OK , broke out the 125 after about 1.5 years of hibernation. Did the usual checks and all is good. Have been on a 250 2 and a 450 4 for awhile. 64, 6ft., 185 lbs. Had the most fun riding the YZ125 in so long. It all came back and it felt like I was King for a Day. Obviously not that but was ripping like a 14 year old, at least the feeling anyways. I'm going to spend more time on the tiddler and now remember why all here do what they do.

Having ridden an 18 150 and a 19 125, the 150 still revs out good but the mid makes you use it less because it’s nice and fat for a small bore. My moms Is now selling her 18 150 with less than 25 hours because she’s just not someone who knows how to ride that way.
My 125 definitely suffered compared to the 150 in the mid until I messed with the powervalve and a few other bits and now she rips like a Mofo.

That said I just bought a 150 kit for my 125 to put on when I do the next top end. I plan to keep my 125 cylinder as well so I can swap If I want to but I probably won’t.

Personally the best investments I’ve made in my 125 is exhaust (bills) Proper jetting and power valve adjustments, suspension revalve, and Vortex ignition. Of all the jetting powervalve and vortex made the biggest changes, once the powervalve and jetting was dialed I gained a lot more bottom. I was able to switch the ignition to the over rev map and then she pulls forever. We will see how this translates on the 150 kit eventually. I have another 5 hours until rebuild time.

What sort of hour mark are folks getting from the 150 top ends out of interest?

Same as a 125, around 15-20h for a normal rider.

Pistons run two rings and don't loose compression, pistons come out looking good after 30 or 40.

Bringing this bitch back (again) from the dead because i just had the best day of riding in my life on a KTM 125! I had so much fun and turned a faster lap time than i ever have on my TC250 which was a complete shock. Vet A (43) so not a noob on 2 bangers. I had 2 125s before (both Yzs) but using AJs jetting specs, PC pipe and silencer this thing is a rocket (2019 with 18 hours, 2 of which i just put on). All hail fun ass 125s!

I think i will probably race it this season too. I got it as a practice bike but if it continues being this fun I'll use it to wage war over plastic trophies in a field on Sundays.

Yeah the 125,s r so fun to ride. It was 47 windy and drizzling . I fired up my 04 I hv it running great it pulls a lot harder than my 05. The 05 jetting must b way off and the pv is probably dirty. I bought it in Oct the weather is still too cold too tear it down. Anyway I,m working my butt off to get my neck, back and knee good enough to ride 3 vet classes at Millville. 55,50,45b . I just want more time on the track and more starts the bike is so fun.

From a few weeks back Sierra OTHG warm up round prior to the OTHG National at Hangtown. Class is 58+ intermediate, went 1-1 on my YZ125, out of 19 riders.

I had every intention of running my TC250 more this season and keeping the 150SX as a backup bike on race day. Thought that I would not only be more competitive on the 250 but also have more fun as well.

Haven't been able to keep off the 150 ever since. By far the most fun race bike on the planet!

I got this under 10 hr 04 cr125 Sunday probably 2 hrs. I,m racing it with a stock cylinder for now. Since I took my 05 cr125 apart sat and found a hot rods crank and cylinder doesn’t look too good. My engine guy had surgery also.

Yeah it’s crazy everything on it is 100% oem. Paint on foot pegs not even wore off. Oem tires 756,s ,chain ,etc. I took it easy test riding in the street I figured the air filter was oem and would b crumbling apart. I took the sub frame off then the filter. You just touch the filter and it crumbled apart. It started raining so pics r bad. I cleaned the air box that took 30 seconds. So nice working on a like new bike the bolts all come off so easy. This is the 2nd owners gas can he ride it twice 1 time with his wife on the back.

That's because the owner rode it and found out how slow it was and parked it in the corner of shamefully slow 125 mxer's not to be ridden again

Not this one Bro. It’s the Ryan Mills works replica. Double boost port special Profeshenal racing cylinder. A couple of these where released by accident.

Always loved 125's. 1999 YZ125 bought new in 99 Riding and racing took a back seat as kids and career took over, Started riding again last summer 52 years old, overweight, slower than I've ever been but having a blast. I prefer my 125 to my sons CRF450. Pro action suspension and thinking of a TMR 144. Cant beat the aggression needed on a 125.

Gonna get to it soon...all my fancy parts are here...waiting on number plate backgrounds, then gonna strip it down and grease it, install the TSP head and other parts.
Getting a mate to video me on the day of my first ride, plus I will have my gopro on. Wanna put together a nice little video for posterity...at my age this could well be my last 125.. my first one was a 77 Elsinore..
Actually, thats ridiculous...I'm only 16 and I have the new 125 to prove it..😀😀
Actually scratch that...I'm only 14...and I have the super mini to prove it!! 😀😀

Actually, I tell too many lies. I'm really a girl, and I like rding Honda Z 50's 😀😀

This one no way I could sell it. I shipped the other 04,s suspension out 10 days ago, still not back. I need that back so I can hv both 04,s together. The 05 is all apart it has a hot rods crank and the cylinder needs replating. To mod the 05 I need the oem crank and a new cylinder, thinking about selling it maybe. Just mod the low hr 04
Then I don’t hv a 05 chassis just sitting. My back is pretty bad yet. Kinda retuned and so busy with 2 vehicles buying parts and switching parts like a under drive pulley kit just the pulley on the crank turned into a nightmare. Switching alternators because the van I,m selling has a life time warranty it has the billet alum pulley also. Changing starters also life time warranty on one. Pulling air ride off changing shocks, etc. Exhaust apt, tires, etc. the weather here sucks big time either cold 37 at night windy or rain, slows down everything. I pressure washed the engine and tuned it up in the rain wed and bought more parts.

So a group of my insane friends are all buying 125s to race at the last race of the series we race.

I have my “race bike” and they all secured theirs now too.

It’s in 3 weeks.

I have an 06 cr125 I rode it once so far and had an absolute blast!

One friend grabbed an 06 rm125, a 13 husky 125, a 92 cr125 and an 01 kx125 round out the bikes for this battle royale.

Talking a few more guys into it hopefully too!

Riding it last weekend was so fun.

Pinned, and shifting and bogging and clutching and just laughing all day about how slow it is and how absolutely wide open you are everywhere on it lol.

So fun.

I might be all in on 125s from here.
