Thumbs down on Artic Cat’s actions, not your post. Corporate greed and unrealistic growth expectations coming out of Covid. Too many companies got overzealous from the Covid boom. Unfortunate.

Totally agree.  I overpaid for a fancy mountain bike during corvid, been told that industry took it in the teeth as well.

It’s a bloodbath right now in the MTB sector and outdoor industry as a whole.

Just following Polaris and Ski Doo’s lead, sadly Cat gets the same type of treatment as Suzuki..

The no snow winter last year has to be a part of this. I have an uncle in Northern Wisconsin who lives to snowmobile and he was barely able to ride last winter.

What's weird is that consumer spending is still strong, but new/used vehicles of all types have been taking a beating.

These RIF (reduction in force) memos are running rampant in a lot of industries right now, and it will get much worse before it gets better.  Everything is in the shitter.  This new President has quite the job on his hands to turn this shit show of an economy around that he's inheriting.  It's going to take a long time to turn the ship around.

Yep trails didn’t even open in most places north of hwy 29, the traditional Mecca of snowmobiling in WI. Many businesses up north were hurting and so far this year we have had no traces of snow or freezing weather. Trails by me were open for two weeks. The rumor is the AWSC (does out funds for trail maintenance) is millions in the red. Will be ugly if we have back to back “bad” winters.

The economy quite literally has never been stronger. The new presidents dumbass economic concept of a plan is the cause of all this across every industry

Arctic Cat made their own bed on the 4 wheel side of the house.  A few years ago their parent company Textron made a decision to rebrand their ATVs and side by sides to be sold under the Tracker brand exclusively at Bass Pro Shops/Cabelas.  The retail price of these Trackers were lower than the invoice price of the identical Arctic Cats sold at Powersports dealerships.  On top of that, during Covid nearly all of their limited production was dedicated to producing Trackers for BPS.  Bass Pro Shops lacked the service departments necessary to fix the Trackers, so customers were bringing these Trackers to Arctic Cat dealers to solve their problems.  This caused a revolt among Arctic Cat dealers (rightfully so), and most of them stopped ordering product.
On the snowmobile side of things, global warming has crushed US snowmobile sales for every brand.  Yamaha stopped producing snowmobiles altogether.  I have a cousin that has a cabin in the UP, and even in the UP there was very little snow last year.  Arctic Cat has one problem they created themselves, and another one created by climate change.

I think two things are true at the same time, markets keep breaking records, literally never been stronger, but somehow at the same time if feels like we're in a soft recession and there's no denying it by certain metrics, like certain types of vehicle sales.

It's clear some of the uninformed here are confusing the stock market with the economy.  The market is up and sentiment just spiked with the election results, but that doesn't mean the economy is doing well.

Yeah they're definitely not 1:1, but the #1 thing that moves markets is buying stocks, so there's lots of spending happening out there. Consumer spending is doing well too, which you have-to-have money in order to spend it. But, there are different tiers of spending where certain items get hit first and my guess is recreational vehicles get hit first because they're expensive and 100% recreational.

Early 2021 the economy crashed hard. 50-80,000 bankruptcies a week in the trucking industry.  Thousands of brokerage co.s too some weeks more than than trucking  co.s.  Much worse than in 08. No freight is thd main reason. But  maintenance, parts, insurance sky rocketing added to it.  Everyone is wondering when will everything else crash ?  Sled prices 21,999 for a Thunder cat ? I can buy a semi truck cheaper rt now.  They lost the blue collar buyer at 8k.  I Really Like the older sleds the eL Tigre 6000, 1979, Kawasaki 79 intruder, ski doo blizzard 9500, Formula MX, Mach 1,s Look tits.  The tear drop cut outs on that bullet hood, cool seat too. Me at 10 in my moms hat, jacket 1966 panther 8 hp Kohler 4-st engine with stock 5 in straight pipe exhaust. Haha .  I was happy I got it started . They added a kick stand on the back it was soo hard to start.  Lift the back & kick the stand down. And leave it run. IMG 7014 3.jpeg?VersionId=C4w4VhEFutwijdQgMLa5PIMG 7007 3

It's a bit annoying to hear so many complaints about pricing and also see everyone spending like mad. It's crazy how many nice cars there are everywhere you go. I was raised a little differently, that where you're a brokedick, you drive a $1500 Camry, not finance a fucking $50,000 new car.

Go talk to some of the dealerships. Their hurting lots of cars/trucks sitting on the lot. Repos are hovering right at the breaking point of going into the 08 recession. A couple weeks back I was at an IAA Insuranc auto auction had a buddy who was at a Tennessee dealer auto auction. Talking to the people at IAA and from what je was saying at dealers. Car sales are in the dumps for anything that's over 40k. That's also what the owners of Rizza ford and the finance manager at Berman dodge jeep ram ect.

It changes Bolingbrook, crest wood , mrelrose park, etc 2 taxes on some of them. Oklahoma another high state tax state. I bought a electric frying pan in Tn. I figured out the tax . Then figured out how much money I could save buy frying chicken breast vs buying sandwiches at a the ts. Which did the any.

I am not sure why you got downvoted but you are 100% correct. We started out as a dealer in 2016, just before Arctic Cat was bought out by Textron. Initially everything was great, we put up some solid sales numbers our first year. Followed that up with a stellar second year and were really excited to expand more in our third year. Arctic Cat then began fumbling the football with their products and their product timing. For example they would release a new model (Wildcat XX) and then not have them available for an additional eight months with delay after lie after delay. They also change the name from Arctic Cat to Textron off-road during that time, talk about STUPID. Then out of the blue we were told we were no longer going to be a Textron dealer. We put up great numbers and had very few issues.....Turns out they booted 85% of their smaller dealers to move the dealerships to Bass Pro Shop. Many long time dealers were given the boot with no option to stay with the brand. Arctic Cat (more importantly Textron) can fuck right off. That POS company can go bankrupt 15 times in a row for all I care. They employed some of the absolute dumbest middle management people I have ever met, and it is starting to show.
