You don’t find it interesting that they payed Webb that was Jett’s ”title threat” this winter? THAT would have been a conflict of interest.

But on the other side, Webb has kept it professional with the family, never bad mouthed them and praised Jett when asked about him.

Maybe if the Deegans had acted the same, the outcome could have been different…

I found it very interesting that the biggest threat to jett this year is allowed to race him.

They all have certain advantages and disadvantages. Jett technically turned pro at 14. EMX is legit, while DNGR was stuck in the usa amateur system. Jett had an older brother to be the ginny pig so that Jett wouldn’t have to make all the mistakes hunter did(heard that one from Dazzy). They’re careers have been identical up to this point. This year DNGR should dominate much like Jett did in year 3, then hopefully he doesn’t sandbag 250 SX in 26 like Jett did. Your guy would probably have 1 more real title for you to brag about if he didn’t pull that pussy move.

Tramp stamps are almost as trashy as a bunch of tattoos all over your hands.

So is the actual crux of the matter the fact that the Lawrences didn't want to take a hit out of their own hip pocket for (of all people) Haiden Deegan?

Why is it at all surprising that they would want to take a hit for him?  I think the Deegs drained the good will bucket with them a long time ago...especially with Hunter.  Why would he expect any good will back?

This drama has an origin before this latest episode and will likely continue for years.

Good.

Compare their first 19 starts outdoors now. Both have been top notch 250 riders. Whether it will continue on an upward trajectory for Deegan remains to be seen, but so far I think Deegan’s stats have been slightly better outdoors when compared to Jett’s first two seasons.

Jett raced Jmart and Ferrandis in his first season in 2020 while being 16 years old. Lmao.
You really think it makes sense to compare those stats if they race different riders? Absolute nonsense to compare 250 stats in the first place.

Yes, there was a time when cool riders had cool nicknames. Haiden has 38, danger boy, DNGR, and deegz. Maybe he can take The General over?….you guys have the Jett lol

It does make sense to compare two 250 careers of fast teenagers. Don’t be so sensitive.

Bro, it only makes sense to compare careers when it makes the rider I like look better.

Deegan has had 24 outdoor starts at this point so let’s compare those:

Deegan 24 starts, 17 top 5, 15 podiums, 7 wins.

Hayden was 16 years 7 months on debut.

Jett 24 starts, 15 top 5, 9 podiums, 5 wins.

Jett was 16 years 3 days on debut.

My take on it is this. The event was already close to sold out/sold out so from a money stand point, the Lawrences saw money being taken out of their pocket because Deegan wanted his cut. Had the event been struggling with sales it could have ended up a different story. IMO active riders should not be anywhere close to event promo. Could you imagine Sexton being partnered with Feld and being like "Hmm sales are really good this year, i don't need so and so lining up against me. Shit is dumb

Funny you mentioned Feld...

Pro racing is part of the entertainment industry, Tom Cruise makes more money from producing films than upfront payments for staring in films, it's smart of the Lawrence family to become involved in event promotion.

So after reading it....Lawrences are in the business part of Aus-X, but are also racing it. Directly making paid-opponent attendance decisions if certain riders will be given the invite. If that's not a blatant "conflict of interests", I don't know what is. Just like how a fighter can't bet on his own fight because he can directly affect the outcome. Their reason being, "we don't have any other top riders lined up to compete with him, so we'll revoke the deal" is the lamest excuse I've heard in a while.

Obviously you didn’t comprehend it the first dozen or so times it’s been said in this thread - Deegan wasn’t stopped from entering, the event owners just decided not to pay him appearance money.

Yes, this winter as in 2024. You know where Webb was closest in points etc?

You really think it makes sense to compare those stats if they race different riders? Absolute nonsense to compare 250 stats in the first place.

Deegan raced a two-time MX2 World Champion, who won the MXoN in his class in 2023 and won the MXoN qualifier in 2024, against the world's beat 250 racers.

Comparing stats could never figure in all the variables, but it doesn't mean they are meaningless.

Strange how the way it has blown up. I am sure unexpected by the brothers. You are not going to Out Deegan the Deegan's.

I mean I have been thinking and maybe this whole shitshow could be worth more juice to folks like that than the 100K.

Is everyone glossing over the fact that they want him there on a 450 next year, to actually race them? Or does that get in the way of a good outrage?

Painful to read…. Wild that people want to compare a one off international event that’s a exhibition race to a full blown AMA championship series.

Apples and oranges 😂😂

I still find it funny this sport has had more drama with Deegans name involved in it in the past 2 years than this sports had in the past 10.

TP199 wasn’t lying though when he said Brian loves to create narratives to benefit his own brand. Even if that in at the expense of others.
It’s working I guess.

Here’s for sure an unpopular take. I love the Deegan crew and love the Lawrence crew. They all entertain me very much and they all super appreciate their fans. The rest of the drama is as important as pro wrestling. If you’ve been to the races and have seen the way Deegan and the Lawrence brothers treat their fans compared to some of the other guys you’d be shocked. Those 3 kids are so much more popular than the other riders and they treat their fans like friends. It is impressive and shows how good they were raised. And yeah. I’m saying Deegan was raised right as well. Lot of people like to hate on Brian.

Good.

The 'find out' after you 'fuck around' isn't always a punch in the face haha.. Sometimes it's not getting a hundred grand and a trip to Australia
