Keating Started a new thread 2024 YZ125 Vet A rider Build to a 137cc

Just picked up my slightly used '24 YZed 125 the other day! The bike came with a FMF Factory Fatty pipe and a Powercore 2 silencer, a JD jetting kit installed, Dunlop MX34s with 1 ride (front still had the tits), Emig lock-ons, and everything else was stock. The first thing I wanted to work on was the suspension! If...

So, I've never been a fan of big bore 125s up to a 134 or 144! They run out of power way too soon and if you're on a 125, you don't want to run out of power too soon at all! In fact, you want what little you have to last as long as possible and the bike to...

I race a 125 because of the way it makes me ride. Yes, my buds can just blip the throttle on their 450's, but that's not what I'm looking for.

Yup. You’re either a 125 rider or you’re not. I do much better riding a bike that forces me to ride aggressively, carry momentum and flog it for all it’s worth. I also have way more fun doing so. The starts do suck but when you get the checkered flag you know you earned every position.

Everyone will be slower when they switch to a 125, at least for a while. For ultra-aggressive and determined riders like myself, switching to the 125 was a great way to improve my skill and consistency. I never allowed the 125 to be an excuse, but instead used it as a reason to step up my effort. I raced a 125 from 2013 through 2015 in the Vet B classes. I purchased a 450F at the end of 2015 and moved to A. After six months on the four stroke I went back to an old YZ250 two stroke and...

I have 1 on my 2024 KX 450. Works amazing. The fit and finish on these pipes is amazing as well.

.. Unfortunately this thread is a good representation of society today and Vital is not immune. This once fantastic forum has been suffering from this for a while now. It is becoming more and more of a dumping ground for unnecessary keyboard warrior egos. On topic, I have no idea what’s going on with Jason but as a human I hope he gets through whatever is going on as best as possible. Life happens and sometimes it’s bigger than motorcycle racing or any other career for that matter.

Had some down time this winter and just rested my body mainly, and rode my '03 a few times up at my buddy, Michael Gage's neck of the woods in upper East Texas. He's got some incredible places to ride within 30-45 min of his house! Been doing a ;little training and am just now ramping up my program for...

Hoping to get into a nice used 22+ YZ125 to upgrade from my 08 YZ125 with almost 700 hours on it. Love the case matching. I should have done that when I did the last crank in my 08.

I'm still loving them! I put on different set for the World Vet race at Glen Helen at 33.4 hrs. They were actually slightly used; they were the tires that I ran at Loretta's this year on my buddy's bike. So, they had 2 practices and 6 motos on them.... I"m telling ya, they look worn, but they are hooking...

How are those Hoosiers holding up at 40 hours? In other forms of racing they call Hoosiers "Purple Crack" due to their killer grip but short life and it sounds like they are living up to the nickname in MX too. Factory riders change tires every race so they shouldn't care about life but they are also sponsored by other tire companies and get forbidden "spec tires" that act like Hoosiers. Maybe the "spec tire" movement is to keep them off of Purple Crack.

Not sure as I had moved on by about 1988, ( I later ran the westcoast for VP for about 8 years.) but I'm thinking it was 84-85 when we put the deal together with Phillips 66. Since they did not distribute in the 5 western states, they put a re-brand deal together for Trick. I know the plant in Borger had been built at least partially to make the 115/145 in WW2 for the P51. Last I knew VP and I'm sure others were still buying "base stocks" if not completely blended race gas from there. I/We (Trick) originally...
