Bought one of these tf-250’s last week and did my break in etc. so far I really like this bike triumph did a great job on it.

That being said, I have been through all the manuals provided by the dealer.. owners manual etc… and what I find lacking is a lot of technical info that other manufactures give to you when purchasing a new bike.

Operations such as engine maintenance (top end/valve specs) chassis maintenance such as torque specs for linkage, motor mounts etc are not in the 200 page manual. Just very basic stuff.

Has anyone had any luck getting this info from a dealer or triumph? I do 95% of my own maintenance and find it disturbing that I can’t go over the bike and recheck torque and such correctly after break in. Even though the manual says to do so.

That’s the only complaint I have aside from the dealer not having the wifi module in stock.

Once you get it please post whether it has the service info that other owners manuals have. Want to know whether it’s worth the $54. Until then I might just bother my dealer for specs that I need when I need them

I don't know how it applies to the MX bikes....but for my 900 Rally Pro, Triumph made it so the service manual that covers EVERYTHING is accessed by paying a fee based on how long you will be accessing it online.       Needless to say, that is pretty disappointing compared to having a hard copy to leaf through at your leisure.

Fortunately, I bought my T before they went to this new pay to access BS.  I was able to pay to download the whole manual...but that was 2020.

Totally reasonable question from OP. Buys bike, supplied literature doesn’t answer basic question, comes to internet to ask others for help.

Sorry this is such a mystery to you.

Maybe KTM service manual will help as engine is pretty much identical to older speck 250f.

So here’s what I got back from triumph customer service.

There is a subscription based website with the tech info

You have to register for the site and once verified email you can purchase the digital service manual that’s printable. Looks like it’s inexpensive. $9-10 per document that you want to buy. I’ll do the purchase and report back to see if I got what I wanted.

Sure no problem,

This week I am re-springing it for my weight, going to 49t sprocket, WiFi module, hopefully a 110 rear tire of Dunlop sends them fast enough.   And see how much better it can be.

Anyone have a link to a wiring diagram? I have 10 hours on my bike, just rode it today and washed it. It was sitting in front of the garage and I heard a noise coming from the bike. Sounded like something clicking. So I pulled the plug out of the exhaust and hit the starter. Bike fired up but the starter kept going. Held the kill switch and the motor shut off but starter kept going and as soon as I left off the kill switch it started. Quick pulled the seat off and unhooked the negative off the battery while hitting the kill. Unhooked the starter lead off the solenoid. As soon as you touch the negative cable back on the battery the solenoid engages. It's either the solenoid or the start switch that is sticking but I don't know which wire does what? 4 wire plug at the solenoid and a 6 wire plug at the start/ kill switch. I'm leaning towards a solenoid but I want to narrow it down unless there is something else I'm missing. This is a new one lol

Did you do the recall for the faulty starter button? If not, talk to your dealer. They’ll replace the starter and ride assist cluster with more waterproof ones, and replace large portions of the clutch assembly as part of the recall.

Starter button functioning on its own was the main symptom of the bad button pre-recall

Yep they’ll take care of you! Seems they didn’t do a super good job of getting the recall info out there fo owners. My dealer actually called me as well as the email from Triumph that I got. New buttons seem to be significantly better, but I still unhook the battery and cover the buttons when washing regardless. Pre-recall I started to do that after the first occurrence of self-starting, and even with the buttons covered I had another 2-3 times that it tried to start when I hooked the battery back up before the switch just decided to call it quits

The whole online computer service manual rather than handheld paper style is not cool. There my dumb ass is in the garage, hands covered in dirt bike cobblins, oil, and grease trying to mouse to the right page, or in the middle of the Allegheny Mountains with no service needing torque specs. We need print manuals.

My downloaded KTM manuals come in pdf files, and there's a print button at the top right to print any or all pages. Is Triumph a different format?

Call me old, but I agree 100%.  Even for my Huskys I pay a local printer ($35) to print and bind the .pdf manuals.

I haven't been able to figure out a way to print them from online. The "print" just comes out blank with watermarks saying who printed the page and when.

Only solution I could think of would be to screenshot every single page but fuck that.
