Chad DID NOT SAY THAT ....Chad said "Let's get the real winners bike up here."

FlaNard - Go back and re-read the monday conversation once again and you will see that you are wrong only posting something to satrt a fire that was misquoted to fuel the fire.....get your facts straight next time.

Yeah, you know he comes up there all cocky and shit and thinking he won. I don’t know, I think obviously a moto win is awesome, but the goal is to win the overall, and he fell short of that, and I don’t think he was aware of it. So I just said, get that thing off, let’s get the real winner’s bike up here. It’s all-good. I think the whole 350/450 thing is going to be the new two-stroke/four-stroke thing. I think a lot of people are going to love the 350 and a lot of people, not to say hate on it, but for me, I mean, it’s a 450 class. That’s why it’s the premier class. Ride a real bike, you know? I mean, it’s a great bike and it’s a great idea, but it’s a different idea. A hundred cc’s is nothing. Look at Moto GP: They took away 200cc and immediately they were breaking lap records throughout the whole year.

You Mikey haters are funny.. Mikey is one of the best in the world so deal with it.
I personally think it's great to see a kid get so excited about winning. For 10 years we had like 3 different winners and the sport was pretty boring at times. We were occasionally treated to a hand raise after the checkered. In other motor sports guys go crazy after wins and it really shows the fans how much it means to them and their team . In car racing they do victory laps, burn outs, donuts and even climb the fences and I love it. It takes so much dedication in mx to even win one moto and I don't blame anyone that over celebrates. Like i said in a different thread I'd probably still be doing victory laps at hangtown today if i won on Saturday, Hey at least he wasn't doing the sprinkler or the worm in the middle of the track like JS. Although I never thought bad about JS for doing that stuff I did at times think it was silly. But heck if James had 1/2 the love for the sport he did back in those days you may not have to deal with Mikey doing victory laps because James would still be winning,

Bottom line is all the haters need to stfu and give the kid his due props for putting in the work and getting the job done in moto 2.

Really? You need to start a thread about this?! Come on man, he's obviously pumped to get a moto win on the new innovating 350 in America. I would be stoked too. I am happy for Alessi......

You're obviously not seeing things from Mike's perspective. It's called the fatal attribution error. Look at the situation he was in. He was coming into a race on a bike that was not proven. It's 100cc's less than all the other bikes that lined up on the gate with him. For him to holeshot, and win the race was a huge victory, not only for the sake of winning a moto, but a victory in KNOWING, not believing the bike was capable of winning.
AC winning 5 out of 10 motos and currently leadning in points in the GPs isn't proof that the 350 is a solid enough bike to win on?

Haha, it's a US based forum, so the short answer to your question is a big is no, but doesn't mean the bike isn't amazing. Alessi is fast, but that doesn't mean he knows how to be a graceful moto winner. Not much surprise there. Let's just hope his head doesn't explode next month so we can have more than a single contender. Reed needs at least some comp.

Mike's been reading the 48 Laws of Power?

I think it's pretty funny, and ballsy, whether he did it on purpose or if it was just an honest fuck up.

I grew up where Mike is from, the good ol high desert. We should all be glad he's not smokin or cookin meth in a trailer.
Beyond that he is in the top 5 fastest MXers right now.
CR
MA
TC
RV... yeah I know he's not racing right now.
JS.... Yep... I know he's not racing either but those are the facts son.

The guy won a moto he deserves to at least touch the top step of the podium. If I was KTM I would be stoked he did a victory lap.

I don't really see how it would change the fact that the 350 has already been proven an able winner, just because a lot of people here might not give much of a damn about the GPs... I guess I'm a bit weird.

Disagree. While he can get excited as he wants (victory lap was overkill as well) about winning a moto, the only bike that goes on the podium is the winners. There has never been any gray area. I bet Everts , while happy with the moto win, was cringing at the sight. Coupled with his press conference he has managed to give more of the field serious bulletin board material.
Agree with ya science.. .and what's with a moto victory lap and fist pumping? Strange behavior.

Good ride, no doubt about it.

Yep, look at Cairolli when he won the 2nd round of GPs. You didn't see him behaving so conceitedly. And he had actually won the overall.

My bad, haven't been paying much attention to the GP's except for round one.

Anyways, please now turn your attention to DanDunes818's comment.

Mike owned that podium. Dude should of set up a KTM pop up.

That 3 fiddy is a bad machine. On top of that Mike rattled Reed.

Not a MA hater or a big fan,But I hear people say all the time MA was the fastest rider last year and if he would not have hurt himself he would have won the c-ship,But mike was not the fastest rider RV was. RV worked every one in at the the first race but got hurt so from where I stand MA was not the fastest. But I think the reason winning a c-ship is so hard, is to have 12 good rounds not a few bursts of speed, I love MX because its so hard to fight the tracks the riders and bikes, and if you come out with making all 12 rounds your a tough dude, a warrior but if you do it the fastest your a champion and real fighter. MA is one of the best mx riders out there but yet to show he's a champ. I think he can but has not found all the pieces of the puzzle. Kids fast and tough just need to be fast tough and smart all at the same time to hold up that plate. But I'm glad he's there, he makes the racing a lot better.

Its a shame they don't sell jerseys like they do in the NFL and NBA.

Dennis Rodman used to act like a crank all the time. He had the #2 selling jersey for several years. He cried all the way to the bank when he cashed that royality check.

Mike won 2nd overall, thats better than 38 damn good riders that gated up next to him. Mike won a moto straight up fair and square, and thats better than 39 damn good riders that gated up next to him. When it comes to seeing who got to cash the bonus check at the end of the day, it all adds up. The start, riding with fewer mistakes, the bike, the conditioning, the ability to stay at the front. It's all part of the race. I bet there are a dozen other riders that would have celebrated in some way, more or less than Mike did, if they won.

So I guess all of you do everything just right when you have similar accomplishments as winning a national MX race?

It's very hard to believe that his mechanic didn't signal his overall result. Seems kind of funny that every other rider knows what their overall position is at the end of a race and where to put their bike.

But then again he does have a picture of his bike on the podium like he won the overall, so his job was done during picture time at the end! Wink
