Exactly

Plus it's early in the year, let's see what happens in Texas. Might shed some more light on the situation with 800 speed in terms of how he is stacking up.

Always love it when someone calls out stupid people and make spelling errors in the process. This one is even etched in pixels.

But they got it right the second time they wrote that word. That has to count for something.

I don't think MA would pull over for anybody even if Tony told him to. Hell maybe it was on here but I saw an interview where he said those extra 5 laps took a toll on him and he really didn't want to do mess himself up before Freestone.

On another note.....where was it that Alessi 'let Reed by' and was waving/cheering him on? It looked like Reed didn't know what the hell Alessi was doing. Just trying to remember what race that was.

While I'm at it I just watched one of the old The Great Outdoors where the Alessi family were checking these boards and reading people dogging them out.

Ok 3 post in one I'm done.

Your asking if Alessi pulled over to let Cairoli by. Watch the first moto again...it's actually Cairoli who pulls over and waves Mike by. Then with no gear shifter, Cairoli goes and passes him.....again.....then wins the moto.

You seem amazed that someone who isn't American beat Alessi at GH.
So why did Cairoli have to "wave Mike Bye"? Why didn't Mike just pass him and be done with it? Was he not following close enough to pass him?

Mike did finish behind Cairoli in both moto's and still got second place overall. It could be a win-win for Mike and KTM.

I don't doubt that real fast guys can run Mike down. That is what happened. Mike cannot race in front of himself. He always races who is behind him. Guess it's a curse of always getting the start. If Mikey gets the start and his closest rivals are back there in 8th or 9th Mikey will win. If they are in 2nd and 3rd they will catch him, IMO. I am a huge Mikey fan, I just wish he could race forward not backward.

DV does it not make sense for marketing reasons for KTM's World champion to win here in the US of A.. but, then again, is this not standard Euro procedure for the World Champion/team leader to take the win, Don't get me wrong, i'm not taking anything awat from Caroli i saw him hand RV his hat in England a couple of years ago, the man is Fast, not dought about it, but, come on, this is what has been the protocol since the beginning Euro racing for the team leader to win.. period... let me ask you this Davide, you were there, and you have raced Mike, When Caroli went by him was Mike on his race line, or a give away line.. he moved over...

Vegas 2 years ago. Mikey was flying that race. Only place he was losing any time was whoops but everywhere else he was either pulling or staying right there with stewey. Reed was sitting behind him and mikey was like wth go get stewey. He waved him by on the triple.

Alessi got beat straight up in both motos - deal with it, his nationality doesn't make him better than Cairoli, Desalle or BT, Nagl was as fast as him too.. all those riders are fast nationality doesn't make you superior in motocross. Alessi is fast but those other guys are just as good - being American doesn't make him better than those guys.

I think it comes down to respect for your teammate and the Championship he is chasing. I think Cairoli wold do the same for Mike if the shoe was on the other foot.

This is not an us vs. them argument. Both riders are fast and both are the best in their series.

There is no conspiracy but I do believe there is a lot of politics involved in the outcome of the race. The finishing order and the fact that it was Alessi's "home track" are indicators of this.

The best in the US right now.

1st moto at Hangtown. Started 3rd finished 4th.

HE GOT BEAT. SIMPLE AS THAT.

I just hope some other guys step it up so that Mike doesnt end up on the MX of Nations team. Cant really begin to think what horseshit he would say in the press conference.

Cairoli waved Mike by because his gear shifter had fallen off.

" Why didn't mike just pass him and be done with it ? "....He tried. Right after Mike passed Cairoli he was going really fast and actually had a comfortable gap on Cairoli.

" let me ask you this Davide, you were there, and you have raced Mike, When Caroli went by him was Mike on his race line, or a give away line.. he moved over "....I'll answer this for David because i'm currently watching the races.

Moto1: The pass Cairoli made on Alessi after his shifter fell off was in the corner after the finish line. He went around the outside of Mike which was a line that Cairoli was taking all day. Mike was always going inside by the way ( he actually passed Cairoli going inside on that corner aswell ).

Moto2 : Cairoli squeezed Mike out on the start and Mike actually passed him a few laps in. Desalle passed Cairoli and then went by Mike. Cairoli passed Mike heading up one of the hills ( Mike bobbled on the exit but tried cutting Cairoli off as they heading up the hill ). Mike was trying like crazy to get by Cairoli. Mike passes Cairoli coming down a hill. Mike started charging after Desalle because that would of given Mike the overall. Mike passes Desalle going up a hill ( He's currently winner of the overall ). Desalle gets back by Mike and starts gapping him. Cairoli passes Mike on the inside in the corner with the bridge going over it. Cairoli and Desalle pull a huge gap on Mike and that's how it finishes.

Mike battled tooth and nail to try and keep Desalle and Cairoli behind him like the true racer he is. He was defending lines also so give it a rest. The way you were talking was making me believe you have actually seen the race....clearly you haven't.

And yes i am a sad bastard for writing this post. I'm starting to fit in with the crowd on here i guess.

Was it to find a good spot to let Caroili by? Seriously, why would he give a fuck if the plan was to NOT win?
Bringing up tony checking lines out..How many times have you seen Mike Alessi hug a competitor after a race?

There were a lot of opinions this week about the contact between Mike Alessi and Ben Townley in the opening moto of the MX1 class. I don’t need to explain whose side I’m on regarding the incident, but the one thing that disappoints me is that Mike Alessi didn’t have the class to come over and apologize to Ben for it and explain his version of what happened, even if it was completely insincere. That was basically an admission of guilt to me. Personally, I want to thank Mike. His move in the opening laps of that moto stirred something in Ben that he hasn’t felt in a couple years, and that same drive is going to carry him through the rest of this summer.

So Alessi has now fired up two competitors he wishes he never did, Reed and BT101....

Alessi was most likely riding his regular bike, wich has to be, following AMA production rule, a 350.

Nobody really knows what is Cairoli racing. Wouldn't surprise me that it's a 390 or something.
again with this?????

Do you guys need to actually see in person the actual tech inspection with the micrometers and shit to finally accept it's a 350?.....

Even that wouldn't be enough.....then someone would suggest David Blain magically switched the internal parts from a secret remote location with his mind while the bike was being wheeled to tech in a clear bulletproof safe....(facepalm)
