Anyone hear any inside info about what happened. Anyone have any ideas or guesses? The 250 was supposed to be the hardest bike to build, then after that it should have been pretty easy/straightforward to get the 450 out. It seems weird with how great the 250 has turned out that theyre having trouble with the 450. Are they building a whole new bike from the ground up like some manufacturers used to do or are they doing what most do now and using the same frame, suspension…etc and just putting the 450 engine inside it? They have an entire incredibly good rolling chassis, shouldnt be too hard to stick a 450 engine in that thing. The 450s rev much less and are not squeezing every little speck out of power out of em like the 250s so it should be relatively straight forward. Whats the deal?

Why is the 250 supposed to be the harder bike to build?
I don’t think there is “trouble” per se but rather just taking more time than expected. I feel like they were a bit ambitious. It’s clear they don’t want to rush anything or cut corners and I believe that’s the best move for everyone, brand and customers alike.
It wI'll be lIke the 250 with the same last gen ktm 450 engine

Well look at it this way, the 250 was a very well kept secret, and they kept a lid on the development of that bike and the whole project was top secret. They probably just figure that is the best plan for the 450 too.
Fuck the 450. Make a 350!
That’s a championship winning engine package.
Would you rather have them release teaser pics of individual components over the course of a year? Or just wait and release the complete bike?
Everyone complained the 250 was slow to get to market but when it did, it was clear they had taken their time and got it right first time and built an awesome bike. Once all the positive test reports were in, the late delivery was forgotten. Selling a completely new, unproven bike is a hard task and you only get one chance. I'm guessing the 450 will be the same story.
Suspect 450’s information will be released just like the 250’s information was released.
From what I know, the plan is still for media to ride it in later November.
Thats good to hear!
I would buy one!!
I thought it was delayed a year so they wouldn't be racing it until 26?
Thier 25 will show up at dealers late april 25 when the other brands 26's are about to drop. So it will just seem lIke it is a 26 model year.
I think about the money they are bleeding in R&D for both bikes for several years and even racing....... How many 250s do you think they have sold so far? A couple of hundred tops? Ouch.
But thankful they are participating!
That’s the 450 side of their race team, just cuz they’re not racing it doesn’t mean they won’t be selling them
I hope they can speed up their process for their own sake. I definitely don't want them to show the shroud bolts 1 week and triple clamps a month later until the unveiling again.
Pit Row
Off road models ML? Dual sports?
This should be the title of it's own thread!
How can mfg's be so stupid as to not see this opportunity?
Maybe ML can print out pages and pages of comments to show?
For their own sake? Or for yours?
I think the Triumph 450 will win the 2026 shootout!
Maybe the 450 will have the 250 frame.
Same! I've heard great first hand reviews, at the track, on the 250
I may or may not have heard that there’s a 350 planned…along with off-road SKUs of the three displacements. Not proclaiming to have super insider knowledge so if it doesn’t happen don’t shoot me but that’s what I was told upon working with a dealer for my TF250..
Only if Ducati isn't there
Only after adding a tooth to the rear sprocket and dropping 10cc of fork oil “for hardcore racing “…
That would be the smart way to go, thats what yamaha does.
Someone I deal with is involved with the engine testing. It is 100% in testing and said to be quite a motor.
Agree with the 350 sentiment. Would suit Triumphs off engine size history well too.
