Alright cool your still racing a 125 at LL. I asked about you on here if you where at LL with your 04 yz125 this yr.  Did you hv enough hp for the track ?  I think it would b enough.  I kept my 04 a stock bore too. I want a quick responsive engine a heavier piston & stroker crank slows that down.  Plus I want the transmission to hold up longer.  I think 38 hp & 19 ft lbs is more than enough.

I was giving up quite a bit on the start, but it was great for the rest of the track....  My 125 is an '03 and I love it! I rode Clayton's 05 incase i needed some parts (newer generation).... Parts just aren't available at LL for that old of a bike!

JM racing engine ? John,s engines hv that perfect quick and Really strong and long mid to the ovr rev. Probably great for LL track , in vids it looks tight.  Our Wi. Fast 50+ rider Marc raced a Husky 125 of 150 Last yr at LL this yr a 250 or 300 . Nobody knows and I haven’t heard it.  We hv a 125 12+ class in Wi. , iL, Mn. Is the same. So it’s mainly 125 jr hyper fast kids.  Wi. Has a 2-st class open to any size bike.  Aztalan next sat has a racer x vet race . They hv 125 35+ .  I planned on going but my body is 100% beaten.  I didn’t ride at all this yr too many injuries, injections, etc.  I planned on just doing practice Fri then race sat.  Pa. Has some big 125 races at there pro ams in the fall.  The 125 jr Johnathon at LL on a 05 cr125 has 3 of them .  Just like the old days well most had 2 . I hv 2 04,s .

I am exclusively riding a 125 now after 4 years off the bike. I had fully intended to buy a new bike this year "yz250" or "150sx". Honestly, I think im just going to buy another 125. It's a pretty good workout for me at 31 now and not being nearly the shape I've once been in.

Yes, JM Racing is amazing! My '03 is John's flat top motor and it is THE SHIT!! Clayton's '05 that I raced at this year and at last year's LL is also a JM motor!

Ya, Ottenad told me he was on a 150 last year...We sat together in impound after our first moto... I didn't even ask about this year, 250 or 300.

The 125 races are like everyone on tis thread says. "just a lot of fun!!" For me, the 125s are safer, as I don't get myself into as much trouble as I do on the bigger bikes! In fact, I just picked up a used '24 this past weekend that I'm gonna start racing.  My '03 is just getting worn out and is breaking down on me too much and some parts are hard to find. Time to retire her.... 😔😢 So, I'll have 2, they'll just be 21 years apart in age....🙂🙃🙂 I'll be documenting my build here on Vital, if you guys are interested in it.

I feel ya, brother! I was thinking about a 150, but I stayed with the YZ and just picked up a '24 YZ125 this past week. I will be documenting the build here on Vital....

Yeah John is a genius wizard when it comes to 85,125,s.  He built Chad Johnson,s kx125 I raced him at Byron,iL. In 125 b in 98. I had Jeff Wilohs 97 yz125 natl bike that holeshot a national.  Coming out of a corner where i,m wo , he pulled me easily. His kx sounded like a natl LL real quick & unique pulling threw the mid. He is the man for building a strong cr125 , worked with srs to get Jeff Dements cr running strong for the gp,s.  Built Josh grants cr125 & of course the 04 cr125 Tara Gieger LL championship rocket ship.  And the engines are Super fun to ride and nothing sounds better. I let some riders including a local pro ride my 1st JM 04.  The a rider raced a 03 cr125 in 125 jr. He couldn’t believe how strong it pulled on the hills.

How is that JM suspension? And the Hoosier tires ?  My post earlier was from a motel room next to the trk stop , I never got a room out on the rd just to ice but the ts didn’t hv laundry so I did that too. I was icing my hands, arms, legs, back, neck.  Trying to stay out out & make some money but it’s real bad out here.  In 2021 my plan was to race AX but the 1099,s trks r brutal. 3 inches shorter in the 1st yr, a ton of injuries.  I think a 125 would b the best bike for AX once you get it setup. Quickest responding engine , get frontend to stick, super stiff forks, valve it for whoops then tweek it to corner. I Love whoops AX is the only tracks that hv them now.  And I like people watching me ride sounds weird but I ride way better then.  Remember Bradshaw had a long time off a bike & came back racing AX on a yz125. He chose it ovr tge 250f and won a lot . He didn’t want to ride the 250f but did switch because the 125 ran out of steam in the whoops.  Then he mangles his foot or leg.  I figured Springfield Mo. would b a good spot to get a job during the week for the GT AX . But the jobs r few & pay nothing.  So I don’t know bored as hell here in Az.  This co doesn’t go west but they found a ld in Pa. That paid good.  It’s a 2k lb computer that controls the self driving mining huge trk. IMG 0918IMG 0892 2.jpeg?VersionId=sJ4tsrs1NwFdtfdPn6M9.BwOq

I really love the JM suspension and the Hoosiers!! I've ridden several different company's suspension and JM Racing outshines them all by a long ways! It holds up well in the corners, handles the rough stuff and the jumps.... Pretty much a do-it-all.... Haha! Just what everybody is after!! 😍🤩 Seriously, I've ridden many of the biggies and they don't work as well!

The Hoosiers are awesome! I rode them back to back getting ready for LL24 this summer with the MX34s and I felt a big difference! Mainly in the corners.  I could charge the corners harder and lean in harder and the Hoosiers MX25s grabbed way better! Track better in the sand and follow the ruts better! At one time, I was on the 34s and forgot and leaned in to a flat corner like I had been doing all week, and lost the front end. I saved it and thought "what the hell," then realized I was on the 34s and not the 25s. I was sold 100%! The Hoosiers are the real deal. Made in the USA!!!

IMG 20240412 154530643IMG 20230907 102100 01IMG 20230712 113823 01Soon to have an 04 KX125 put together. Will run it with the STIC Super X PWK 38/40mm on stock engine. The low RPM fuel uptake is madness. Challenging to control the off idle response, it's just so abrupt in character. Different to ride than a pro race build small bore, bc there's a much broader RPM range to shift in, but still, if I hit the trails it will lug right up a tree without clutching. Been having a blast on my upgraded 200SX w/Super X. It parked my YZ250F and I only load up my 300SX as a back up, even tho it's a near perfect bike for me.

So I have a new Husky TC 250 coming here in a couple weeks. And I'm thinking real seriously about pairing it up with a TC 125 sometime this spring / summer.

Just trying to think...it's mainly for fun , but if I want to race it , is there a class I could run it in? Wondering if the 125 has gotten popular enough out here in the NW , that we have an actual 125 class? I wouldn't mind having to run against the kids either.

So for a vet guy who owns a 125...just thinking where I might fit in on race days. Got this 2 stroke bug and I don't think it'll be going away any time soon.

I feel like a lot of it depends on what type of rider you are. If you are a fast guy you’ll be pretty fast on a 125. Your speed is your speed. If you are a slow guy you can race a 450 and still finish last. Obviously a 125 is grossly underpowered in comparison but unless you are an expert rider there’s only so fast you can really go and I vouch for riding what you’ll have the most fun on.

I had no problem on a hilly clay track 2 straights  with obstacles behind. Run I think I ran  all the 30+ riders on new 250, 450,s. Skipped practice didn’t look at the track either. Bod totally f d up doing 3 injections a week. On 2+ yr old bulk fuel. 2nd motos I couldn’t breath I didn’t know the wild fire smoke rolled in. AI just called brokers using an idiots version , eL paso 900 mi of back roads, oh yeah.IMG 4390IMG 4124 3.jpeg?VersionId=mpnxXMqltQC8AfJREBXWXCzFYmIosUT
