While I agree ex pros don’t belong at an amateur national, Jett and Chase lap into the top 10 and put that much time on their competition. Some people are just that much better than others 🤷♂️
Now this guy is thinking outside the box!
I'd like to see a Vet Pro class and a Vet Non-Pro class for dudes like me who might have been competitive in 30B but couldn't hold a candle to guys who raced nationals.
OR they could ….. Add a range of slow 25+ 30+ 40+ 50+ vet C classes?
More work on MXSports employees but there could be no Vet classes the 1st week then have the Vets racing during the week before the ATV national the next weekend.

Where is it "ok" for ex pros to race in everyone's opinion ?
Once you are over 40 then race whatever class you want and roost the hell out of all the whiny little bitches that cry about it.
These guys get out there with the 40 best riders in the country in their age brackets and still make them look like they aren't even moving. I'm sure it's exhilarating racing the other 2-3 guys in the class that belong on the gate with them, but it must get pretty sketchy when it comes time to lap the guy putting around in 35th place.
I get it that these old pros should still be allowed to race if they want to. But if they are still running national caliber A class speeds, then my opinion is that they belong in the A classes and only the +25 vet class. Not out there spanking the regular guys that work regular jobs and are trying to compete for an amature championship.
It's an age class. Check DOB and let em ride.
I don’t understand why anyone, be it brown and short or someone else, would want to race a class where they are over a min faster than 3rd place when there is an option at that very event to have a gate full of people your speed. The entire premise of racing classes is to put people of similar talent level’s together to create competition. This in generally done by age, bike size etc. When McGrath would race mammoth he’d race 30 pro even though he was almost 50 years old because that’s where his equal competition was. What’s the point of him racing 40 pro when he’d be out front alone. Brown and short are avoiding competition, for me that’s the entire purpose of racing.
Line ''em up in their age bracket and have 1st pro and 1st non-pro...and an overall if you want.
Its been going on for years. There is literally not a single amateur class for vets. Not a single one that does not allow pros. It's garbage. If they are still this fast then just go do a pro national but that's not as fun because they aren't up there winning. Rather beat up guys with 9-5 jobs.
Vet 30+ and Vet 45+ exclude anyone who has ever earned an AMA professional point.
I don't understand why this is not good enough for some of you.
Simple solution
+ 25 Vet Pro - anyone who has made fast 40.
All other vet classes for anyone who has not scored a point.
Because the same guys complaining on here have absolutely no shot of qualifying for those classes.
But but but...
With the money LL makes you would think they could afford trophies for everyone.....
the ultimate sand baggers … not sure how they look themselves in the mirror?
Even simpler solution, people should not sandbag and just sign up for the classes that their competition is in. If you’re winning your class by a min and there is an option for you to race a faster class at that very event you should be in that class. It’s really simple actually.
Pit Row
The same way everyone else does, just with a big #1 medal around their neck because they were the fastest guy in their class at the track.
One of my bros is racing Vet 30+ this year. Going by where he is finishing and comparing his speed relative to myself and others around me.....That class is full of some fast vet dudes. Made me realize my dreams of Loretta's in my 30s is not in the cards.
Right, at a minimum these guys are local A riders.
This topic comes up every year. No matter where they set the classes someone is going to be left unhappy.
So nobody is going to mention the photo finish of Brown and Shorty ? Unbelievable finish, regardless of your opinion on what class they should be racing.

yet you same dudes complain when someone stays in the 250 class too long, but former national pro and former national champion racing an AMATEUR championship is cool… ok got it, that makes total sense! 😂😂😂
You know...back in 2005 in 125B I had to race a 14 y/o kid on a Suzuki, #212 went by the name of Ryan Dungey. Should they have made him race A because he was 10 seconds a lap faster than anyone else on the gate?
The whole system is completely fucked. But it’s what’s in place, and nobody who can change it, cares. So it is what it is.
If Brownie had only gone with the 450
A combined Plus 40/50 pro class would be awesome. I don't see why there is 16 mini classes and they can't get 1 Vet pro class in the program.
The only ones complaining are people that aren’t there.
For a ten man gate?
It is a Age Vet class simple as that not a C class or B class or an A class.
If you are no longer a PRO you and now an amateur.
