Plus it's early in the year, let's see what happens in Texas. Might shed some more light on the situation with 800 speed in terms of how he is stacking up.

On another note.....where was it that Alessi 'let Reed by' and was waving/cheering him on? It looked like Reed didn't know what the hell Alessi was doing. Just trying to remember what race that was.
While I'm at it I just watched one of the old The Great Outdoors where the Alessi family were checking these boards and reading people dogging them out.
Ok 3 post in one I'm done.
Mike did finish behind Cairoli in both moto's and still got second place overall. It could be a win-win for Mike and KTM.
This is not an us vs. them argument. Both riders are fast and both are the best in their series.
There is no conspiracy but I do believe there is a lot of politics involved in the outcome of the race. The finishing order and the fact that it was Alessi's "home track" are indicators of this.
1st moto at Hangtown. Started 3rd finished 4th.
HE GOT BEAT. SIMPLE AS THAT.
I just hope some other guys step it up so that Mike doesnt end up on the MX of Nations team. Cant really begin to think what horseshit he would say in the press conference.
Pit Row
" Why didn't mike just pass him and be done with it ? "....He tried. Right after Mike passed Cairoli he was going really fast and actually had a comfortable gap on Cairoli.
Moto1: The pass Cairoli made on Alessi after his shifter fell off was in the corner after the finish line. He went around the outside of Mike which was a line that Cairoli was taking all day. Mike was always going inside by the way ( he actually passed Cairoli going inside on that corner aswell ).
Moto2 : Cairoli squeezed Mike out on the start and Mike actually passed him a few laps in. Desalle passed Cairoli and then went by Mike. Cairoli passed Mike heading up one of the hills ( Mike bobbled on the exit but tried cutting Cairoli off as they heading up the hill ). Mike was trying like crazy to get by Cairoli. Mike passes Cairoli coming down a hill. Mike started charging after Desalle because that would of given Mike the overall. Mike passes Desalle going up a hill ( He's currently winner of the overall ). Desalle gets back by Mike and starts gapping him. Cairoli passes Mike on the inside in the corner with the bridge going over it. Cairoli and Desalle pull a huge gap on Mike and that's how it finishes.
Mike battled tooth and nail to try and keep Desalle and Cairoli behind him like the true racer he is. He was defending lines also so give it a rest. The way you were talking was making me believe you have actually seen the race....clearly you haven't.
And yes i am a sad bastard for writing this post. I'm starting to fit in with the crowd on here i guess.
Ping:
There were a lot of opinions this week about the contact between Mike Alessi and Ben Townley in the opening moto of the MX1 class. I don’t need to explain whose side I’m on regarding the incident, but the one thing that disappoints me is that Mike Alessi didn’t have the class to come over and apologize to Ben for it and explain his version of what happened, even if it was completely insincere. That was basically an admission of guilt to me. Personally, I want to thank Mike. His move in the opening laps of that moto stirred something in Ben that he hasn’t felt in a couple years, and that same drive is going to carry him through the rest of this summer.
Do you guys need to actually see in person the actual tech inspection with the micrometers and shit to finally accept it's a 350?.....
Even that wouldn't be enough.....then someone would suggest David Blain magically switched the internal parts from a secret remote location with his mind while the bike was being wheeled to tech in a clear bulletproof safe....(facepalm)
Post a reply to: Mikey.. Did he or Didn't, that is the question
