The 93 is getting a new top end right now... love riding this so much that I will buy a 2022 KTM 125 when they are available.... had been looking for a clean older YZ125 but the prices of roached YZ”s is comical...

$3500 and all the goodies you see, including the wheels, were BRAND SPANKING NEW
...in November 2020
...remember trying to find a good deal on a bike at that time? Grinning

Allllll the while, their were a few folks 'round h'yar telling me I paid too much! I'm still laughing about that.

You know how LONG it took me to get used to...using that tiny little kick-starter? Silly

Next-Up: I'm gonna go ride it out at our Super Secret Off-Road Special Test Area.

Usually at your age guys think they should be on Factory 450's and nothing less....good on ya for knowing what the best bike out there is. Everyone should own a 125 no matter the age. Beautiful work on that Zook..

I would buy it from you for a lot more than you paid for it in a heartbeat. Not everyone realizes how much time and money it takes nowadays to restore old bikes with like new parts, stripping, powder coating, sending shit in, tap & die, waiting in line for motor or suspension work, common parts being out of stock, multiple ebay attempts at the same parts, etc. etc. I almost have a whole extra bike in spare parts because so much of what I bought was not up to my standards.

I haven't taken a 125 to the super-secret-off-road-test area yet but it would be fun after a nice rain...I'll meet you there next winter and we can try to make it 3/4 of the way up some of those hills on the 125 smokers Smile

Thanks man. Its been a fun one to build. I have only gotten to ride it once so far, I spend most of my time on my YZ250f.

I am always contemplating if I should get a 150sx or 350sx-f next

I'm 99% done with my 93 and I think it will be my new favorite bike to ride....can't wait to finally finish the thing. A lot of guys upgrade the forks but I think I'll run it with stock forks for awhile to see if I can get them dialed in.

My 97 YZ125. Owned it since 1997. Rode it a bit last year at a track day. Think it had a piston pin clip failure that day. I hope to get it tore apart this summer and fixed. It was fun to ride compared to my modded yz250f. Much more work required on 125.

After practicing on my 450 today all I could think about is i probably would have had more fun on a 125. I had both before and ended up always riding the 125.

Dude on #27 has the line for a 125 on that start. If you can get tapped in 6th gear and then hold it WFO in 4th around the top of Talladega, you can pull a good start.

Here is my 04, I picked a couple weeks ago. It,s all stock including chain, front tire, etc Finally above 50 degrees , I rode it a bit and worked on it. Hoosier ax has a 125 all star class. Transplant a 05-07 engine in it, much quicker and stronger engine. Not sure if that would work tho. A 05-07 setup for AX, would be so fun. I can ride whoops pretty good. The jump Rythems would be a challenge tho.

I'm so close with this 125. But I also have a one year old. I guess in a year he can come help me in the garage and I'll get more done. (I don't remember if I had posted this bike in here before.)

I remember taking this at Foxhills 98, just thought you’d enjoy the pic. Awesome build, loved seeing it.

That's so cool. It's pretty hard to find pictures from the race. I love it.

Some dude is racing a kx125, in the Hoosier ax series. He got 2nd and 3rd,s in the 125 all star class. Reminds me of the Tuff KX AX racing team.

Here's my '89 covid build. Finally done with the world wide scavenger hunt:

I'm pretty sure Lucky Nino has the baddest '89's in the world. Props to him for helping me shave some weight off my bike. Thanks to Tom Morgan and Gary Faxon too, they both did amazing work.

I was stoked to see these guys having fun on a couple '89's recently. Everyone should own a 125 no matter what age they are:
