I was going to make it but I just found out I'm only getting a 2.5% COLA for next year.
I'm busy taking foot pics for OnlyFans so I can buy groceries and premix...and looking for an 80 year old childless millionaire widow with a bad ticker.😂
Well that's no excuse!!!
Give 'em hell!
Great time today. Should be on every motorcycle fanatics bucket list. The museum alone is worth the trip. Went to the museum at the Birmingham SX round last year. But the Vintage Fest is icing on the cake. Vintage Roadracing. Vintage Motocross on the amazing new track. The endless swap meet. Demo rides. Even saw the new Triumph 450 RC Edition. Looks amazing by the way. And so many bikes there. A few legends as well. King Kenny Roberts. And Junior. And I randomly ran into Mr. Daytona, Scott Russell, in the paddock area.
I did my first AHRMA MX. The new track they built was amazing. It was expensive for the weekend but I really enjoyed it. My racing sucked but I still had a smile on my face.
Not how I wanted it to end though.
I rode the modern classes for the Friday practices. Track had a great flow all the way around and felt high speed but was also pretty tame (as you’d expect for a vintage festival)
Hope they keep it open year round cause riding at Barber is such a cool thing.
I went to Vintage Fest for the first time with my 3 year old son making sure to get his addiction started young. We went mainly for the motocross side of things and to check out the new track. But I was seriously blown away with the whole festival. The road racing was experience in itself if you’ve never watched it in person before and the museum never gets old even though I’ve been 5-6 times. With the addition of the new moto track at a facility like barbers this could eventually become the premier place to hold a vintage motocross event.
Track was amazing! It was expensive but well worth it. The festival is a great time and any motorcycle fan should visit the museum at least once in their lifetime. I can’t wait for them to do an open practice for modern bikes and really rip it deep.
Here’s a couple pictures of my wife doing the 100cc race.
That track looks nice! I hope they turn it into a National level track, at least able to support a National. The facility there is beyond description. I’ve ridden the road course a few times. Then there is the museum, amazing.
Yeah the track looks amazing. I,m not really into museums until I,m there. How good is it ? I was at the Indy 500 track museum in 97 that was cool. They had a theater the history of the track is something else. I got my ama card last week a girl Madison was super cool. She cut me a deal & said you hv to check out our museum. I told her some funny stories about Ohio & trucking. She’s like you hv to stop by next time & check our museum out. Is the ama museum a good 1 too ?
I was there and the entire event was awesome. Insane amount of people attend this event each year.
I was road racing so did not make it over to the MX track but everyone was saying the track looked great. Maybe next year I'll try and do MX and Road.
As good as it gets! The museum is the coolest I've been to including anything Smithsonian, the Luve, etc. If you are a gear head, you just have to go! There's not just motorcycles, they've got vintage boat motors and indy cars and just rad stuff that you've either never seen before or only heard stories of. The building itself is a work of art, atrium style with lots of glass that overlooks the road race track. If you go during the week you will have an amazing view of the porsche racing schools ripping while you're checking out the museum.
Pit Row
I've got to get to Barber.
I'd long seen that they had a Ducati Supermono there, and had seen a White Supermono type Bike in the background of some videos. And then learned that they were making their own, modern Supermono.
And , finally last year they had Pierre Terblanche (along with Kevin Cameron) there to discuss the original Supermono and the MHR project he worked on. Then they went onto the Barber Supermono project :

Just amazing stuff.
The Vintage Festival is something for the future for me, that's for sure.
A National MX round there, would be fantastic.
It's amazing for sure, the bottom floor is the shop area and George's personal stuff like the Lotus cars and boat motors. It's only open at specific events, so it's best to check ahead because you normally can't get down there.
There's a good chance I'll be there doing the road racing and moto next year.. I might have to get the SV out for old time sakes and come beat up on you 😁
