'Splain this to Lucy since I'm admittedly not all that bright - how does contrived drama "...get more regular viewers..."? Are there mainstream sources feeding video clips of these antics to non-fan demographics (commercials, etc.) to expose them and hopefully draw them in as "regular viewers"?

I don't see it like that. To me, there's nothing new about it - it's Pro Rasslin', MX-style. They throw some raw meat to the room-temperature-IQ crowd to get them foaming at the mouth and keep them coming back for more... and it obviously works - just read this forum.😄 So, I see it keeping some of the fish that were already in the pond on the hook... but not bringing more fish into the pond.

I didn’t really start getting into F1 until the show started. I kind of knew about it but not any storylines. The show shed more light on those stories and now I watch it regularly. Other non-motorsports enthusiasts have told me similar stories. If it’s presented in the right way it can bring in new viewers, that is if the teams ever agree to it which will be the biggest hurdle.

I would love to know what planet anyone is on who thinks Deegs is ever going to challenge Jett, let alone in his first year. He has only just started winning 250s and plenty of top 450 guys like Coop and KRoc would wax him. And they are not on Jetts level

Are we ttalking jjust mx? Because he not even in the same zip code as Jett in sx. He's far from the best 250 sx rider, as a matter of fact. Mx, sure he's been next level.

Guess I got to see the Deegs pull up to the track too many times and sit in the truck for a minute so the camera guy could get out first so the act could begin with the cameras rolling.  Not a fan of fakeism.

Just as the Motospy series was shot, they will shoot the action as it’s presented on each race day with cuts of audio and b-roll in between and create an engaging show out of it. You will get some in between fluff for sure (they even do this on the F1 and motogp shows) but it’s still entertaining.

he is the only up and coming 250 racer who is likely able to take it to lawrence in 25 (some rumors, which I'm for) or 26. when bradshaw moved up, I admit no one saw mcgrath being part of the equation so quickly, but could that happen again? it won't. lawrence is going to effing thrive on this new CR. it's a CR he and hunter helped build. think about that. this could be the greatest matchup in the sport's history, and like many of you I'm a historian of the sport. the difference in attitude, race craft, and riding style are a perfect storm. whether you like him or not (and if you don't then why) haiden is a modern day bob hannah.

Bob Hannah would say "fuck you"

There is no way Deegs can throw the 4 fid around like how he rides now, it will bite him for sure.

Deegan wins outdoors this year. 250 SX/MX next year, defends SX 250 title then outdoors 450 2026.

I think Drew Adams could be better than Deegan.     So there's that.

Who’s to say he won’t adjust his style to the 45? Also as someone earlier pointed out…. RC, JS, RV & ET were all throttle twisters and made it work in the big class. Jett is freaky fast and makes it look like he’s riding on a goose feather pillow, doesn’t mean it’s the only way to do it. It’s going to be a good 10 years to be a moto fan, that I do know.

Can’t argue with that; though I would add he came into the 24sx season a little behind the 8 ball. Hard not to think his dominance won’t translate to sx next year.

The conversation on Pulp about Haiden potentially having his own team when he eventually moves up to 450 and Starling mentioning a TV show got me thinking; what if instead of pushing a “Drive to survive” type series on a streaming platform, it was a behind the scenes with Haiden as he navigates the 450 class. It could be pitched as; “Instead of going the traditional route and taking a factory ride in the premier 450 class, Haiden bets on himself starting his own team to battle the best in the business on a privately owned team.” Totally spitballing here but just an elevated version of the Vlog, featuring some behind the scenes with other notable riders, riders and teams mic’d up just like ‘Drive to Survive’ but mostly centered around Haiden and his new/privately owned team by an up and coming rider.

Very big Deegan fan myself, I do believe he will have a time with learning the 450. He will in no way shape or form be able to ride it with the same style he rides the 250. I think he will have an adjustment period.

Ever heard of a guy named Eli Tomac? Second in all time sx wins, leader of combined 450 podiums(something like that), three( I count 2023, that was his title, but still respect to chase)SX titles, and like 6 mx titles. Haiden is becoming a bit more like jett technique wise with hopping some bumps and stuff. You can be agro like haiden is right now, on a 450. In the handful if videos of him on a 450, his style fits it well and his style is probably even more refined from then to now.

We said that during supercross about Jett fans and the weekly circle jerk threads.

I warned you guys this would happen.

The homies should have been humble or else this wouldn't be so fun.

I realise Haiden has grown up in the spotlight but why doesn't his fuckin' dad give it a rest and let the kid be a racer instead of a YouTube/TV personality?

I'm so tired of this shit where everyone is obsessed with social media and all the rest. The reason RC and RV, for example, were so lethal is they did nothing but train and smash everyone on the track.  I don't need to have 'personalities' on the podium and all that shit. I just want to watch elite racers elevate the sport.  Think about Schumacher when he was dominating during his Ferrari years.  He was like a ruthless shark, ice cold.  As to Haiden, he could get seriously sidetracked pissing about with his own show - let alone his own team (for a cautionary tale see JS and the original Bubbas World). To Gypsy Ho and all the other social hos - stop trying to turn the sport into the fucking Kardashians!

I realize that a behind the scenes style show is almost impossible but I also thought Feld and MX sports would never work together and they are now so who knows what is possible.

I remember Troy Adamitis and the SX Spy videos doing an incredible job capturing a behind the scenes look into our sport (just to give an example that it’s possible) and with Deegan already being comfortable behind the camera and our sport being more popular than it ever has; why not have a streaming show centered around one of the more popular riders to help give more recognition to moto? They (as in the already trusted crew of Vurb and other popular filmers in the paddock) would show how much bigger the sport is than Haiden and why it’s so difficult for a younger/touted rider to not only manage a championship in the 450 class but potentially, also manage a private team to break the status quo and bring bigger outside sponsors to a sport that has been mostly riding on the shoulders of OEMs and energy drinks.

Just to remind Americans again...for the hundredth time.  F1 has been a massive sport worldwide for at least 50 years.  It's only the US that has suddenly realised it because of Netflix.  The comparison between F1 and MX/SX is insane.

big picture wise I think the sport in todays climate of fans would benefit from another James / Chad , coop / Kenny type rivalry with Jett & haiden. in context let’s say timeline wise everything goes to plan for haiden to get on the 450 by ‘26 , chase still goona be there for another 3 to 4 yrs , kinda almost like the position dunge was in when Eli & Kenny was coming up if u think about it

Have I told you about my Ju Jitsu training or meditation yet? They’re both pretty cool but they’re a lot cooler without privateers involved. Anyway, I just bought a spec paddle tire that I need to test on my Stark Varg at Glen Helen. Cheers mate!

Deegan is going to continue to get faster, stronger, and smarter.  By 2026 or 2027, he could be a challenger in the 450 class.

Aggressive, wide open style has never and will never work on a 450. Period.

The Lawrence bros will have all the challenge they could ever want next year from this current version of Chase Sexton.

As for Deegan, I believe he'll be in the mix in 2026...  And I don't think he'll have any issues adapting to the 450.

Hunter is just a tick off of Chase and Jett and I believe he'll remain that way, at least through 2025.  Then a good 4 way in 2026 is the hope...
