8/6/2026 5:41pm I only have access to my 1991 125, but that sounds like the exact type of thing that would cause the misalignment I have when trying to use a 1990 tank. Both the KX125 and 250 received new microprocessor ignitions for 1991.

8/5/2026 7:12pm 1990/1991 KX125/250 tanks share the same part number now but you can't put a 1990 tank on the 1991s and bolt it down all the way. The middle mount got moved down and back about 10mm for 1991. Apparently, it's fine putting a 1991 tank on a 1990 though. I learned this the hard way.

I went all in on an overpriced Marketplace find today. It's a '90 KX125, the first generation with perimeter frame and conventional (41mm) forks. Seller had it labeled as a 2001 but it was clear what year it really was from the pics. He said it has been sitting for a long while. It started right up and shifted through all the gears without a hitch. It runs extremely rich, which could be old fuel, carb tuning or crank seals.. or more likely a combination of the three. The first thing I do when I get a bike is crawl...

Got my DIY vapour blaster running for the first time in a couple years. To check my media ratio and pressure was right I spent about 30 seconds on one of the motor mounts. I got lucky and it was pretty much dailed in first go so I decided to do some other parts. I actually left the brakes assembled since vapour blasting is much lower pressure and fine for the rubbers and plastics. They’ll need a good clean to make sure there is no media left anywhere before they get used. I also left the pads in to protect...

Thats rough….I think when you apply generic rockstar graphics the silencer packing melts away instantly….hopefully the transmission gears are not all worn out, thats when it adds up quickly….

Raced at the original track up to about 1990, after it was resurrected after hosting concerts I think...? Memory is a little fuzzy, but after 1990 it faded back into obscurity. Good and bad memories of riding that track, but the history it holds is undeniably big This was 1988 or 1989, 402 on the Honda And then in 1990 they hosted a state championship (AMA), here was the result (running my Loretta's number):

Ktm delivered one of the most advanced and tunable 2 strokes in years with the new 300Sx….and it has gone largely invisible by most media and so called 2 stroke advocates….MXA did not even do a full blown test of the 25 300SX, just a brief recycling of their original test…. Yet they continue to test the unchanged YZ250 and write several hop up articles centered around the YZ250…..strange for a magazine that claims they are 2 stroke loyalists. If you read between the lines of MXA”s beta 350 test, the 300SX out performs it everywhere…Not sure I would need...

1/2/2026 6:12pm What do you all think can be done about the seat cover, if anything? I have a seat cover that has that sort of staining but not as severe. Is riding the bike helping at all? It helped mine some but it's been 60+ hours now and the cover could still use more work.

12/22/2025 5:47pm What I've seen over the years is that the 19" wheel is more about making the bikes better for Supercross rather than better at motocross. I don't know if the production rule requires wheel diameters be the same as stock at the top level. Local tracks obviously don't care.
