Sean is controversial ,no doubt. But I think being a racist is a stretch. He is not caught up in the hype of the LBGQ or of the DEI hiring, so I guess that makes him racist and a homophobe ? I will admit he is an acquired taste as far as his personality traits, but I do like how he speaks what’s on his mind. I have followed the UFC, since its beginning, so I can appreciate his fighting techniques. He’s definitely not for everyone, but he also has a big fan base.

Strickland is nothing but a clown. He went crying into one of his opponents private messages because the guy said something that hurt his feelings meanwhile Sean says whatever he can to offend people anytime a microphone gets put in his face. He was also legitimately crying on some podcast after shit talking another fighter for the same thing. Good fighter but most of his fights are fucking snoozers anyway.

I don't know how much of Sean's public persona is really him and how much is a character for marketing. To make big money in the UFC, fighters need a persona. Colby Covington was going to get cut for being boring - even though he won every fight - so he became the over-the top character we see today. Anyone who actually meets Covington when he's out of character seems to think he's actually a very nice guy. I suspect Sean is much the same. I'm not saying I like these personas, but controversy generates revenue.
This is nothing new. Ali, by all accounts, was quiet, polite, and respectful away from the cameras.
