Pulp over Gypsy usually. I also can't stand the "DUDE, BRO, Law-ike" every 5 seconds. But I also think Pulp has gone downhill ever since Steve decided that an American motocross racer waving an American flag on the podium of an American MX National after he won it, looked bad in his eyes. Said the Canadian living in the freest country on planet earth where he's lived for decades..

Freest country on the planet, there goes your credibility.

I’m sure you have noticed that the biggest sponsors of moto, worldwide, are into many more things than moto. They plaster their logos everywhere for all eyes to see, and they pay dearly for maximum exposure, not minimal. So when it comes down to choosing where to send one of their sponsored riders, there’s a decent chance they’ll favor outlets with the biggest numbers. But I could be wrong… 😂

Steve holds back nowadays- also some of his stuff is staged. JT’s podcast is my go to, just wish he would do more stories.

Can’t deny that Gypsy gets some damn good guests. TP podcast was insane. Just have to bear through his accent until the guest speaks again.

The biggest thing that annoys me with Gypsy is if he has a fellow Aussi guest, his Aussi accent amplifies x5.

Then don't listen to the Jacko Strong podcast that just released today. It was really good, not much if at all jiu jitsu talk.

I don't consume either other than clips that get posted here, but I don't get the impression they are competing with one another. Does Steve do one-on-one long-form interviews? Seems like Gypsy Tales and Whiskey Throttle would be a more relevant comparison.

100% accurate.  The pulp show is meant to be a format that is like bench racing in your garage with 3-5 buddies and IMO he has achieved that.  If you listen, you get to know all the co hosts, producers, regular guests etc.  This is continued on social media and is really good most of the time.

Gypsy is one guest and their whole life story, just like Whiskey Throttle.   Steve also does the individual interviews and has some really good ones dating back a long time, but they are not 3-4 hours.

I don't take this that serious, it's just shit talking.  Just like you would with your buddies on the tailgate after a day of moto.

Some of ya'll should remember that and read more shit here with a little sarcasm.  Or maybe it's just that most of you don't actually ride or have friends so you don't know what it likes to talk shit after a day of moto, in that case I truly do feel sorry for you.

Perfect response to someone saying you have thin skin

Two different styles, I listen to both, but I only listen to select parts of pulpmx, the rider interviews are mostly bland on pulpmx.

If keefer is on pulp I'm generally there for the whole thing.

Did you listen to the Eli interview when Phil was on? That was the best Eli interview i’ve heard.

That can be good and bad, good, he’s really happy with his situation(without the injury), or bad, because he’s thinking about retirement, i’m not sure. But good for him that he’s being more open even though it is cool sometimes to not know what he’s doing between races and then all of a sudden tweet from his tractor. 😂😂

I mean it's up to the rider if they want to open up or not they don't owe us anything at the end of the day.

In Eli case I think he's realised he wants to be involved in the sport post retirement which is cool.

How does Gypsy Tales work? He’s not always interviewing guests, in person, is he?

Kind of weird how many people just can’t handle somebody having a different political opinion. 😂

Steve Matthes is insufferably douchey and a liberal cuck to make matters worse. His Manderin shtick is so bad and he doesn’t even realize it. He talks like a teenage boy with Kieffer about dicks and whatnot and it is kinda of pathetic. I can’t even listen to Pulp Mx anymore.

Gypsy all day, he does get a bit tired with the surfer like deal, but he is still light years ahead of Steve Matthes and Pulp MX.

Motox pod show is better than Pulp.

What we need is a show by Daniel Blair. That would slay them all.

… but Pulp MX is two pounds of shit in a one pound bag.

Okay but tell us how you really feel.

They’re not comparable.

I don’t listen to pulp because I don’t have 5 hours to kill to hear 1 hour of good content. I don’t think pulp is bad, it’s just long and 90% isn’t my cup of tea.

I do listen to a lot of his other pods, because they’re short and mostly informative.

I do like Gypsy, he’s a top interviewer, and his guest are receptive to his style. Plus, he has a lot of none moto guest that peak my intrest.

Sorry, can’t take Gypsy. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

Talked to Matthes in the pits one time. Seemed like a good dude. But I still don’t want to hear his Communist lecture.

We probably would have had a better Ferry interview if he went on Jace’s podcast.

Haha.  Yep, but you have to pay a few bucks a month and I am sure that is some sort of communist issue for him since everything should be free....oh wait.

Blairs stuff is good, but also different than Pulp.  I appreciate we have so much variety

I loved Pulp back in the day when they would talk about the less public parts of the sport from team rumors to secret tech stuff. Nowadays Steve is scared to make teams mad at him and not let him have any pizza from the team rigs.
JT is the best, when he is giving Steve a hard time it always cracks me up. Not a big fan of the Gypsy podcast, that style just doesn’t keep me interested for long.

I like Gypsy's podcast better.  Pulp is more of a call in show. I haven't listened to pulp all that much since Kenny left years ago other than the ones with DV co-hosting.

Not sure if “pure moto” matters to the guest that wants to get their message out to the most people possible.

That's totally true. Gypsy has done some very good interview with people that are non-moto like Casey Stoner, Sete Giberneau and Loic Bruni, a mountain bike world champion. I'm pretty sure that fans of thoses sport have listened to theses interviews, which is a way larger  demographic then if you get another Daniel Blair interview.

For me, I prefer gypsy to pulp. Gypsy isn't afraid to dig deeper and ask tougher question, to his own detriment sometime (Like when he was telling Lars Lindstrom his theory on why Chase was washing the front so much on the honda), while Steve will usually hide behind a joke or a commercial as soon as something a little dicey comes up. It's also clear that gypsy follows and is open to more stuff, which  just makes for a more interesting conversation with the guest. Pulp is funny at times, but feels like groundhog days most of the times.

to add on , with all tht jiu jitsu talk he be doing , he can easily tap into the mma world & get bigger than wht he already is especially with the accent he got , all the kiwis & Australians tht support  Izzy , Robert Whitaker & volk would eat up all of Gypsy’s content

Hey had Kenny on in studio a few weeks ago. That guy is painful to listen to IMO. It was the worst show in a while. DV in studio is the best, followed by Phil.
