I said the same thing. He will get a good start and I think Phil dies out there given the chance. If we are grasping at riders send that guy.
It seems like Eli was the acknowledged alternate... It seems logical that if the bikes can get there, he's likely to go.
If they can pull it together, Eli, AP and Webb is still a worthy team USA.
What bike did Herlings ride at Ironman? Desalle at Unadilla?
Or when Team France rocked up with an Enduro rider and won when Matterley Basin last hosted the MXdN.

Star going to England makes me think of Steel roots when Jeremy is in Sherwood forest(one track mind). A bad ass movie. That RL with the luggage?(<suspension)
You put some respect on Christopher Charlier. The EMX2 champ who has beaten Jeffrey Herlings back in the day... Well JH84 was like 14 yo back then but win is a win.
Naw. If we’re thinking like that, send Malcolm. He finished the Nationals higher than Nicoletti, and his Austrian team would support it.
And get him to race a 125!
Phil's been top 10 a lot! I see no reason he wouldn't do at least top 10 at the Nations.
What a way to finish up his career!
We also could move Webb back to 450s, then send Pierce Brown.
The beauty of having a production based platform, should mean you can build a team bike in just about any country in the world.
Take your suspension and any other bits deemed essential and it shouldn’t be a problem. I mean the majority of riders have done it that way for one off international races for decades.
Isn’t it a better alternative than giving up?
They may start as a production based platform, but they are highly modified, they would have to ship the frame, engine and suspension, might as well ship the whole bike.
He sounded frustrated.
You are not allowing for rage inflation. We all have 25% more rage now..
Herlings didn't care
Let me chk my schedule...I may be able to go.
Super disappointed to hear DeCoster’s pov on the American team situation.
Literally you guys are spoilt for choice in every class to send competitive teams made up of any number of guys.
Sure it’s not Eli, Chase and Deegan for a probably guaranteed win but isn’t the point the event itself matters?
Fucks sake, most of the rest of us are hoping for a couple good results and a miracle.
I’ve not thought so before but time to go IMO. Let someone else lead the charge.
Highly modified you say?! Well I didn’t realise!……okay enough of being a smartarse.
They don’t need a frame or complete engine to race. It might not be ideal, but take the essentials- suspension, ecu, whatever, build the best bike you can and line up for fucksake.
ML said, "I guess you've already been pretty far down the list just to get to Webb". Roger said, "Yes, if Eli can't go we should give up".
I took that to mean Webb was probably the only one logistically/financially able to go. If Eli now can't or won't go...there's no one else.
You'd think that the "riders" would be the easiest part of fielding a team. I mean, if you win or are near the top of your class you're gonna get a call. It's pretty obvious there's a lot more going on behind the scenes than we hear about. Roger ain't a DNS kinda guy.
Pit Row
If Eli races on a production frame and stock engine, he won't be comfortable on the bike, and will cruise to a mid pack finish.
So be it…..
Wait a minute, wasn’t he on a production frame for the last three weekends?
Interesting during the Racerx review pod they said Sexton never went to the Asterisk medical truck on Saturday. Guess Chase will just wait till today to go to a Dr that has better imaging equipment.
It is a wild & unlikely move, but move Webb to MX3 (since Plessinger is hurt), Deegan to MX2, & Tomac to MX1. if Star is already sending a US guy, may as well send all of them since Bobby said he'd send riders with a real chance of winning. may as well max out our odds. If AP7 is healthy enough to be competitive, keep him as he's performing better than Webb.
One person in here gives an answer yet everyone ignores it. Vital at it's finest.
AP is staying on the team and Deegan isn’t going. God people are dense.
Coker told Matthes the chances of Eli going and he said they quote ‘weren’t high’
Maybe Roger should give Johnny Girroir a call.
The production frame has a single tab on the inside where the the subframe is mounted...
On Eli's bike there is a tab on each side...
The large weld in the same area stops, unlike the production weld...
It may have started as production frame components or a production frame, but the modifications Star Racing has made are unknown, I doubt the AMA measures frame geometry.
He didn't site a source or tell how he knows this. Lots of people in threads like this will troll that they know something just to amuse themselves. Not saying neysbo is trolling, but you will have to cast a pretty tasty bait to get me to engage a post like that.
Yeah the Homologation/production rule has been a joke for a long time .
Are you serious right now did you not see Malcolm just riding around in the back? Never would I pick Malcolm over Phil.
Matthes said on his review that KTM told him they expect the x rays to say its broken, so a lot of people probably just ignored that.
Post a reply to: DeCoster on Sexton, Tomac, and our choices for Team USA now...
