There is more important stuff but I'm definitely hyped for Kenny + Eli vs the final boss Friese!

I was a hater when this first came around since their strategy was to poach guys from racing US Series', now that it's in the off season like I should be I don't see a reason to hope it fails.

All you naysayers, why are you still hoping it fails?

Adding Eli was a HUGE step up in legitimacy.

Maybe I'm off base, but to me it's the over promise and under deliver nonsense from the start.

Eli is showing up? Because they threw someone else's money at him, from the sound of it.

It does NOT seem like anything other than a money grab, crappy tracks and "headline" names to get ticket sales.

At the end of the day it's dirt bike racing so there is obviously some interest, but at this point I don't think anyone would be shocked if they announced tomorrow the funding fell through and to "look for better things in 2025!!!"

How many "Rounds" are they planning this time around? (literally google-ing it) 4 Rounds. 2 & 3 at the same venue double header. I still think they'll run out of money again this year, and that will finally be the end of wasting investors money.

I've got $5 that says they're still using cardboard boxes for tuff blocks... what a joke. zero rider safety.

As opposed to Feld making guys race wide open 5ft. away from concrete barriers?

They were for advertising, not supposed to be tuff blocks.

Didn't Hampshire have to jump over soft tuff blocks to get there?

You win, tough blocks make it so much safer....I mean we NEVER see any crashes caused by them do we?

It’s only truly in the ‘off season’ because they can’t get enough support/momentum to have any events that compete with the Nationals. I have no doubt that even with the change of ownership the ultimate goal is still to be able to grow events and move back into the summer months.

Funny, I'm hearing a lot of complaints that I hear about SMX, money grab, tracks suck, big names just to sell tickets, hollow championship, how can 3(4) races be a World Championship....

It's surprising that the industry and media did not make a bigger deal out of that. Such a major safety hazard that could have unthinkable concequences.

I mean, I'd rather hit a collapsible cardboard box than a solid hunk of foam that will take me down.

What's the ratio of guys landing on tuff blocks saving them from other crashes, vs riders eating shit after clipping a tuff block?

Of course he’s going - he’s a professional racer getting paid to do it.

Do you think Eli or anyone else would be at SMX if not for the big checks?

Do guns kill people? Or do bad people use guns to kill people? Do tuff blocks jump out at riders and cause crashes? Or do the riders run into them, causing their own crash?

I'm sure Australia and Abu Dhabi will be fine, not so sure about Vancouver. The Canucks need to start buying tickets . . .

There is in way in hell they will get any kind of turnout in Vancouver that resembles any kind of crowd.

So you've never seen a rider hit a tough block that was in the middle of the track?

I mean is this really where we're at?  All you have left in your arsenal to shit talk WSX is tough blocks?

You win, have a good day bud, I can't afford to lose any more brain cells by trying to stoop to your level.

You're really grasping at straws here Bud...So the tuff block just walked out into the middle of the track? The rider ran into it..its not the tuff block's fault. The fault lands on the guy who hit it into the track, the flagger who didn't notice the block on the track, the track worker who didn't get it out of the way, and finally the rider who hit it. Just take the L and regroup.

I tell ya what dawg....go back and count the up votes and downvotes on our respective posts and then you tell me who you think the majority sees as "grasping at straws"

If you wanted the safest option it would be tough block without the sponsor covers on them….that get caught in chains and wheels…..but Feld ain’t giving up those dollars…..for riders’ safety??  ppffttttttt

The question should be...Now that WSX is dead, what is the over/under on how long will SMX last?

I'll take the under on 5 more years.

Somebody was just talking about this on one of the Matthes' podcasts.

It's pretty much guaranteed to last until the current TV Contract is up.

3 years left on the current broadcast rights deal, I believe. We'll see if the ratings justify a renewal/extension.

By the way NBC has no idea WSX exists. lol
