I'm jealous, I clearly need some time out in nature) but I'm enjoying life!

2 people were between your question and my answer. One being byke, who seems generally sympathetic to your cause, the other was manny, who … just seems to MARCH TO HIS OWN DRUM. Is that really avoiding you?

But I guess I don’t understand why you think that’s such a great point? Republicans did something bad 20 years ago so now they’re not allowed to talk about war being bad? I thinks it’s also pretty simplistic to imply that the Republican Party of 2002 is the same as the Republican Party today.

Wombodingly doing his usual liberal, deflection antics.

Changing the script from the current democrat administration's fucked up mess, to past administration's messes.

Hey boy, we're talking about the current bullshit in Ukraine.

Which has nothing to do with any past administration.

If you think what's going on in Ukraine has nothing to do with any past administrations you are hands down the least qualified person to ever talk about what's going on in Ukraine.

Sorry, boy.

Dear Russia,

If you're listening... Well. Fucking. Played. Not only did you get Joey to say one of the dumbest things in this history of non-moto, "we're talking about the current bullshit in Ukraine which has nothing to do with any past administration", but you played all them red-blooded patriots so well with your propaganda skills that they won't call out his absolutely moronic statement because it'll require them to admit people in the republican party are dumb too so they focus all their energy on the liberal. Well. Fucking. Played.

Sincerely and with a hearty whatever "get fucked" translates to in Russian,
- Wombat

I live in self-employed and am taking the rest of the week off to catch up / hang out with friends and family for the holiday.

Have a good one, dude!

It seems the Democrats have been fighting poverty for decades, and the Republicans have been fighting big government for decades.
