Seeing this guy jump 14 cars inside at the Atlanta fairgrounds in 73 sticks out the most for me.

How about the massive stepup at Glen Helen a few years ago!

Actually Millsaps tried it once and cased it hard. Never saw him try it again. The video doesn't do that jump justus. There was practically NO run for it.

I wish we could see it.

Im not sure i thought it was by the grandstands i was looking for it for a couple min and couldnt find it ill look later though. It might have been 03. I thought it was the same year ping broke his bike in half. I remeber that same race thought because everone was talking about how bubba is coming out putting it to the vets and everone was sick of it.

You guys are thinking about Phoenix SX in 2002. You came through one of the whoop sections and made a 90 degree left hand turn with a very short run in to a tripple that had a STEEP face and the quad right after it. Then there was another sharp turn in to another tripple.

RC, MC, Windham, Larocco, DV12 etc..were busting out the Quad in the 250 class, and JS7 and Travis Preston were the only ones doing it in the 125 class. The tripple right before the Quad is where Ping snapped his KTM in half.

v1rus99, you are thinking of Vegas 2003. That was the same night JS7 broke his collarbone coming through the Finishline section. Yes, Bubba was the ONLY one busting out that quad that night in either class. Everyone else was trippling on to the tabletop and stepping off.
You're right Racer111. I was there for both of those and remember thinking HOLY CRAP! Especially when Ping came up short on the triple. That triple was RIGHT after the corner and had a super steep ramp. Every 125 was having to rail the berm wide open to make it. I believe his bike seized up on the face and he came up about 3-4 feet short, front wheel first.

But the quad after it was as impressive as anything I've ever seen. It was one of those where, if you picture it in your head you go, na, no way. Even after watching them jump it I still couldn't really believe it because the jumps were all the same size and the first one wasn't that big. Though, I bet now a days it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

There was another quad like that at A1 one year, can't remember the year but it was after the triple and only a handful of guys were jumping it.

Most memorable jump for me was watching Ernesto Fonseca hit the huge triple when nailed a holeshot at Lakewood. He railed the corner and hit it wide open on the 450. RC K-dub and others wouldn't even attempt it in the motos. If someone can find a video that would be sweet!

The elevator cripled me for life. Shattered my feet and broke my jaw. I never did it again even after racing there for many more years and I still jump everything and anything. 11 screws and 2 plates that i feel everyday. lol awesome jump.

Are you talking about the A3 race in 2004 where KW came from behind and beet Chad Reed? I also think A2 in 2004 had a quad similar to the 2002 Poeniz one that was immediately followed by a TIGHT right hander that Tim Ferry was the only guy doing it on. 4 stroke.

Wow, the very first jump that came to mind was the elevator as well. It was tamed down by the time I was racing big bikes so hitting it on a YZ250 wasnt too big of a deal. Same with Budds Creek Big Gulp. So whats CURRENTLY the gnarliest huck out there? Lorocco's Leap?

Millville '04, I think. It was sick. You could tell the track builders didn't even fathom it.
i was there, in fact, the RacerX article on the race, they have an arial photo of the pits and track, you can see my yellow box van in the pits!

Its not that it was a huge hit, it was only maybe 40 or 50 feet max. What made it so insane was the line AND the fact that there were about 20 people standing there and he went over their heads. He wasnt the only one though, CR did it 1 time.

You went past the finish line, made a 180 left hand turn and went thru the first turn area (start straight was on your right, perpendicular), and there was a stepup into a sandy corner with a 90 degree right turn after. On the jump face, RCs line was at LEAST a 45 degree angle off vertical! He went about 15 feet high, right over about 20 peoples heads.... team managers, a few officials, some mechanics, some press, cornerworkers.. they all ducked and scattered. JS and CR were right behind him when he did it. (it was about the 5th ot 6th lap if the first practice for them)

Next lap rolls around, he busts it again, he was hitting the bottum middle of the steup and leaving its face on the extreme right hand side, was awesome. everyone is running down there to see it better. next lap rolls around, RC busts it again, and CR did it. Then practice was over. Between, they brought in some poles and put them in.

But the INSANE leap on that day though... the Holy Schmidt. We rode the track on AM day. You LITERALLY, came down a very steep hill, made a 90 degree right turn and literally had a 15 foot run from the outside berm to the jump face and another 10 feet of face, so 25 of wheels in contact with mother earth, then a 110 foot launch! Only people that did it the whole day, RC, CR, Allessi, Windham, and Joaquim Rodrigues! (whatever happened to that guy? didnt he get brutally ran over in vegas SX?) JS tried it on his 125, in fact there was an insane photo that showed him from the back jumping it. What made the photo so awesome, the bike is straight up and down, and the only grip on the bike JS has is with hit hands on the bars, and he FEET are pinching in and griping the SEAT! He only tried it twice, came up a hair short both times. (he tried the new uphill triple 1 time, about got ruined doing it)

Best memory from that day though, JS hitting the whoops, on the 2nd lap of practice and he was going faster than CR and RC... in fact he was hitting them so fast he literally was carrying his front wheel, just wheel tapping them in the lane coming back towards the track. It was omg amazing.

You're right, it doesn't do it justice at all. That's pretty much right out of a 90-degree uphill turn, with the landing completely blind. It's still impressive today, but even more so when RC busted it out for the first time back when he was on his CR250.

that was A1 in 99. I sat right there. Casey Lytle was the only guy on a 125 to do it, and did it every lap!

That first link for high point, I remember seeing that on TV but the camera angle was from the back. It looks much more impressive from the front though.

I used to go to Kenwothy's and they had the Widowmaker, it was a cool jump. We had a guy that rode for us and in the first practice it was muddy, he hit and got cossed up nearly ended up in the creek.

Not a national track, but here are some guys hitting a 150' quad at Trey Canard's place. Big balls!

Foxhills in the early 90's... it was a breathtaking sight to watch the riders sail off the top before landing half way down an almost vertical slope. The GP riders like Mike 'Gunner' Healey and Marniq Bervoets would just hit the thing almost flat out.

Did a bunch of British Championship Nationals there back in the day and as you approached that drop off all you could see was the land on the other side of the valley , was like the track dropped off the edge of the world.

You had to jump further as the day went to miss a series of big holes that would develop where everyone was landing .

Scary as shite !!

High Point back in the 90's, when Bradshaw Boulevard was still there. Brian Swink and a few others would jump from the uphill leading up to the section into the middle of the first double. It was so gnarly that the track crew went and put a double lip on the takeoff to prevent riders from jumping it. most amazing thing I have ever seen.

What about the Magoo double? I've heard rumors and seen one photo of it.

For me it would be Pastrana busting out the insane jump series in Atlatna (2002?) that ended up putting KW out for two years. That was one of those moments where you look at yourself and say, what the heck was he thinking.

There was a fast left sweeper that tied into the first turn which left a little berm there. Pastrana was using the little berm as a jump and landing on the first ledge of a step up table. Then he'd launch into two more crazy leaps, landing right in the corner after. KW caught on and was doing it until he clipped the top of the last landing and endoed into the corner breaking his femur. I don't think anyone else tried it after that.
