I went to Southwick this year, hadn’t been since “the last national at Southwick” so I don’t remember the price of the ticket back then but I found myself on the couch the same night watching the broadcast cause I couldn’t see shit at the race 🙄

Deeganites?

5 deep ? I watched a part of the vid of the guy that got black listed . Most of it was because of steel city . He showed fights which is stupid , no body wants to c that.  He showed some racing huge area  of a hill was 800 people deep that couldn’t see anything.  And what r u going to c. 1 guy in the 250 class running away with every race. 450,s hv 2 guys Everyone is happy that Chase is doing Great and controlling the championship. But I can see Chase ride at Sunset Ridge or Mendota tracks for 10 bucks at the gate .  And here him interviewed by a guy that holds races every week at Mendota at least . Chase saying I 1st raced here on a 50 or 85 my dad sister and I in a pu truck , more genuine than a natl interview by a contacted person that is there to further there career. Both tracks hv pro ams in September. I,m sure Chase will b there like usual unless he’s contracted to race somewhere.

No hate, being compared to Hannah is a good thing. It was more of a reference to how old I am. The kid likes to kick everyone's ass, nothing wrong with that.

Not sure where you stand and can’t see due to canopies but they never got in my way. I mostly stood in the middle of the track and can see everything.

The canopies are great because they enable older people and possibly people with disabilities to be able to come and enjoy the national that otherwise couldn’t.

Not everyone is young and can run around and stand in the hot sun for 8+ hours straight.

exact same thing in millville this year. they need to ban those damn things. nothing like 2 bros sitting underneath a 10x10 canopy when its overcast out taking up a bunch of real estate and blocking a bunch of peoples views while watching the latest episode of the deegashians on their phones instead of watching the race

Until fans stop going it will continue to rise. That goes further than just bike races.

I paid the high price to camp all weekend which I believe is ridiculous, but what pissed me off even more is a majority of people camping did not pay. If you don't buy the tickets online they still let you in to the camping spots and expect you to pay later. I found out most people don't, as was evidenced by the lack of fan camping stickers in the lot. Then on race day, they crammed 4 vehicles into my spot that I paid good money for. I even watched one guy run into the back of my friends camper van. I yelled at him to stop like 5 times and he continued to act dumbfounded when I yelled at him to back the fuck up after he ran into it.

The air horns and chain saws definitely get super fucking annoying.

Hey at least izz-ray-ehl and you-crane have their bombs haha.

I was gonna watch thunder valley national this year but instead took a weekend and went and rode there.  ~$500 including gas hotel etc split with my friend.  Drove from ks.  Everything is getting expensive though so don’t blame the sport itself too much, between insurance equipment and fuel costs + inflation, its just gonna be expensive.  Upper middle class sport now.

Everything is sky high, but specifically insurance for events like this....not to mention the costs of fuel for the equipment, labor costs, security and everything else imaginable is escalating.  It sucks all around and not just moto.

THIS!!! Well, the ridiculous prices too. I cannot imagine shelling out for for am racing on national weekend if i still raced. It must be 5x what op mentioned.

The tents all along the fences was so frustrating. Im there as a hardcore moto fan that appreciates seeing these guys up close. Meanwhile it's all families in the tents along the fence who pay attention for a grand total of 3 minutes per moto.

100%.

I've been to A2, Fox Raceway & Millville this year. I've watched the full broadcast every single time afterwards. $7.99 Peacock subscription/Couch/$12-12pack in the fridge beat ticket prices, $60 parking (A2), heat, humidity and seeing a fraction of the track/race. Yeah, it's fun to see people I've known for decades but not worth the cons of attending...

Budget a bit more on the 12er. Better experience.

People who have to inject politics into every discussion are so embarrassing. Don’t be a kook.

Agree that this site is for moto talk and it should only be about that but politics controls and impacts every aspect of your life now. So I give him some slack. Can always just ignore the comment and scroll past it you know.

The drone work is quite good IMHO on the broadcast.

Plus Stew and Weege really have chemistry. Who knew Stew was a comedian? “Call an ambulance….”

But DV I would have expected a nice French red wine instead of a 12 pack.

My family and I used to do the national every year at BuddsCreek since Travis was on an 80 with that stuffed animal tied to the back of his chest protector, to when Stanton, Wardy, & Bayle were on 500's.  Thursday through to Sunday.

This weekend, my son, and grandson.....2 adult pit passes, one childs pit pass, and camping in our 2 man tent.....515.00 dollars.  And that was at the gate, not online, so I at least avoided online gees and taxes.  515 bucks.  Insane.

No more.  You can keep it.

You better never go to a NASCRAP race with an RV...This Oct in Las Vegas...RV weekend parking...2 choices...$4999.00...or...$2500.00...$515.00 wont cover the weekend food & alcohol...

I generally do what  I and pay what it costs, but i had to look this up for myself.   Wow.   Screenshot 20240818-214659 Chrome

You know it’s bad when a guy with FU money is saying it’s too expensive. Too bad all you jerks ran DC off so he’s not here to explain why it’s so expensive to watch in person yet can’t afford to get a full time flagging crew out there

There parents pay.  I bought 2 tickets for a Packer game when was in 7th grade with my money from working 4 farmers. I treated my mom.  I actually made more on some days as a 9 yr old in 76 bailing hay than I do trucking now. So there is No way a trucker could afford to enjoy a national. Unless I raced amateur day Fri, sun on pro track. Then Fri, sat on the night track. And b in the top 3 . At red Bud.  Millville has 2 days of amateur racing but 50a,55a has a low # of riders. Most attend the national on sat then hit a local race to see the better racing of the 125 super competitive class. I wonder if u can race amateur day then leave on pro day.  And hit a local race or a lake.  Most travel a good distance I think more pro racing like the old days of sat qualifying & sun qualifying then the mains. Add a 125 pro class & a 250f emx style with  cash purse.
